Cricket League (incorporating Readers Cricket Balls) leaders
Leyland have a 28-point lead over Barrow with six games left
in the league season.
David Makinson's side visit Netherfield on
Saturday while Barrow entertain Carnforth at Ernest Pass.
Leyland (played 19-218pts) are clearly in the
driving seat but with 15 points for a win batting first and 12
for a win batting second the situation can quickly change.
In third place defending champions St Annes
(19-187) are at Blackpool (19-145) in a Fylde coast derby.
Fourth-placed Darwen (19-162) are at home to Preston, Chorley
play Kendal and Morecambe play Fleetwood. Lancaster have no
game.
On Sunday Barrow are at home to Furness in the
final of the 2010 Cumbria County Cup.
Cumberland CCC also begin their final three-day
Minor Counties Championship game of the season when they play
Suffolk at Sedbergh School on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Play
commences at 11am each day. Suffolk currently top the Eastern
Division table but after their fine win over Bucks at Slough
Cumberland are still in contention in fourth place if they can
earn a maximum 24 points from the game.

In Division Two four sides, Leyland, Blackpool,
Chorley and Darwen are still in contention for the
championship. It's a vital weekend for Chris Dovey's Leyland
side who entertain Netherfield on Saturday before playing
their rearranged game at Fleetwood on Sunday.
Darwen pro Mohmmad Zaman Khan leads the run
charts with 796 league runs while St Annes pro Dinuka
Hettiarachchi has taken 77 league wickets.
In the race for the Castle Awards St Annes' Atiq
Uz-Zaman leads the way in the batting with 733 runs but faces
stiff competition from the Barrow pair of Jonathan Miles (700)
and Greg Platten (665).
Lancaster's Ben Simm has taken 46 wickets but
Kendal's Chris Miller (44) and Darwen's Kamran Anwar (42) are
in hot pursuit.
Barrow wicketkeeper Chris D'Leny (27) leads the
way from Leyland's Matthew Watkinson and Netherfield's John
Huck (23 apiece). Fleetwood's Ryan Smith has taken 17 catches
and Leyland's Luis Reece 13.
Kendal's
Chris Miller has 44 league wickets in
