Northern Premier Cricket League Preview for 18th and 19th May

By Richard Edmondson

It's the battle of the top 2 at Fox Lane this Saturday as league leaders Barrow travel to play second placed Leyland in the game of the weekend in The Northern Cricket League.

Barrow remain top following a winning draw with Chorley last weekend, whilst Leylands game at Netherfield was washed out.

The outcome of this game could prove crucial for the rest of the season, with both looking to win the League.

Barrow are still trying to sort a professional out for this weekends game, it is been a nightmare getting a pro in for Daryl Wearing's men and it will be interesting to see how this situation develops

At Woodhill Lane Morecambe entertain St Annes, Morecambe are fresh off an easy win at Preston, whilst St Annes are also in good form following their victory over Kendal last weekend.

Netherfield entertain Blackpool at Parkside Road, Netherfield's game with Leyland rained off whilst Blackpools game with Lancaster also suffered the same fate.

The rain could play a massive part throughout the league as heavy rain is forecast

In the other games, Chorley entertain Preston,Darwen host Kendal, whilst Lancaster face two home games, they welcome Fleetwood on Saturday before hosting the Lancashire Colts on the Sunday.
