CARNFORTH v NETHERFIELD
Unsworth CC's South African professional Wayne Madsen returns to sub-pro for Carnforth having played in the opening two games of the season. Madsen has scored 1,071 runs at an average of 76 in the Central Lancashire League this season and taken 25 wickets. Wayne is a very popular figure at the club and his energy, enthusiasm and not least talent will lift the side, said Carnforth CC chairman Mark Holmes. We were pleased with stand-in pro Willem Van Zyl at Barrow last Monday and the team put in a much improved display under such an enthusiastic professional that we are hoping to build upon again. Madsen will also play for Carnforth in their last game of the season against St Annes. New Zealander Jaden Hatwell from Northern Districts will play next week when Madsen is unavailable.
