Sorry for the delay in posting the review on last Sundays Readers Cup action

Division 1:

St Annes v Lancashire Colts:

The Lancashire Colts progress into the next round of the cup as they defeated St Annes by 72 runs at Vernon road.

Batting first The Colts made a commanding 243-7 off the allotted 40 overs, Lewis Bentley with 59 off 51 balls.

Fayaz Ughradar top scored with (36 off 26),their were also contributions of 30 from Chris Long, Daniel Pawson and Danny Edwards.

In the reply St Annes were all out for 171 in 34 overs, Atiq Uz Zaman with 42, Pete Cummings also contributed with 36.

However 5-23 by Ben Maddocks helped the Colts into the next round.

Division 2:

Darwen v St Annes

St Annes defeated Darwen by 11 runs at Birch Hall, the visitors reaching 195-8 off 40, Paul Wilks with 57. Darwen's Graham Ainslie with 3-37.

The hosts reached 184-8 off 40 in their reply, Lee Thompson with 55.Tom Bolus returning with figures of 3-19

Leyland v Netherfield

Leyland advance after a comfortable 98 run home win over Netherfield, Karl Cross with 79 and Tom Reece with an unbeaten 47 as the hosts reached 194-7.

In reply 4-11 by Steven Pallett skittled Netherfield out for 96 in 33.1 overs. Nathan Dixon with 30.

Preston v Kendal:

Kendal advance by 8 wickets at West Cliff The hosts all out in 39.5 overs for 135, Murtaza Hussain with 45.

Mark Phillips 3-21 and 3-16 by Adrian Potts for the visiting team.

In reply Kendal reached 137-2 in 34 overs, Nick Phillips with an unbeaten 72, Paul Fernyough with 44
