The Furness Building Society Northern Premier Cricket League (incorporating Readers Cricket Balls) reaches the halfway stage on Saturday with St Annes holding a 15-point lead over defending Champions Leyland.
St Annes have played 12 matches and have 128 points with Leyland second (12-113). Chorley (11-107) and Morecambe (11-100) are also in close contention at the top.
While St Annes are at home to Preston on Saturday there's no doubt about the game of the day. That's at Fox Lane where Leyland entertain Chorley. Andy Holdsworth's side have already surpassed last season's points tally of 103.

Spinner Gaurav Dhar and Iain Critchley have played a big part in Chorley's success so far; pro Dhar has 34 wickets at 15, left arm spinner Critchley 26 at 13.
Leyland's pro Brett Pelser has been in top form with 465 runs and 30 wickets and Luis Reece, when university and Unicorns commitments allow has scored 500 runs at 83.

Barrow pro Pieter Malan leads the run charts with 676 runs at 84 including three hundreds; St Annes pro Dinuk Hettaiarchchi has 42 wickets. Preston captain Lukman Vahaluwala has taken 36 wickets as has Morecambe pro Anwar Ali.

Behind Reece in the amateur batting awards so far (sponsored by TWP Financial Planning) Alex Davies (Darwen) has 431 runs, St Annes' Atiq Uz-Zaman 427 and Fleetwood's Adam Parker 406.
Elsewhere Morecambe are at home to Blackpool; Barrow entertain Lancaster; Darwen play Carnforth and Fleetwood are home to Kendal.
In Division Two defending Champions Leyland (11-134) are away at second-placed Chorley (11-127). Teenaged leg-spinner Alex Williams and slow left arm Stephen Cartwright have played big roles for Leyland so far; Williams has 31 wickets and Cartwright 25. Leyland opener Wes Royle has 393, second only to Morecambe's Gulam Maje (415).
On Sunday Preston vie for a place in the regional Final of the ECB National Club Championship when they play Ormskirk at West Cliff.
Action continues in the Jamie Heywood Twenty20 Cup sponsored by Latham Baxendale on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.
Six Northern League cricketers are in the Cumberland side for the three-day Minor Counties Championship game against Suffolk at Mildenhall CC, starting on Sunday. Liam Livingstone (Barrow), Chris Williams and Ikram Ullah (Morecambe), Alex Atkinson (Netherfield), Richard Gleeson (Blackpool) and Jon Miles (Kendal) are all included in the Cumberland side.
The following Sunday, 3 July Cumberland are away at Berkshire in the semi-final of the MCCA Trophy. The game will be played at Falkland CC (11am), with the final scheduled for Lord's

Please note that the Darwen v Lancashire Colts fixture has been rearranged from Sun 3 July to Sun 24 July to accommodate Darwen's ECB National Club Championship regional Final against Prestwich (at Prestwich CC).
