Netherfield host Twenty/20 Finals Day

NORTH 1 GROUP

Netherfield will host this seasons TWP Wealth T-20 Finals day after defeating Kendal by 57 runs at a jam packed Parkside Road.

Netherfield winning the toss, opted to bat and Craig Walmsley set the early platform with a blistering 38 off 31 balls.

Walmsley's knock crucial after the early loss of South African Professional Colin Ackermann who was caught by Shane Hyland for 0 off the bowling of Adam Cowperthwaite.

Kendal did get into the game, after Chris Miller caught Walmsley with a top class catch off the bowling of Stu Parkin.

Kendal then took the wickets of John Huck and Marc Brown with Darren Braithwaite taking the catch of Huck off Stu Parkin's delivery, whilst Parkin caught Brown off Adam Cowperthwaite.

Netherfield now 89-4, pushed on to 110, before Chris Parry was caught by Ryan Nelson off Jack White.

However Ben Barrow kept chipping away and batted superbly, hitting his half century with a boundary in the last ball of the 20th over as Netherfield set Kendal a chase of 130-5.

Netherfield played well and were in control as soon as the first over when Ben Barrow caught Darren Moore for 0 off Nathan Chambers.

Further wickets fell as Ryan Nelson fell to a Chris Parry catch, off Scott Clements, before Jack White was caught by a stunning one handed catch by Marc Brown off Nathan Chambers who took his second wicket.

Kendal in trouble on 10-3 had some rest bite thanks to Sub Professional Michael Price who was going along nicely.

However Netherfield remained in control, and were into the Kendal line up after Chris Parry took the catch of Terry Hunte, this time off Greg Halls delivery.

Greg Hall bowling well then bowled Nick Lewthwaite for 5, before taking the crucial wicket of Michael Price for 23 off 24 balls with John Huck on hand to take the catch, Hall ending with figures of 3-17.

From that point on, Kendal's wickets fell rapidy, losing Darren Braithwaite, and then Adam Cowperthwaite, with Marc Hadwin taking both the wickets, as Ackermann raced in to catch Braithwaite.

Colin Ackermann then finished the game off taking both the Shane Hyland and Stu Parkin wickets with Kendal all out for 72 in 17 overs.

Netherfield will now host the TWP Wealth Twenty/-20 Finals Day on Sunday July 7th.

TWP WEALTH Twenty/20 ROUND UP

Leyland v Darwen

Darwen defeated Leyland by 37 runs, Darwen setting Leyland a target of 142-5 off 20. John Cordingley with 51 off 41 balls and Ammer Mirza with 35 off 34 balls.

Leyland were 105-7 after 20 overs, Nathan Jackson with 3-24, with Nathan McDonnell top scoring with 37 off 42 balls.

St Annes v Fleetwood

Defending TWP Wealth Twenty/20 Champions Fleetwood qualify for Finals Day after a 48 run at St Annes.

Adam Sharrocks 41 off 36 balls, and Ian Holland's 26 off 27 balls setting St Annes a chase of 119-9.

St Annes were all out for 71 in 18.2 overs, Kieran McGann with figures of 5-16. St Annes resistance coming from Andy Kellett 23 off 42 and Neil Bradley 19 off 18 balls.

Preston v Morecambe

Morecambe are currently top The North 2 Group following a 64 run victory at Preston. The visitors closing on 108-5. Josh Dixon with 22, Ryan Smith with an unbeaten 20 and Vishal Tripathi with 19.

Preston were all out in 15.2 overs for 44, Tommy Clough ripping through the hosts with figures of 4-7, with Yakub Bhamji taking 3-15.
