DIVISION ONE:
We now enter into the last 3 weeks of the 2014 campaign as Blackpool edge ever closer to glory. The team from Stanley Park may be red hot favourites to win the League, however they still have a job to do as they entertain Saeed Bariwala's Preston at Stanley Park. Blackpool have been bowling teams out for low scores over the past few weeks, Christi Viljeon nearing a century of wickets, whilst Richard Gleeson has also been in red hot form,
Preston have some momentum going into the game following on from their surprise win at St Annes. Jibran Kahn, has been batting well, whilst Saeed Bariwala has been taking wickets at a regular rate.
Leyland on the other hand are in with an outside chance, they have to keep winning and hope that Blackpool slip up between now and the end of the campaign. For this Saturday David Makinson's team face a tough test at Darwen. Leyland actually won the league at Darwen last season, however that said Darwen are a completely different proposition this campaign as they sit third in the table. Jordan Clarke's team could potentially finish in 2nd place if they keep winning and Leyland fall away.
Down at Shap Road Stu Parkin's Kendal host Fleetwood. Both teams have had an inconsistent campaign. Fleetwood started the season brightly but have since been in a patchy run of form. Kendal will see 2014 as a mixed year, they have shown promise but they have also under performed in games. at the same time when you have the experience of Terry Hunte, as well as a Professional in the class of Jamie How they are still very much a danger. Fleetwood will be keen to finish strongly with league placings up for grabs as they look to address their current run of form.
In the other games, Lancaster host Barrow, Lancaster are not having a good season following on from their form from 2013. However Michael Barry looks in good touch, as for Barrow, they had a mixed weekend they beat Netherfield but bad light prevented them from victory against Penrith. Barrow have had alot of winning draws as they look to finish the season with some momentum.
Andrew Holdsworth's Chorley have a big weekend, on Saturday they will be looking to address a bad spell of league form when they host a Netherfield team fresh from their derby win over Kendal. Whilst on Sunday they are in the semi-finals of the National Knockout. Chorley have done remarkably well in the cup, whilst their league form has not been as fruitful.
St Annes entertain Morecambe at Vernon Road and will want to put the woes of last weekend behind them. Morecambe will be looking to get back to back wins
DIVISION TWO:
Leyland wrapped up the Division Two title last week and will be looking to keep the run going, when they host Darwen, before they compete in the Readers Cup Final on Sunday when they play Chorley.
In the other games, Netherfield looking to respond to their defeat to Kendal host Chorley, Kendal travel to Fleetwood on Sunday in a game played at Fylde Cricket Club, Preston host Blackpool, Lancaster travel to Barrow. Whilst Morecambe host St Annes at the Royal Lancaster Grammar School.
