Fleetwood CC Preview for season 2014

Fleetwood Cricket Club approach season 2014 with the aim for improvement following a mixed 2013 campaign. The team from Broadwater lost the league title last season and despite reaching the Twenty-20 finals as well as having talented Professional Ian Holland, the team faltered to a low key finish to the campaign.
Skipper Mat Clark gave his thoughts on the new campaign:
" The 2014 season at Fleetwood cc is undoubtedly one of the biggest and most exiting in the clubs history as we look forward both on and off the pitch.
With preparations well under way for our major ground reconstruction in August the onus is very much on all players and club members to involve themselves in every facet from prep work to fundraising and we could not be happier in the support the club has been shown from the whole community.
It his hoped that this spirit will transcend onto the pitch at Broadwaters across all teams this season and although it will be tricky juggling all the fixtures in late summer we hope to do so with the help of the league exec and our fellow clubs who have helped accommodate us for which we are extremely grateful.
At senior level we have the arrival of another exiting Professional in JP DE VILLIERS. JP will have a tough act to follow after last season in Ian Holland but we are convinced he is the perfect fit for the entire roll that the club seeks from our paid man..
We are pleased to announce we have kept all of last years squads intact and welcome new signings Michael Moore and Josh Heaney both of whom have fitted in seamlessly.
The first division looks as wide open as I've seen it for sometime and it will be fascinating to see how it pans out.
Our aim is to keep up our momentum of improving and challenge for silverware not only in the first division but right across the Club"
