Preview for weekend 19th and 20th July

Its a busy weekend of League and Cup action in the Northern Premier Cricket League, as the race for success heats up.

DIVISION ONE:

On Saturday the game of the afternoon is at Broadwater as former Northern League Champions Fleetwood face off against Champions elect Blackpool.

The form of both sides is very different, with Paul Danson's Blackpool in the form of their life, as they continue this winning run. Blackpool now 11 League games undefeated.

Fleetwood on the other hand are very much a hit and miss sort of team, after initially making a bright start to the season they currently can't seem to get into any form.

Another interesting encounter is set to take place at Ernest Pass as Barrow entertain Darwen. Barrow have collected alot of winning draws of late. Sam Dutton continuing his fine season with another century in the game against Preston. Darwen looking to recover from shock defeat to Morecambe at Birch Hall last weekend. Darwen still with realistic ambitions for the league title.

Down at Woodhill Lane Tommy Clough's Morecambe entertain Stu Parkin's Kendal. Morecambe in confident mood following on from last weekends victory. Kendal also in fantastic form looking to get back into action after having last weekend off. Jamie How looking to add more runs following on from his fine form this season.

Their is a Cumbria Derby at Parkside Road as Netherfield entertain Penrith. Netherfield looking to bounce back from the rain reduced defeat at Lancaster, Penrith are also looking to get back on the winning trail, Saliya Saman and Tom Williamson two of the stars on show for the hosts, Alex Atkinson and Greg Hall return to face their former team.

David Makinson's Leyland make the trip to play an unpredictable Preston team. Preston showed fighting spirit to bat out 58 overs for a losing draw at Barrow, whilst Leyland will be looking for the win to keep the pressure up at the top of the division.

In the other game Andy Holdsworth's Chorley host Lancaster, Lancaster are looking for another win following their victory over Netherfield. Chorley are looking to rediscover their league form.

DIVISION TWO:

It is top v bottom as Leyland entertain Preston, whilst 3rd placed Netherfield travel to Penrith. In the other games, Morecambe travel to Kendal, Lancaster host Chorley, Darwen host Barrow, whilst Leyland entertain Fleetwood. St Annes have the afternoon off
