New pro for Netherfield

Kruger aims for golden batting form at Parkside Road

Kruger's home for the 2010 summer - Parkside Road

Netherfield have announced the signing of Queensland opener Nick Kruger as professional for 2010, the Westmorland Gazette reports.
The 26-year-old has hit 838 first-class runs at an average of 28.89.
His highest score and maiden first-class century was 172 against the West Indies tourists at Brisbane in 2009.

Kruger made his Queensland debut as a 19-year-old and has bravely overcome shoulder injuries that interrupted his career. He has also been a heavy scorer in grade cricket and holds the runs in a season record for Valley CC held previously by Matthew Hayden.
He has yet to bowl in first-class cricket.

Kruger's Cricket Archive profile can be found here:http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archive/Players/15/15551/15551.html

Kruger replaces fellow Queenslander Glen Batticciotto as Netherfield professional.

Leyland are the only club in the Furness Building Society Northern Premier League (in association with Readers Cricket Balls) still to announce their professional for the new season.

Meanwhile there are five new First XI captains for the new season.
At Chorley Andy Holdsworth, last season's vice-captain takes over from Jack Catterall and John Cordingley is the new skipper at Darwen with Andrew Cook stepping down.
