PENRITH CRICKET CLUB:
First Team Captain: Kriss Mclean
Professional:Paul Hindmarch
After a steady first season in the Northern Premier Cricket League, Penrith skipper Kriss Mclean aims for consistency as his team prepare for their second season in the League
Penrith have pretty much retained the same squad as last season, with Michael Slack the key addition, Slack is an opening bat that can also bowl, who comes from Carlisle.
Kriss gave me his thoughts on the season ahead:
"We have just started training and have had quite a few players join the Club, so that will help us as a whole. For the First Team our main signing will be Michael Slack from Carlisle, who is an opening bat who can bowl. He is in the Cumberland squad and is currently playing Cricket in Australia.
Hopefully he can hit the ground running on April 18th, The only player who is a doubt for us is Jack White as I can't contact him. Losing Jack would be a loss, however I am happy that we have managed to keep the team together.
Our aim for the 2015 season is to play a more consistent brand of Cricket, with more match winning performances from our more experienced players. We are also looking for our younger players to keep improving as they wlll be a vital part of the 1st Team.
With it being our second season this should work to our advantage as we know more about our selves and the teams we play, so I hope we can improve on last season and have a good season!"
