Furness Building Society are the new sponsors of the League Cup |
The Northern Premier Cricket League is delighted to announce that Furness Building Society are to sponsor the league cup competition with immediate effect until the end of 2008.
The competition will henceforth be known as the Furness Building Society Cup.
On Sunday Preston entertain Blackpool at West Cliff in the semi-final (1-30pm start) while Morecambe are at home to Kendal in the outstanding round two tie.
The winners of the Morecambe-Kendal tie will be at home to Leyland in the second semi-final on Sunday 17 August (1-30pm).
The final will be held on Sunday 31 August. Leyland, Morecambe or Kendal will be the host club, depending on which club gets through, and they will play the winners of the Preston-Blackpool semi-final. Mr Cairns will be present to present the cup to the winning captain.
Furness Building Society have issued the following statement:

The Northern Premier Cricket League Chairman, Norman Poole stated: "This is an excellent sponsor for the league and we are delighted to welcome aboard Mr Cairns and Furness Building Society. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship and I am sure Mr Cairns and fellow company employees will be made most welcome around our grounds as the cup competition reaches its climax."
