Captain: Jordan Clarke, Professional: Alan Kruger, Last season finished: 7th:

Darwen Cricket Club finished 7th in the league last season and are looking to progress for season 2013.

The club have made some changes for 2013, they have a new Captain in Jordan Clarke after John Cordingley opted not to stand for Captaincy for 2013. They have also signed up a Pro in Big hitting South African batsman Alan Kruger.

On top of that they have also signed Ammer Mirza and Chris Clarke, however The club have lost the services of Niall Burke and Alex Davies.

Darwen open their season with a home game against Lancaster.

Captains View:

"I believe Darwen are going to surprise a few people this year and we are quietly confident about improving on last season. Our new Professional Alan Krugar is a hard hitting batsman and a pace bowler from South Africa. He already has a wealth of experience of playing in England.

Ammer Mirza has joined us this year. He broke Church's Amateur Batting Record in 2010.

Additionally, we have the return of Chris Clarke after 12 months away with work commitments down south.

I also took a year out from cricket last year, and went working abroad last year.

Two players have left the Club since last year. Nial Burke has joined Standish.C.C. and Alex Davies has moved to Lytham C.C. We wish both of them all the best for the future.

Alex is an exceptional talent and I am sure it wont be long until we see him in the Lancashire First Team."
