Emmerdale cast and crew in town
Fox Lane stages a charity game on Sunday |
On Sunday 25 May Leyland CC play a friendly game against a team made up of the cast and crew of the popular ITV1 soap Emmerdale.
The match will be played at Fox Lane and will start at 12:30pm. The Emmerdale side have a tradition of playing friendly matches throughout the summer in aid of numerous worthy causes.
The Leyland side will be captained by popular BBC Radio Radio Lancashire presenter and Sale Sharks media guru Dave Swanton, a big supporter of Leyland cricket and a former Palace Shield cricketer of distinction.
Swanton's 'Sounds like a Saturday Night' programme between 8pm and 10pm on Saturday evenings is required listening for many Leyland cricketers, members and committee men, including his biggest fan, Leyland stalwart Terry Wilson .
As well as the cricket refreshments will be served throughout the day and there will be various other attractions around the ground
