THE LEWIS TOMLINSON INTERVIEW

Miller Enjoying Skipper Role

Chris Miller in action

Chris Miller had a great first season as skipper at Kendal, he skippered his side to not only Twenty/20 champions of the Northern League but also took them all the way to the quarter finals of the National Competition and they finished runners up in the Readers Cup in a thrilling finale at Fox Lane were they lost to Leyland.

Miller is fortunate enough to captain a side which contains 2 very experienced players in Terry Hunte and there pro Jamie How.

When asked how he found his first season as captain he replied:

" It was an enjoyable experience when you are able to captain a team that includes Terry Hunte and Jamie How who have played a lot of cricket so to bounce ideas from them helped a lot,

It was also great to lead such a young group of players as well and see them perform under pressure. The highlights being the Twenty/20 run, which saw us to the last 8 in the country."

Miller himself took 79 wickets in the campaign and ended up with the fourth most amount of wickets in the league but is still looking for improvement from his side in the upcoming season and said:

"We will hopefully look to build on last years success in cup cricket and will be looking to defend our Twenty/20 title and hopefully go one more and win the Readers Cup.

On the league front a top four finish and a place in the Lancashire Cup would be the main goal, but hopefully we will be there abouts pushing for top honours of course!"

Chris Miller will be taking his strong Kendal side up to face Carnforth on Saturday the 14th of April were they hope to kick start the season with a win.
