On Saturday, our 1st XI host Lancaster, and with the holiday season in full swing 2 enforced changes are made to the side which regained top spot in the table last Sunday with a winning draw at Kendal. Veteran 2nd XI opening batsman David Newton gains a recall after an impressive string of performances which sees him occupy 3rd place in the highest run scorers in the 2nd Division with 451 from just 13 completed innings. Luke Melville is also rewarded for a fine few weeks with the ball, which sees him move into the top 10 wicket-takers in 2nd Division with 30 wickets at 10 runs a piece including two 5-wicket hauls in his last 5 games.

St Annes' Andy Kellett reports: 1st X1:Duncan Whalley and Sean Bickerdike are both at weddings for this weekends clash with Morecambe. Gareth Evans is also working. Dave Taylor and John Musgrave return after being unavailable last weekend. Paul Wilks, 19 year old Luke O'Dea and 15 year old Nathan Bolus also play with Nick Jones and Roger Banks both returning to the 2nd X1. A very well deserved call up for Luke who has bowled well most of the season culminating in a fine second spell in the 2nd X1s 15 point win at Netherfield last Sunday.

Blackpool's Andy Griffiths reports: Our 2nd XI travel to Lancaster determined to continue applying pressure on runaway league leaders Chorley, and with other teams set to capitalise on our inactivity for the last 2 weeks in August (due to the Lancs vs Surrey County Championship Game being hosted at Stanley Park from 27th - 30th August), it is vital that we get as many points on the board before our enforced lay-off. Andy Griffiths returns to captain a youthful side with recognition for excellent performances in the 3rd, 4th and Sunday XI's (as well as in junior cricket) being given to first-time starters (this season) Mike Tidmas and Nathan Bird, who are both key members of our Under 15 team.

Rick Thomas also returns this week and replaces Andy Jarvis who is away for the weekend. With Paul Wilks in the 1st X1, 15 year old Nathan Armstrong makes his 2nd X1 debut after impressing in the 3rd and 4th X1 teams this season.
