Leyland have announced their professional for 2010, confirming the appointment of South African all rounder Brett Pelser.
Pelser, a 24-year-old right-handed early-order batsman and right medium bowler captains North West in the CSA Provincial Three-Day series in South Africa and has enjoyed a fine season.
He has hit three centuries and currently averages 99.22 from 893 first-class runs in the current season.
Pelser hit his maiden first-class century when making 109 not out against KwaZulu-Natal and followed up that breakthrough innings with an undefeated 163 against SW Districts and 117 not out against Griqualand West. All his centuries have come at his home ground at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom.
Since making his first-class debut in 2007 Pelser has hit 1,274 runs at 67.05 and taken six wickets at 66.
In List A matches he has hit 513 runs at 34.20 and taken eight wickets at 41.
Pelser played for Philadelphia in the NE Premier League in 2005.

Pelser replaces Ameer Khan as Leyland professional and is the only significant change in the club's playing roster for 2010 with no other reported arrivals or departures.
David Makinson will again captain the First XI and Chris Dovey continues as 2nd XI skipper.
