Luis Reece looking for more runs

The Northern League teams will be looking for some Cricket after the complete washout of Bank Holiday Monday, as we enter into another important weekend of League action

DIVISION ONE

In Division One the game of the day is at Broadwater where Defending League Champions Fleetwood host 2nd placed Leyland.

Fleetwood stopped the rot last Saturday with a comfortable 9 wicket win over Netherfield. Fleetwood have had a tough start to the 2013 campaign, however they will be keen to build on last weekends victory.

Ian Holland continues to impress for Mat Clark's team, scoring 254 runs in 6 matches, he has also taken an impressive 22 wickets so far this season. Adam Parker is also batting well scoring 229 runs so far this campaign

Leyland on the other hand keep winning, Inform professional Luis Reece has now scored a total of 396 runs, which includes two centuries, his latest coming last Saturday where he scored an unbeaten 115 off 108 balls in their latest win at Blackpool.

Both sides will be keen for the win, Leyland wanting to close the gap on League leaders Barrow, whilst Fleetwood will want to get on a run of results, putitng them in contention for the league.

In the other games, League Leaders Barrow will be hoping to give a debut to New Professional acquisition Jonothan Wells when they travel to play Darwen at Birch Hall.

Barrow won again on Saturday with a 123 run victory at Preston, Pieter Malan hitting an unbeaten 122 as Sub Professional.

Daryl Wearing's team are the side everyone is chasing at the moment, they have all the momentum going for them, where they sit 19 points clear at the top.

Darwen sit in 6th place on 42 points, their last game ended as a winning draw at Morecambe, Jordan Clarke's team are never an easy side to play, Ammer Mirza is in top form with the bat, professional Alan Kruger has settled into life at Birch Hall, putting in some impressive performances with bat and ball.

Chris Miller's Kendal host Blackpool at Shap Road, Kendal have had a bad start, they sit 2nd from bottom without a league win to their name. They have also got the extra problem of being without professional Alex Doolan who has gone to train with Australia A for a month. They will be using Ben Dunk as their sub professional for Saturdays game.

This is a very important game for Kendal, they need the win, against a very good Blackpool team, who will be keen to bounce back from defeat to Leyland last weekend.

Blackpool play on Sunday when they entertain the Lancashire Colts, who currently sit bottom of the division

Netherfield travel to play Morecambe at Woodhill Lane, Marc Brown's team also reeling from the 9 wicket setback at Fleetwood. Netherfield have had the misfortune of seeing their last 3 home games rained off.

Morecambe sit 7th after a mixed start, Josh Dixon is batting well for them whilst professional Vishal Tripathi returns following his knock of 43 for The Unicorns in the Pro 40 game with Leicstershire last weekend.

At Windsor Park Chorley host Lancaster, with Ben Simm's side hoping to give a debut to professional Jannisar Kahn, (more news on this as soon as I hear anything. Lancaster in 4th place after their win at kendal last weekend.

Chorley are looking to get into some form as they currently sit 3rd from bottom in the division.
