Professional Pedder in four-man captaincy 'Think Tank'
The man they call 'Tiny' is in charge of a
four-man 'Brains Trust' at Carnforth. Adam Hornby, the huge
man mountain cricketing-goalkeeper resumes the captaincy at
Lodge Quarry in 2011.
One of the best fielders in the league and a
hard-hitting batsman, Hornby is a hugely popular figure at the
club. He was captain in 2008 but stepped down in 2009 to
concentrate on his painting and decorating business and played
Westmorland League cricket for Sedgwick. But Hornby was
vice-captain for Carnforth in 2010 after starting the season
late due to his commitments as goalkeeper for Milnthorpe
Corinthians in the West Lancashire League.
Captain for the last two seasons, Darren Moore
retains an influential position at the club and will
concentrate on off-field organisational matters.
Opening batsman Ryan Nelson, who played for
Cumberland in 2009 is also part of a four-man captaincy
think-tank. Nelson was recently co-opted on to the club
general committee.

Pedder, who will start a third season as club
professional in 2011, completed the double of 500 runs and 50
wickets in 2010 and became the first Carnforth player to take
a hat-trick in the Northern League. He broke the club's
