1. Chorley seeking New Professional
There will be a new Professional at Windsor Park next season after Chorley Cricket Club announced that current pro Gaurav Dhar will not be offered terms to continue in the post for 2014.
The club have also confirmed that player-coach Iain Critchley will also not be offered terms next season.
The decision was made after lengthy discussions by the committee and was taken at this early stage in order to give both players more time to consider their options and also allow the club more opportunities to consider alternatives.
Dhar came through the ranks at Windsor Park before leaving to join the MCC Young Cricketers programme, returning to the club as professional at the start of the 2011 season, when Critchley also took up his post.
Gaurav and Iain have given tremendous service to the club over the last three seasons, said Chorley CC chairman Peter Mockett.
They were main players in our in our team of 2011 when were third in the League, when working in tandem, they were without doubt the best 'spin twins' in the Northern League, supporting our first class opening attack in telling fashion.
Our supporters got an additional boost from seeing two local lads figuring in the team so successfully.
However, the team is evolving with the introduction of new players and the committee feel the time is right to look at different options.
That said, we strongly hope the pair will retain connections with club.
Chorley CC are already actively seeking a new professional for 2014 and an announcement will be made in due course as to a replacement.
On another matter, the club would also confirm that work on construction of the revamped pavilion/changing facilities began immediately after the conclusion of the 2013 season last Saturday.
The old bar is already in the final stages of demolition as the site is cleared in preparation for building work to begin, and the new facilities are on schedule to be completed well before the start of next season.
2. St Annes resign Toby Bulcock
St Annes have confirmed that Toby Bulcock has signed on as Club Professional for The 2014 Campaign. Bulcock had a succesful first season at the club as St Annes look to make an impact in 2014
