READERS CUP DIVISION ONE
Defending Readers Cup Holders Kendal bowed out of the competition after a 9 run defeat to Fleetwood in a dramatic encounter at Shap Road.
In what was a repeat of last seasons final, Fleetwood set Kendal a formidable score of 237-3.
Naveed Yousaf made 101 off 120 balls well supported by Adam Parker 66 off 63 balls, Dean Bell 30 off 23 balls and Ian Holland 23 off 27 balls.
Kendal made a great attempt to reach their goal thanks to an unbeaten 87 off 120 balls by Ryan Nelson and Terry Hunte also impressing with an unbeaten 69 off 52 balls.
There were contributions from Darren Moore 23 off 33 balls and Michael Price 31 off 35 balls. However Fleetwood bowled tightly and fielded well in the crucial stages of the game and Kendal fell just short on 228-2.
READERS CUP DIVISION TWO
Fleetwood overcame Kendal by 18 runs. Kendal's best bowlers were Andrew Dugdale 3-27 and Joseph Dodds 3-51 as Fleetwood were all out for 224. Tom Wilson top scoring with 88 for Fleetwood
Kendal pushed Fleetwood in reply, Richard Herron top scoring with 73 and Andrew Dugdale 33 but Fleetwood restricted Kendal to 206-6
