Whalley (Capt/WK), Bradley, Evans, Musgrave, Patel, A Taylor, D Taylor, Twist, Uz-Zaman, Whitehead, Ahmed (pro)
Blackpool spokesperson Andy Griffiths reports: Our 1st XI face local rivals St Annes at Vernon Road on Saturday, and will select from 12 to give our Lancashire starlet, Steven Croft, every chance to play - a decision as to whether Crofty can play will be made by Mike Watkinson after an assessment of his workload in the 4-day County Championship fixture against Hampshire, in which he was dismissed to the last ball of the day (for 18) on Day 1. Chris Taylor, on the back of two well constructed 2nd XI innings opening the batting (48 and 72 not out) will stand-by for his first 1st XI appearance of the season. With 9 games remaining, each one in it's own way a mini cup-final, Danno's lads will remain positive in their intent, and take one game at a time.
Luis Reece has now amassed 514 runs this season at an average of 30.24 with 4 half-centuries to his name, and our professional Saj Weerakoon is hot on his tail with 495 runs at 61.88 with 3 half-centuries and one fine hundred. The 4 main bowlers, so impressive all season, are fighting it out to finish at the top of the tree; Professional Saj Weerakoon has taken the lead with 34 wickets at 14.47 (with a very healthy economy rate of 2.66), Rick Gleeson, who enjoyed a first senior hat-trick in the Northern Premier League's defeat of a Lancashire XI in the Mal Loye Testimonial game last Sunday (Vincent LBW, Chilton clean bowled, Newby clean bowled - not a bad three-some!), is currently the leading amateur wicket-taker with 33 wickets at 18.27, with Andy Hogarth 30 at 12.27 and Luis Reece, enjoying a fine all-round season, 26 at 15.96.
1st XI - Saturday 26th July - Away vs St Annes, Meet BCC 11:20 - Danson (capt), Croft, Darlington, Gleeson, Hogarth (A), Hogarth (J), Moore, Reece, Smith (A), Smith (J) (w/k), Taylor (C), Weerakoon (pro)

DIVISION TWO (2nd XI)
BARROW v KENDAL
Barrow: R Mowat (capt), D Myles (WK), P Wilcock, D Lightfoot, M Studt, C Nicholson, J Nicholson, L Cosgrove, R Lightfoot, J Tweddle, GJ Allington Kendal: A Thompson (Capt), A Dugdale, P Dodds, M Phillips, P Cantley, S Nelson, S Cooper, M Williams, N Phillips, L Garnett, P Dowker
BLACKPOOL v ST ANNES
Blackpool spokesperson Andy Griffiths reports: As a consequence of the 1st XI selection, and with doubts surrounding the fitness of Craig Outram, who ricked his neck ahead of last weekend's game and didn't play, the 2nd XI name eleven with two players on stand-by, to cover for Croft and Outram. Jarred Bain, impressive in the field and with a couple of middle order cameos to his name, will retain his place at the expense of Nicky Wall. With captain Andy Griffiths making progress in his battle for fitness, but form still a concern despite a battling 28 in the 3rd XI last weekend, Steve Mercer will continue to captain the side, with Griffiths and Wall on stand-by.
Andy Armstrong is battling to beat his own personal wickets haul of last season (55) and still has the Blackpool 2nd XI record of 69, set by Lyndon Davies, in his sights, but will need to bowl as well as ever to reach that land-mark. However, with 47 wickets in all competitions (at 13.55), he will no doubt be trying up until the last game. Luke Melville's return to form has seen him shoot up the charts with a best yet 24 wickets at 12.29, an excellent return so far from the improving youngster. With the ever-reliable David Booth (23 wickets at 15.70) and Steve Mercer (19 wickets at 13.89) providing solid back-up, and Mike Taylor finding form, the Blackpool attack can justifiably expect to take 10 wickets in each and every game.
With 2 batsmen in the top 5 run scorers in the league (David Newton 404 runs at 36.73, and Steve Mercer 353 runs at 29.42) and runs possible throughout the line-up, Blackpool will continue to fight for the title despite needing a miraculous slip-up from Chorley who are justifiably top of the league at the moment and who continue to impress. 2nd XI - Saturday 26th July - Home vs St Annes, Meet BCC 11:45 - Mercer (capt), Armstrong, Bain, Booth, Bracewell, Heath (w/k), Melville, Newton, Outram, Taylor (C), Taylor (M) (*on-standby - Griffiths and Wall)
St Annes' Andy Kellett reports: In the 2nd X1, St Annes are boosted by the return of Sean Bickerdike, the fit again Neil Bradley and Roger Banks who is available this week. Andy Jarvis, Peter Jackson and the very unlucky Ben Willis miss out. The talented 15 year old Willis has had a good season so far and is unfortunate to be left out. With holidays looming however, Ben will be back soon. St Annes:
Kellett, Banks, Bartholomew, Bickerdike, Bradley, Costin, Jones, O'Dea, Thomas, Watson, Wilks
CHORLEY v MORECAMBE
