Northern League Preview for 9th and 10th May

It's the 5th round of The Northern Cricket League, this weekend, and with Penrith having the Saturday off, everyone else will be hoping for similar weather to Bank Holiday Monday with teams looking to push on and make inroads in the league table

Division 1

In Northern Cricket League Division One the early pace setters Morecambe face an away trip to Chorley. Josh Dixon's team have made an excellent start to the 2015 season with 15 point wins over Netherfield, Penrith and St Annes.

The victorys in part have been down to the bowling attack of Eddie Read and Suraj Randiv, however the batsmen have been setting totals for them to bowl at.

Chorley on the other hand have had a bad start to the season, losing three of their four opening League games. Their only win coming in their victory over Preston last Satuday.

It is a big weekend for Andrew Holdsworth's men as they also face a National Knockout home tussle with Lytham on Sunday.

At Ernest Pass Barrow host league champions Blackpool, Barrow are picking up some good form, whilst Blackpool continue to dominate even at this early stage in the season. Christi Viljeon and Richard Gleeson continuing to look a formidable bowling threat.

In the other games out of form Leyland host an inform Fleetwood side who had Bank Holiday Monday off.

Two out of form sides go head to head at Shap Road as Kendal play Preston. This is a big game for both sides as they look to ignite their season after making a poor start.

St Annes host Netherfield, with both sides desperate to get their season underway after making a bad start.

On Sunday Kendal travel to Penrith in the Twenty-20, whilst Chorley host Lytham and Leyland travel to Longridge in The National Knockout. Both games getting under way at 1pm.
