WHO WILL WIN ?

Barrows Liam Livingstone one of the many Northern League stars in action on the final day

The race for The Northern League Division One title goes into the final day, with Fleetwood, Barrow and Leyland all in with a chance of glory.

Its very tight at the top with only 3 points seperating league leaders Fleetwood and second placed Barrow.

Leyland will also feel that they have a chance, where they sit in third place on 214 points.

Here are the possible outcomes from the final day:

Fleetwood: Mat Clark's team will win the league with victory over Lukman Vahaluwala's Preston. However any other result will leave them waiting anxiously on the result from Barrow's home game against Morecambe. It won't be an easy game for Fleetwood as they play the game at Chorley's Windsor Park, as the fixture was switched from Broadwater due to the drainage problems at the ground.

A winning or losing draw could also seal the league but they would be hoping that Barrow slip up

Barrow: For Barrow to win the league they have to beat Morecambe at Ernest Pass and hope Fleetwood slip up against Preston. Barrow also announced this week that Ben Stokes will be the sub professional for the final day match. Stokes has played for England and currently plays County Cricket for Durham.

Leyland: David Makinson's team have an outside chance of winning the league, and for them they have to beat Netherfield at Parkside Road and hope both Fleetwood and Barrow fail to pick up points in their games.

Leyland will have their hands full as they face a Netherfield team that will pose a challenge for the team from Fox Lane. Netherfield will have Mitchell Claydon as Sub professional, for what is also Ben Haddrick's last game for the club before moving to New Zealand

It also looks likely that Marc Hadwin will be playing his last game for the club, Hadwin is taking time out for a year, but will still be available for some of the Sunday games.

With the battle at the top the main focal point their is league placings to play for the rest in the league.

Kendal will be hoping to end their impressive season on a winning note as they travel to face a St Annes team where both Atiq Uz Zaman and Dinuka Hettiarchchi will be playing their last games for the club.
