Chorley Building Society, Lancashire's oldest building society, has agreed to sponsor the Northern Premier Cricket League for the 2013-14 season.
The Northern Premier Cricket League was founded in 1952 and is regarded as one of the strongest leagues in the country. It comprises clubs spread over a large geographical area, from Barrow, Kendal and Netherfield in Cumbria to the Lancashire coast with Morecambe, Lancaster, Fleetwood, Blackpool and St Annes and inland to Preston, Darwen, Chorley and Leyland.
NPCL Chairman Norman Poole commented "We are extremely grateful for the very kind sponsorship given to the League by the Chorley Building Society. It is a tremendous gesture on their part to support local cricket and I am sure that it will be beneficial to both and we thank the Society very much".
Lesley Pape, Deputy Chief Executive at Chorley Building Society said, "We are delighted to be able to support the Northern Premier League. It has an excellent reputation throughout cricket in the UK. Chorley Building Society is above all a community building society providing support to many deserving causes, charities and local organisations. Our sponsorship of the Northern Premier Cricket League promotes the Society's value of supporting local communities as it includes both the Chorley and Leyland clubs in its membership which dovetails nicely with our branch network"
