The Northern League is at the midway point of the season and this weekend is the start of the second half of the season.
DIVISION ONE
As far as the Division One title goes, Barrow still remain in front on 116 points, however Leyland, Fleetwood and Lancaster are still clinging on in the hope that they can make up some ground.
Barrow looking to extend their lead entertain defending League Champions Fleetwood at Ernest Pass. This is undoubtedly the game of the afternoon, on the opening day of the season, Barrow defeated Fleetwood in the reverse fixture.
Since then as Barrow continue to remain on top, Fleetwood have got their act together and in recent weeks, they have put together a run of good results and now find themselves 3rd in the table.
Second placed Leyland travel to Morecambe with Luis Reece back in David Makinsons team. Reece who has been away playing for Lancashires 1st team, makes a welcome return to the side as the team from Fox Lane look to chip away at Barrow's lead at the top.
Morecambe travel to Fox Lane and will not the be easiest of games for Leyland, they are a team that possess alot of quality within their ranks.
Lancaster are hopeful that Jannisar Kahn will make his belated debut as Club Professional when they entertain Darwen at Lune Road.
Lancaster have done well despite the problems with the professional and they face a Darwen team which have had a struggling league campaign.
Kendal will be looking to have a good second half of the season when they travel to play Chorley.
The Shap Road outfit this week announced that Chris Miller has resigned as Club Captain, Stu Parkin will take over for the rest of the season. Alex Doolan makes his return probably for only two games, as Kendal begin to look for a replacement for the rest of the season.
Chorley have had a mixed few weeks, losing heavily to Fleetwood knocked their winning form back, however they have progressed in the National Knockout competition reaching the last 16.
In the other games, inform Netherfield host St Annes, whilst Blackpool entertain Preston.
On Sunday Leyland host the Lancashire Colt's.
