The Latest TWP Wealth Twenty-20 Round up from throughout the league

Here is my latest Twenty-20 Round Up for the 4 areas in the Northern Cricket League for 4th to 11th June

NORTH 1 GROUP

Netherfield v Barrow:

Netherfield made it two from two games in the North 1 group after an entertaining 10 run victory over Barrow at Parkside Road.

The hosts winning the toss and deciding to bat as Colin Ackermann top scored with 51, with Craig Walmsley also in impressive form with 41.

Netherfield reached 127-9 in their twenty overs, Barrow's Gary Collins taking 4-20.

In reply Barrow pushed Netherfield all the way but fell short being bowled out for 117 in 19.2 overs, Jonathan Wells with 27 and Daryl Wearing trying to push for the victory with 24.

Nathan Chambers 3-16 and Colin Ackermanns 3-11 saved the day for the hosts leaving Netherfield having to win one from the next two matches to host the finals.

Kendal v Barrow

Kendal remained in touch with Netherfield after a comfortable 8 wicket win over Barrow on a very dark and gloomy night.

Barrow decided to bat first and made 114-7, Rhys Studt with an unbeaten 60 off 52 balls.

The wickets were shared between all the bowlers, Adam Cowperthwaite 2-13, Brad Moses 2-2) Stu Parkin 1-19,Nick Lewthwaite 1-28 and Chris Miller 1-30

Kendal cruised home in 15.3 overs, Brad Moses 44 off 36 and Terry Hunte 31 off 35 as Kendal raced home to 117-2.

NORTH 2 GROUP

Morecambe v Preston

Preston blew group 2 wide open after defeating Morecambe by losing fewer wickets.

Mark Woodhead hit a top scoring 80 helping the hosts to 142-5 off 20 overs.

Soyeb Dukanwala took 2-16 for Preston

In reply Preston also closed on 142 but for only 2 wickets, Soyeb Dukanwala with 58 off 42 balls, both Ben Harrison 36 off 41 balls and Moshin Modhi 27 off 18 offering good support.

SOUTH 1 GROUP

Fleetwood v St Annes

Fleetwood defeated St Annes by 9 wickets at Broadwater!. St Annes closing on 166-7 with Nathan Bolus top scoring with 61.

Joe Bell lead the Fleetwood bowlers 3-27

Fleetwood easing home in 12.5 overs, Adam Parker unbeaten on 60 and Ian Holland unbeaten on 35.
