FLEETWOOD CRICKET CLUB:
First Team Captain:
Mat Clark,
Professional:
David King,
Fleetwood Cricket Club are ready and raring to go for 2015 as they look to make an impact in the Northern Cricket League. Fleetwood will also return back to their home ground in May, whilst they also look forward to seeing Aussie Professional David King join the Club.
Mat Clark gave me his thoughts on the upcoming season:
" 2015 should hopefully be a great season for all at Fleetwood CC as we look forward to hopefully getting back on home soil.
We have an official ground opening on the weekend of May 30/31st where we will be inviting all of our friends both past and present in celebrating the start of a new era at Fleetwood Cricket Club
On the field in 2015 our aims will be to continue with the stability of our last three years of top six finishes with hopefully a good cup run thrown in.
Whilst in the Second Team we have decided to really blood our youngsters this year under the guidance of new captain John Amor.
We believe that in the signing of David King we have a fantastic player who will score big runs and also take some handy wickets.
David is a player with whom we have pursued for a number of years after having him recommended highly so we are delighted to have him on board.
Ian Holland may also become available to play for us in a number of games. Ian is traveling Europe before basing himself with friends in Fleetwood whilst he pursues a County contract this summer.
Clearly his availability maybe limited, however anytime that he spends around the boys especially the young lads at the club will be of great benefit to all.
Again we take the road for the first six games, and unfortunately our second team will once again bare the brunt having to play over two thirds of the season on the road, however we are hoping this will galvanize all concerned.
Again may I reiterate our sincere thanks to all other clubs who have helped us during our predicament and we look forward to offering some good old Fleetwood hospitality post May."
