Lancashire Colts maintained their unblemished record for Fair Play since joining the Furness Building Society Northern Premier Cricket League (incorporating Readers Cricket Balls) by retaining the Fair Play Trophy they won in their inaugural season of 2010.
The Colts again achieved a one hundred per cent rating based on Umpires' marks throughout the season, in accordance with ECB guidelines for Premier Leagues.
Carnforth ran the Colts close, losing marks in only one game to finish with 99.1pc while Chorley, Darwen, Fleetwood and Kendal all recorded markings above 97pc. The biggest decreases were recorded by Barrow, Blackpool and Netherfield, the latter falling below the 90pc mark for the season.
Overall in Division One marks fell by 2.2pc to 95pc, and the League Executive are determined to ensure that standards of Fair Play are not only maintained but improved in the 2012 season and beyond.
In Division Two, overall markings slipped marginally by 0.4pc to 96.9pc. Ian Allington marked his first season in charge of Barrow Seconds by leading his side to the Fair Play trophy, with an unblemished record of 100pc. Darwen, Leyland and Morecambe all recorded significant improvements but Preston and Netherfield showed marked declines.
The Fair Play awards will be handed out at the League Annual Presentation Dinner to be held at Leyland Golf Club on Friday 7 October.
The awards are sponsored by Black Dragon Badges & Promotions
