Preston Cricket Club
Captain: Sajid Patel, Professional: Soaib Dukanwala, Last Season Finished: 6th
Preston Cricket Club will be looking to build on an impressive 2012 campaign where they finished 6th.
The team from West Cliff, go into 2013 without Lukman Vahaluwala who made the move to St Annes. This means that Sajid Patel is the new Captain, whilst Soaib Dukanwala steps up as Club Professional
Moshin Mohdi will also be playing a full season, after an injury hit 2012 campaign. Preston are also looking to strengthen their team having signed an opening bat from Wittingham and Goorsnagh Cricket Club.
In the bowling stakes, the club are looking at adding a quick bowler and are currently in talks with some one. Their bowling line up will still include Andrew Starkie, Imtiaz Matak, Ben Harrison and Soaib Dukanwala. They also have Yasin Patel who is a decent right hand bat and made 400 runs last season. Yasin has been at the club since he was a junior.
Captains View:
"We are looking at consolodating after a good 2012 season, where we finished in the middle of the league. We will miss Lukman who's made the move to St Annes. But it gives others a chance to step up. We are also looking at having a good cup run like we did in 2009 when we won the Twenty-20. Doing well in a cup would be good for the club, and we will be going all out to do well.
Paul Masterson will continue as 2nd Team Captain, looking to develop the Juniors with the help of a couple of senior players"
