DIVISION ONE:
The Northern Premier Cricket League enters into Round 22 of the Competition and with only 5 more rounds left, the race to be crowned Northern Premier Cricket League Division One Champions reaches a critical point in the season.
Morecambe continue to lead the way at the top after their victory over Fleetwood last weekend and currently sees them 14 points clear of second placed Darwen, and 18 points clear of Blackpool with a game in hand on both its rivals.
The team from Woodhill Lane will be given yet another challenge when they travel to face Leyland who pushed Blackpool all the way last weekend in a game which saw 3 centuries.
Leyland will be disappointed to have lost the Readers Cup Final to Darwen last weekend, but will still pose a major threat for Josh Dixon's men, with the likes of Luis Reece and Richardt Frenz in action.
In another key game League Champions Blackpool host second placed Darwen at Stanley Park. Blackpool need to win to stay in the running for the title, while Darwen will be looking at their Readers Cup success as a spring board for the remainder of the season.
Ernest Pass sees Barrow host Chorley. Chorley's season somewhat gone off the rails in recent weeks, while Barrow will be keen to build on their win over St Annes last weekend. Fleetwood host Netherfield. And will be still eyeing up the top prize. However Netherfield defeated Fleetwood earlier in the season and they look at their win over Lancaster last Saturday as something to build on.
Two struggling sides go head to head at Shap Road as Kendal entertain St Annes, both sides looking to stop the rot with a result. The final game sees Lancaster host Penrith,
DIVISION TWO:
Netherfield will be eager to push on at the top of the League as they host a youthful Fleetwood side, Second placed Leyland travel to Morecambe. Blackpool play a much improved Darwen at Stanly Park.
Third places St Annes host Kendal and Chorley entertain Barrow with Penrith facing Lancaster at Tynefield Park.
Preston with the weekend off.
On Sunday Fleetwood entertain Darwen in the fixture postponed in May
