Saman signs on at Netherfield

Netherfield Cricket Club are pleased to announce the signing of Sri Lankan all rounder Saliya Saman as Club Professional for the 2014 campaign.
Saman is a 27 year old Sri Lankan Right handed bat and Right arm medium paced bowler.
Saliya joins after spending six seasons at Carlisle where he has accumulated over 2600 runs and taken over 300 wickets.
The last two seasons he has been in the top 5 batting average and 1st in the bowling average.
He played for both Sri Lanka's Under 17's and 19's,taking part in the triangular series against Bangladesh and India at Under 17 level.
Saliya also played for the Under 19's between 2003-2005, against Pakistan,India,Bangladesh, South Africa and The West Indies. During which time he played against the likes of AB De Villiers, Suresh Raina and Robin Uthappa.
He has also played for the Sri Lankan Academy.
Saliya currently plays in the Provincial tournament and has played in this for four years.
He is also a qualified Level 2 ECB Coach, spending most of his weeks coaching youngsters in local Schools and in the Community. He has also lead coaching sessions for Carlisles senior sides
Saliya Sub Pro'd for Netherfield in the last game of the season against The Lancashire Colts,taking 3-31.
