Carnforth v Fulwood & Broughton
Fulwood & Broughton won the toss at Lodge Quarry and decided to bat first, Dylan Conroy struck an early blow for the hosts bowling Ewen Mansford for 4 (8 balls)(1x4), 19-1. Ben Rosbottom was the visitors number three and with Matt Smith were going along very nicely until Zack Dodds made the breakthrough bowling Matt Smith for 41 (73 balls)(2x4,1x6), 85-2.
Charlie Rossiter joined Rosbottom and they were scoring at good rate, Ben Rosbottom reached his century. It was Dylan Conroy who broke the partnership of 143 having Charlie Rossiter caught by Jaco Beneke for 73 (44 balls)(8x4,4x6), 228-3.
Clayton Stone replaced Rossiter and in the closing overs lost Ben Rosbottom who was caught by James Park Johnson off Dylan Conroy for 121 (154 balls)(10x4,5x6), 270-4. Simon Kerrigan came to the wicket with only 16 balls remaining and went on the attack, He and Clayton Stone saw Fulwood & Broughton close on 315-4 in their 50 overs with Simon Kerrigan 43no (16 balls)(5x4,2x6) and Clayton Stone 20no (10 balls)(3x4).
The Carnforth bowling figures were Dylan Conroy took 3-88 from 14 overs, Zack Dodds 1-23 off 6, Tom Parkinson 0-23 from 3, Jaco Beneke 0-37 off 5, James Parkinson 0-45 from 12 and James Park Johnson 0-93 off 10.
Harry Wiles and Ryan Nelson opened for the hosts and Harry Wiles was soon out caught by Ewen Mansford off Chris Brookes for 4 (7 balls)(1x4), 11-1. Coming in at number three was Jaco Beneke and with Ryan Nelson had the score rate at five an over, Simon Kerrigan was brought on to bowl and in his second over had Jaco Beneke caught by Lewis Wellings for 36 (31 balls)(5x4,1x6), 60-2. James ParK Johnson was next in but two runs later he fell lbw to Simon Kerrigan for 1 (9 balls), 62-3.
Freddie Whatmuff was the new batsman but on reaching 13 (30 balls)(2x4) he too was out lbw to Simon Kerrigan, 100-4. Bradley Hoyle joined Nelson, Simon Kerrigan struck claiming three wickets in an over, firstly he took the prize wicket of Ryan Nelson caught by Charlie Rossiter for 50 (83 balls)(9x4), 118-5, next ball incoming batsman Dylan Conroy was caught by Ben Parkinson for 0 (1 ball), 118-6, three balls later new batsman Tom Parkinson was caught by Ben Rosbottom for 0 (3 balls), 118-7.
Jack Huntington replaced Parkinson but he too did not survive long caught by Matt Smith off Lewis Wellings for 5 (12 balls)(1x4), 127-8. Zack Dodds joined Bradley Hoyle and they continued the fight, Ben Rosbottom was introduced into the attack and in his first over had Zack Dodds caught by Matt Smith for 26 (25 balls)(4x4), 155-9.
The Carnforth number eleven was James Parkinson and two runs later saw Bradley Hoyle become Simon Kerrigan's seventh wicket caught and bowled for 19 (27 balls) as Carnforth were bowled out for 157-38.1 overs, James Parkinson was 1no (2 balls).
Simon Kerrigan took 7-18 from 14.1 overs, Ben Rosbottom 1-27 off 3, Lewis Wellings 1-32 from 5, Chris Brookes 1-47 off 11 and Jon Fenton 0-30 from 5.
Euxton v Thornton Cleveleys
Euxton won the toss at Balshaw Park and invited the visitors to bat first, they got off to a fast start due to Josh Borrell going at seven an over but in the fourth over Josh Boyden bowled Joshua Rolinson for 2 (10 balls), 21-1. Number three was Sam Curwen, disaster struck for the visitors losing two wickets in the same over, Nishan Peiris caught and bowled Josh Borrell for 22 (18 balls)(3x4,1x6), 30-2. in coming batsman Joshua Sackfield three balls later was caught by Max Harper for 0 (3 balls), 30-3
Will Weber joined Curwen but history then repeated itself with two wickets falling on the same score, Nishan Peiris had Will Weber caught behind by Jack Morgan for 11 (12 balls)(1x4,1x6), 48-4, next in was Jacob Sackfield and saw Sam Curwen fall bowled by Josh Boyden for 7 (34 balls)(1x4), 48-5. Christopher Hedges was the new batsman but one run later Jacob Sackfield was caught by James Bone off Josh Boyden for 1 (9 balls), 49-6.
Evan Martin walked to the wicket and saw his partner Christopher Hedges fall caught by Josh Boyden off Nishan Peiris for 1 (11 balls), 51-7. Jake Applerley was the new batsman and with Martin battled away, for the third time in the innings two wickets fell on the same score, Nishan Peiris took his fifth wicket Even Martin lbw for 7 (38 balls)(1x4), 78-8, Jake Apperley followed caught and bowled by James Bone for 17 (42 balls)(1x4), 78-9.
We now had number ten Etan Elphick and number eleven Anthony Ellison at the crease and they continued the fight but James Bone ended it having Anthony Elison caught by Nishan Peiris for 7 (11 balls) as Thornton Cleveleys were bowled out for 104 in 33.1 overs, Ethan Elphick was 19no (11 balls)(1x4,2x6).
Euxton only used four bowlers, Nishan Peiris took 5-31 from 14 over, Josh Boyden 3-23 off 11, James Bone 2-20 from 5.1 and Joesph Bowden 0-24 off 3.
Josh Tolley and Max Harper opened for the hosts and raced to victory knocking off the runs in just 17 overs, Josh Tolley was 59no (10x4,1x6) and Max Harper 38no (9x4).
The Thornton Cleveleys bowling was Christopher Hedges took 0-14 from 2 overs, Joshua Sackfield 0-19 off 4, Anthony Ellison 0-21 from 3, Joshua Rolinson 0-23 off 4 and Jake Apperley 0-23 from 4.
Great Eccleston v Fleetwood
Great Eccleston won the toss at Hall Lane and elected to bat first, Will Smith and Matthew Lawrenson were the opening pair, Hassan Mughal made the breakthrough bowling Matthew Lawrenson for 7 (19 balls)(1x4), 27-1, Alexander Rhodes was number three but was soon out caught by Muhammed Hurraira off Hassan Mughal for 3 (9 balls), 37-2.
Tyler McGaddery was the new batsman but with only six runs added was run out by Spencer Evans for 4 (19 balls), 43-3. The incoming batsman was Mohammed Fazil and with Will Smith began the rebuild, Nathan Bend broke the partnership Will Smith caught by Declan Clerkin for 26 (54 balls)(5x4), 61-4
Mohamed Nadeem joined Fazil but disaster struck for the hosts losing three wickets on the same score, Nathan Bend started the mini collapse bowling Mohamed Nadeem for 8 (29 balls)(2x4), 77-5. Matt Moat came to the wicket and saw Matthew Siddall take two wickets in an over, he caught and bowled Mohammed Fazil for 17 (56 balls)(3x4), 77-6, new man Joe McMillan was bowled four balls later for 0 (4 balls), 77-7.
Harish Hamsa replaced McMillan but disaster for the hosts with Matt Moat run out by Declan Clerkin for 1 (4 balls), 80-8. Phil Booth joined Hamsa but one run later Nathan Bend claimed his third victim bowling Harish Hamsa for 2 (7 balls), 81-9.
Chris Saunders came in at eleven but was soon out lbw to Nathan Bend for 2 (9 balls) as Great Eccleston were bowled out for 85 in 36.2 overs with Phil Booth 2no (9 balls).
Fleetwood only used four bowlers, Nathan Bend took 4-24 from 10.2 overs, Matthew Siddall 2-8 off 9, Hassan Mughal 2-33 from 8 and Declan Clerkin 0-20 off 9.
Due to the weather the Fleetwood target was set at 81 runs off 42 overs, Andy Drake and Jeremy Davies opened with an opening partnership of 49 when Andy Drake was caught by Will Smith off Mohamed Nadeem for 23 (61 balls)(3x4).
Muhammed Hurraira joined Davies and they saw Fleetwood to victory closing on 81-1 in 17.3 overs, Jeremy Davies was 35no (3x4,3x6) and Muhammed Hurraira 14no (19 balls)(1x4,1x6).
For Great Eccleston Mohamed Nadeem took 1-20 from 4 overs, Alexander Rhodes 0-16 off 5, Will Smit 0-19 from 1.3 and Phil Booth 0-22 off 7.
Morecambe v Barrow
Morecambe won the toss at Woodhill Lane and asked the visitors to bat first, Drew Postlethwaite was the first man out bowled by Lloyd (Adam)Smith for 14 (13 balls)(2x4), 24-1. The Barrow number three was Oliver Whalley and with Simon Chadd made steady progress until two wickets fell on the same score, Simon Chadd was caught by Joe Davies off Stefan Dixon for 26 (63 balls)(3x4), 60-2, Hardus Coetzer was next in but lost Oliver Whalley caught behind by Reuben Orr off Siddarth Ahhuja for 10 (38 balls)(1x4), 60-3.
The new batsman was Simon Dutton and with Coetzer upped the score rate, Siddarth Ahhuja struck trapping Hardus Coetzer lbw for 18 (25 balls)(1x4,1x6), 90-4. Jack Singleton replaced Coetzer and with Simon Dutton kept the scoreboard moving along, Usman Haider broke the partnership having Jack Singleton caught by Luke Pearson for 32 (54 balls)(5x4), 170-5. Ross McMurdo joined Dutton and they continued the search for runs, Simon Dutton fell with eleven balls remaining caught by Joe Davies off Usman Haider for 77 (88 balls)(11x4), 197-6.
Dan Adams was the new batsman and with McMurdo saw Barrow close on 206-6 in their 50 overs, Ross McMurdo was 10no (14 balls)(1x4) and Dan Adams 3no (5 balls).
The Morecambe bowling figures were Usman Haider 2-38 from 8 overs, Saddarth Ahhuja 2-44 off 15, Stefan Dixon 1-34 from 9, Lloyd (Adam) Smith 1-45 off 11, Joseph Bradshaw 0-19 from 2 and Regan Jackson 0-20 off 5.
The hosts got off to a poor start losing three early wickets, Daryl Wearing made the early breakthrough trapping Andrew Creech lbw for 10 (17 balls)(2x4), 11-1, number three was Luke Pearson who was quickly out caught behind by Drew Postlethwaite off Hardus Coetzer for 1 (5 balls), 16-2.
The incoming batsman was Joseph Bradshaw but with only one run added Siddarth Ahhuja was caught by Sam Dutton off Daryl Wearing for 1 (2 balls), 17-3. Joe Davies came in next but before Joseph Bradshaw could settle he was bowled by Hardus Coetzer for 13 (21 balls)(2x4), 30-4.
Reuben Orr had been watching the fall of wickets at the other end but now he was the man out caught behind by Drew Postlethwaite off Hardus Coetzer for 5 (30 balls)(1x4), 33-5. Benjy Orr joined Joe Davies and they began rebuilding the innings, Disaster struck for the hosts losing two wickets on the same score, Declan Tyson was brought on to bowl and in his second over took two wickets in three balls, Benjy Orr fell first caught by Jack Singleton for 29 (21 balls)(6x4), 73-6, new batsman Stefan Dixon two balls later was caught behind by Drew Postlethwaite for 0 (2 balls), 73-7.
Usman Haider replaced Dixon and with Davies took the score past the hundred when he was stumped by Drew Postlethwatie off Liam Walker for 8 (20 balls)(1x4), 106-8. Lloyd (Adam Smith was Davies's new partner but was soon out lbw to Declan Tyson for 1 (9 balls), 110-9.
Regan Jackson was the hosts number eleven, Hardus Coetzer was brought back into the attack and in his first over bowled Regan Jackson for 4 (15 balls) as Morecambe were bowled out for 123 in 38 overs, Joe Davies was 45no (87 balls)(6x4).
For Barrow Hardus Coetzer took 4-16 from 10, Declan Tyson 3-11 off 9, Daryl Wearing 2-58 from 10, Liam Walker 1-23 off 6 and Sam Dutton 0-15 from 3.
Preston v Penwortham
Penwortham won the toss at West Cliff and put the hosts into bat, Sajid Patel and Suhel Patel were the opening pair and were soon parted, Suhal Patel fell lbw to Isaac Roberts for 4 (13 balls), 11-1, Imran Mehmood came in at three and with Sajid Patel were keeping the scoreboard moving, Nathan Elliot halted the progress with two wickets in three balls, He had Imran Mehmood caught behind by Robbie Sumner for 1 (12 balls), 31-2, Navazish Ali came to the wicket but two balls later was caught by Nathan Walmsley for 0, 31-2.
Sajid Nalbandh was the new batsman but eight runs later was caught by Kriston Yearwood off Nathan Elliot for 4 (4 balls)(1x4), 39-4, Suhel Patel Jr joined Said Patel but unfortunately for the hosts Nathan Elliott again claimed two wickets in an over, Suhel Patel JR was caught by Ed Cox for 1 (2 balls), 44-5). Rizwan Banglawala came to the crease and two balls later became his fifth wicket caught by Jonathan Hothersall for 0, 46-6.
Basim Ali replaced Banglawala and in Nathan Elliott's next over fell caught and bowled for 0 (7 balls), 48-7. Sajid Patel was watching the collapse at the other end, he had a new partner in Talha Patel and they were beginning to build the score when Talha Patel was caught by Matt Halliday off Nathan Walmsley for 21 (17 balls)(3x4), 72-8.
Arbaz Khan was the new batsman dug in and gave Sajid Patel some support until he was trapped lbw by Ed Cox for 8 (39 balls)(1x4), 87-9. The Preston last man was Ismail Patel and he soon became Nathan Walmsley's second victim lbw for 6 (12 balls)(1x4) as Preston were bowled out for 97 in 36.3 overs, Sajid Patel carried his bat for 31no (111 balls)(2x4),
All the Penwortham bowlers took a wicket, Nathan Elliot took 6-44 from 10 overs, Nathan Walmsley 2-24 off 11.3, Ed Cox 1-11 from 8 and Isaac Roberts 1-16 off 7.
The Penwortham reply followed the pattern of the hosts with the opening bat deciding who won the game. Jonathan Hothersall and Robbie Sumner came to the wicket, Robbie Sumner was soon out caught by Imran Mehmood off Imran Patel for 4 (12 balls)(1x4), 7-1, Matt Halliday came in at three but quickly became wicket number two for Imran Mehmood caught by Sajid Nalbandh for 5 (11 balls), 16-2.
Kriston Yearwood was the new batsman but Imran Mehmood struck again having him caught by Ismail Patel for 1 (10 balls), 23-3. Nathan Elliott joined Hothersall and they had doubled the score when Nathan Elliott was caught by Ismail Patel off Talha Patel for 4 (13 balls), 47-4.
Kane Donaghy replaced Elliot but fell lbw to Arbaz Khan for 2 (13 balls), 52-5. Ian Walmsley Jnr was next in but in Arbaz Khan's next over was caught behind by Basim Ali for 0 (6 balls), 56-6.
The visitors were in trouble when Edward Duckworth came to the wicket and had added twenty runs with Hothersall when he was caught by Sajid Nalbandh off Talha Patel for 7 (15 balls)(1 x4), 76-7.
Ed Cox joined Hothersall and shortly afterwards Imran Mehmood struck having Jonathan Hotersall caught behind by Basim Ali for 50 (83 balls)(9x4), 84-8. The new batsman was Nathan Walmsley and he supported Ed Cox who saw the visitors home closing on 98-8 in 32.4 overs, Ed Cox was 12no (22 balls)(2x4) and Nathan Walmsley 1no (11 balls).
All the Preston bowlers took wickets. Imran Mehmood 3-38 from 12 overs, Talha Patel 2-16 off 9.4, Arbaz Khan 2-21 from 5 and Ismail Patel 1-20 off 6.
Whalley v Lytham
Lytham won the toss at Station Road and invited the hosts to take the first knock, Theo Keniford and Frankie Jackson were the opening batsmen, Theo Keniford was the first man out lbw to Sabbir Singh for 1 (32 balls), 17-1, Aman Singh came in at three but saw Sahaan Sahaan have Frankie Jackson caught by Myles Child for 14 (40 balls)(2x4), 21-2.
The new batsman was Levi Wolfenden but six runs later Aman Singh fell lbw to Sahaan Sahaan for 1 (17 balls), 27-3. Hamish Mullavey-Clark joined Wolfenden and they steadily built up the score, Disaster struck for the hosts losing three wickets for three runs two in one over, Sahaan Sahaan was the man doing the damage, he trapped Levi Wolfenden lbw for 38 (68 balls)(7x4), 83-4, in his next over he had Hamish Mullavey-Clark caught by Ryan Norris for 13 (49 balls)(1x4), 86-5, two balls later incoming batsman Ethan Jackson became his fifth wicket caught by Henry Roberts for 0 (2 balls), 86-6.
We now had two new batsmen Daniel Ainsworth and Thomas Cameron and they had taken the score past the hundred when Thomas Cameron was stumped by Stewart Davison off Sahaan Sahaan for 3 (19 balls), 104-7. Gary Barker joined Daniel Ainsworth and they saw Whalley close on 144-8 in their 50 overs with Daniel Ainsworth out on the last ball caught by Antony Mulligan off Archie Banks-Smith for 38 (59 balls)(5x4,1x6), Gary Barker was 7no (14 balls).
Sahaan Sahaan took 6-35 from 15 overs, Archie Banks-Smith 1-18 off 2, Sabbir Parel 1-20 from 10, Ben Saunders 0-26 off 9 andAntony Mulligan 0-34 from 14.
The Lytham reply got off to a bad start losing Edward Fiddler off the fourth ball of the first over caught behind by Thomas Cameron off Levi Wolfenden for 0 (4 balls), 0-1. Alex Higham came in at three, Levi Wolfenden struck again bowling Myles Child for 0 (18 balls), 15-2.
Henry Roberts was the next man in and four runs later saw Alex Higham fall caught and bowled by Frankie Jackson for 13 (22 balls)(1x4,1x6), 19-3. Things did not improve for the visitors as incoming batsman Sahaan Sahaan was bowled by Levi Wolfenden for 0 (6 balls), 23-4.
Stewart Davison joined Henry Roberts but before they could settle Levi Wolfenden claimed his fourth wicket bowling Henry Roberts for 11 (22 balls)(2x4), 39-5. next in was Ryan Norris who supported Davison, Frankie Jackson returned to the attack and in his second over had Ryan Norris caught by Daniel Ainsworth for 4 (17 balls), 58-6.
Archie Banks-Smith replaced Norris but soon lost his partner Stewart Davison, Levi Wolfenden's fifth wicket caught behind by Thomas Cameron for 20 (35 balls)(4x4), 66-7. Ben Saunders came to the wicket and saw Levi Wolfenden strike again trapping Archie Banks-Smith lbw for 5 (25 balls), 79-8.
Antony Mulligan was Ben Saunders's new partner and they were approaching the hundred when Ben Saunders was caught by Toby Birtwistle off Joshua Denith for 21 (40 balls)(2x4,1x6), 95-9. Coming in at eleven was Sabbir Patel and with the score on nelson Hamish Mullavey-Clark bowled Antony Mulligan for 20 (14 balls)(2x4,2x6)as Lytham were bowled out for 111 in 33 overs, Sabbir Singh was 0no (did not face a ball).
The Whalley bowling was Levi Wolfenden took 6-22 form 15 overs, Frankie Jackson 2-26 off 6, Hamish Mullavey-Clark 1-25 from 2, Joshau Dentith 1-26 off 9 and Toby Birtwistle 0-7 from 1.
