Neil Cordingley's heroics in vain
Mitesh Desai was Colne's hero

Darwen crashed out of the LCB Lancashire Cup when they were comprehensively defeated by Lancashire League side Colne at Birch Hall on Thursday evening.
The defeat by a margin of eight wickets was a big blow to Darwen's hopes of making an impact in the prestigious competition in the club's centenary season.
Colne opener Mitesh Desai was his side's hero with a swashbuckling innings of 66 not out.
Desai's big hitting enabled Colne to make small work of Darwen's 157 for 4 in a match reduced to 20 overs per side, starting at 6-15pm.
Desai, usually a second teamer, set Colne on the way with a positive first wicket stand of 55 in the first five overs with B Patel, who was bowled by Darwen pro Zimmy Khan for 23.
Colne professional Mansoor Amjad then joined Desai at the crease and demonstrated the class that has made him recently selected for Pakistan A.
The pair took the game beyond Darwen's grasp with a superb second wicket stand of 102 before Amjad was caught by Danny Fradd off Kamran Anwar with just one run needed.
Deasi was unbeaten with 66 off 46 balls, including five fours and four sixes when stumps were drawn at 8-52pm.
Earlier Neil Cordingley batted superbly to set the visitors what appeared to be a testing target, especially in fading light.
Cordingley made an unbeaten 69 off 43 balls with five fours and four sixes to provide the cornerstone of Darwen's innings.
