DIVISION ONE:
Saturday is the start of a double header in The Northern Premier Cricket League as the Competition enters into round 23.
Division One continues to be tight at the top as Morecambe, Darwen and Fleetwood continue to battle it out for the title. Blackpool also have an outside chance of retaining their title, although they need to keep winning and hope the teams around them drop points.
The key game of round 22 is undoubtedly is at Woodhill Lane as League leaders Morecambe host second placed Darwen.
Morecambe will be looking to extend their advantage at the top against a Darwen side that have surged into contention despite not having a regular professional for the majority of the season.
This is such a huge game in the context of the season, whoever gets the result will be favourites for the Division One League title.
Fleetwood meanwhile make the journey to face an inform Penrith side at Tynefield Park. Fleetwood won a low scoring game with Netherfield last weekend and will be looking for a result against a Penrith side that have got some good form going at the latter end of the season.
Blackpool face bottom side Preston at Stanley Park looking to win with the hope that the teams around them drop points. Preston have had a disastrous campaign as they still await their first win of the campaign.
In the other games, two out of form sides go head to head as Chorley entertain Kendal, while two inconsistent sides face off at Parkside Road as Netherfield play Leyland.
League placings are important for these sides as they aim to play in the Lancashire Cup.
In the other game a St Annes side that won at Kendal last weekend entertain a Lancaster team looking to get a win on the board.
DIVISION TWO:
The biggest game awaits for both Netherfield and Leyland in Division Two as both go head to head with the Division Two title in sight.
Netherfield and Leyland are fighting it out for League supremacy with Netherfield currently out in front after a remarkable campaign. Leyland need the win to overhaul Netherfield and gain some momentum, a victory for Netherfield would leave them within sight of the Division Two title.
The other games see Lancaster host third placed St Annes, Preston entertain Blackpool, Darwen play Morecambe at Birch Hall,Kendal hosting Chorley and Fleetwood playing Penrith.
Barrow have the Saturday off.
BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY PREVIEW:
ROUND 24
It is the traditional Bank Holiday Monday games in the Northern Premier Cricket League and with the season winding down to a close the points are up for grabs across both Divisions.
Northern Premier Cricket League Division One sees Fleetwood host Blackpool, Lancaster entertain Morecambe, whilst Kendal and Netherfield go head to head in the Traditional Derby Day clash.
The other games see Chorley face off against St Annes, Barrow hosting Penrith while Leyland entertain Preston.
In Division Two, Blackpool entertain Fleetwood, Preston visit Leyland , Morecambe host Lancaster, Netherfield face Kendal. while St Annes host Chorley and Penrith play Barrow.
