Netherfield have won their first trophy of 2009.
The Cumbria CB Meageen County Cup was held over from last year when the late rains delayed a Semi Final and Final.
In the Semi Final Netherfield travelled to Keswick last Sunday and won quite convincingly.
Batting first they scored 213 for 6 off their 40 overs. Ben Haddrick, promoted to open the innings top scored with 53.
In reply none of the Keswick batsmen got into double figures as they capitulated for 37 all out in just 19 overs.
In yesterday's final Netherfield travelled to Penrith to meet Barrow. Having won the toss on a decent wicket they struggled early on and after 20 overs had reached only 43 for 3. However, a good stand between skipper Chris Parry and Rishie Girdhari took them over the ton but wickets fell at regular intervals and they were all out for 130 in the final over with Parry top scoring with 51.
Barrow also made a slow start and having reached double figures lost two quick wickets, Liam Livingstone very unluckily run out at the bowler's end when Scott Clement parried a drive on to the wickets.
The introduction of Stuart Nixon then brought about a collapse as he took 4 for 14 in a Man of The Match performance.
Barrow struggled as the run rate rose and were finally all out for 67 with Ryan Wilson taking three wickets and Marc Hadwin two.
