The Northern Cricket League Review

In the Northern Premier League 2026 season the League matches began today.

In Division 1 champions Kendal got off to a winning start at promoted St Annes, newly promoted Carlisle beat Chorley and Garstang defeated Settle, Blackpool had a home win against Leyland and Longridge won at home to Netherfield.

In Divison two both the new teams lost in their first matches, Fulwood & Broughton beat Whalley and Euxton Lytham, Barrow were winners against Preston, Fleetwood won against Morecambe, Penwortham won at Great Eccleston and Thornton Cleveleys were winners against Carnforth.

DIVISION ONE

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 1

Carlisle v Chorley

Chorley won the toss at Edenside and invited the hosts to bat first, Their opening pair of Zephania Arinaitwe and Tom Benn gave them a good start broken when Tom Benn was caught by Ed Catt off Toby Johnston for 10 (18 balls)(2x4), 51-1. Calum Rowe came in at three and with Arinaitwe were going very well, Zephania Arinaitwe reach his hundred but soon afterwards Luca Doyle bowled Calum Rowe for 25 (60 balls)(2x4), 148-2.

Michael Slack was next in but quickly lost Zephania Aronaitwe bowled by Luca Doyle for 109 (16x4,2x6), 154-3. Ben Davidson joined Slack and had the scoreboard ticking over, their partnership was broken with Kieran Yould stumping Ben Davidson off Edwin Moulton for 24 (32 balls)(1x4), 223-4.

Logan Edgar was the new batsman but was out one run later becoming wicket number three for Luca Doyle bowled for 1 (8 balls), 224-5. Alex Raybould came in next, into the last three overs Michael Slack fell caught behind by Kieran Yould off Miller Childs for 48 (63 balls)(4x4), 251-6.

Nico Watt replaced Slack but with only six runs added lost Alex Raybould caught by Keegan Petersen off Will Moulton for 8 (13 balls), 257-7. Ben Purdham came to the wicket and saw Nico Watt fall on the last ball of the innings caught by Ed Catt off Miller Childs for 7 (7 balls)(1x4) as Carlisle closed on 265-8 in their 50 overs with Ben Purdham 6no (5 balls).

The Chorley bowling was Luca Doyle took 3-67 from 14 overs, Miller Childs 2-11 off 2, Will Moulton 1-30 from 4, Toby Johnston 1031 off 5, Edwin Moulton 1-64 from 15, Ed Catt 0-22 off 4 and James Lee 0-33 from 6.

In reply Chorley lost an early wicket Miller Childs caught by Ben Davidson off Nico Watt for 8 (18 balls)(1x4), 16-1. The visitors number three was Keegan Petersen and with Edward Guyton were making steady progress when Keegan Petersen fell caught by Logan Edgar off Michael Slack for 7 (19 balls)(1x4), 45-2. Maxwell Seedall was next in but soon lost Edward Guyton caught behind by Craig Manchester off Michael Slack for 24 (52 balls)(3 x4), 58-3.

Will Moulton came in next and was quickly out lbw to Ben Purdham for 4 (11 balls), 67-4. Things did not improve for the visitors with incoming batsman Kieran Yould one run later caught by Michael Slack off Ben Purdham for 0 (4 balls), 68-5.

Edwin Moulton replaced Yould but saw Ben Purdham claim his third wicket Maxwell Seedall caught behind by Craig Manchester for 16 (28 balls)(1x4), 69-6. New batsman Luca Doyle did not fare any better than his predecessors falling caught and bowled to Ben Purdham for 2 (5 balls), 72-7.

Ed Catt joined Edwin Moulton and they took the score to 100, Nico Watt took his second wicket bowling Edwin Moulton for 12 (33 balls), 100-8, James Lee came to the wicket but two runs later lost Ed Catt caught and bowled by Ben Davidson for 11 (33 balls), 102-9.

Toby Johnston was in at eleven and soon fell to Ben Davidson caught and bowled for 1 (11 balls) as Chorley were bowled out for 107 in 36.5 overs with James Lee 4no (9 balls).

For Carlisle Ben Purdham took 4-9 from 6 overs, Ben Davidson 2-21 off 7.5, Michael Slack 2-25 from 8, Nnico Watt 2-38 off 13 and Kieran Titterington 0-10 from 2.

Garstang v Settle

Settle won the toss at the Riverside Sports ground and asked the hosts to bat first, Tom Higson and Michael Walling gave them a great start with Tom Higson leading the way, Michael Walling was the first wicket to fall caught by Angus Ogden off Sunny Singh for 18 (48 balls)(3x4), 98-1. Number three was Nisanth Nithian who became Sunny Singh's second victim caught by James Snowden for 10 (19 balls)(2x4), 126-2.

Lahiru Madushanka joined Higson and they were scoring freely, Tom Higson reached his century but shortly afterwards was trapped lbw by Harry Snowden for 108 (83 balls)(14x4,2x6), 176-3. Theo Smith was in next but quickly became wicket number two for Harry Snowden bowled for 4 (12 balls), 181-4.

Mark Walling replaced Smith and with Madushanka were scoring at over a run a ball into the last three overs when Mark Walling was stumped by Noah Smith off Sunny Singh for 57 (51 balls)(7x3,3x6), 310-5. Ian Walling was the new batsman and going for runs fell caught by Benjamin Hulse off Harry Snowden for 2 (4 balls), 313-6.

The incoming batsman was Matthew Crowther, Lahiru Madushanka reached his century and with Crowther saw Garstang close on 335-6 in their 50 overs, Lahiru Maushanka was 108no (80 balls)(8x4,8x6) and Matthew Crowther 4no (4 balls).

For Settle Harry Snowden took 3-88 from 14 overs, Sunny Sing 3-107 off 15, Seb Woods 0-18 from 4, Benjamin Hulse 0-47 off 7 and Will Davidson 0-68 from 10.

In reply the Settle openers Will Davidson and James Snowden had a steady start, Disaster struck for the visitors with the loss of three wickets for three runs. James Snowden was the first wicket to fall caught behind by Matthew Crowther off Lahiru Madushanka for 5 (5 balls)(1x4), 23-1. Benjamin Hulse was in at three but with only two runs added was caught behind by Matthew Crowther off Cory Cater for 0 (7 balls), 25-2. John Davidson came to the wicket but one run later was bowled by Lahuri Madushanka for 1 (3 balls), 26-3.

Sunny Singh was Will Davidson's new partner and they began to rebuild the innings, Cory Cater struck, Sunny Singh out caught behind by Matthew Crowther for 7 (9 balls)(1x4), 48-4. Next in was Seb Woods and he was going well until he fell lbw to Joe Barlow for 21 (16 balls)(5x4), 93-5.

Harry Snowden replaced Woods but once again the visitors lost three wickets for two runs. Will Davidson was caught behind by Matthew Crowther off Joe Barlow for 57 (35 balls)(9x4,2x6), 104-6. The new batsman was Joe Pickles and one run later saw Danny Gilbert bowl Harry Snowden for 2 (8 balls), 105-7. Angus Ogden was next in and quickly became Joe Barlow's third wicket caught by Tom Higson for 0 (6 balls), 106-8.

Noah Smith joined Pickles and they dug in and kept the scoreboard ticking over until Joe Barlow struck bowling Joe Pickles 218(34 balls)(3x4), 128-9. Jack Caton came in at eleven and with Noah Smith continued the fight, Lahiru Madushanka brought the innings to a close bowling Noah Smith for 22 (46 balls)(4x4) as Settle were bowled out for 164 in 35.5 overs with Jack Caton 8no (46 balls).

The Garstang bowling figures were Joe Barlow took 4-19 from 7 overs, Lahiru Madushanka 3-34 off 7.5, Cory Cater 2-65 from 9, Dannt Gilbert 1-22 off 7 and Tom Higson 0-11 from 5.

Leyland v Blackpool

Leyland won the toss at the Stanning Memorial ground and put Blackpool into bat, The opening pair of Ben Howarth and Dylan Henshall had taken the opening partnership past fifty when Ben Howarth was caught by Taj Ballantyne off Liam Hurt for 16 (25 balls)(3x4), 57-1. Andrew Needham was the visitors number three but five runs later Dylan Henshall fell lbw to Liam Hurt for 37 (44 balls)(6x4,1x6), 63-2.

Omar Tauqir was the new batsman but quickly became wicket number three for Liam Hurt caught by Jacob Wright for 1 (12 balls), 65-3. Ali Usman came to the wicket but things got worse for the visitors Andrew Needham was out caught by Luke Hands off Andrew Jacques for 11 (14 balls)(2x4), 75-4.

Matthew Taaffe replaced Needham but ten runs later Ali Usman was bowled by Sam Oldham for 3 (14 balls), 85-5. Stuart Ashford joined Matthew Taaffe and they were finding runs hard to come by, Sam Oldham claimed his second wicket Stuart Ashford caught by Karl Cross for 12 (48 balls), 112-6.

Matthew Grindley was next in but was soon out bowled by Taj Ballantyne for 4 (9 balls)(1x4), 125-7. The incoming batsman was Khalil Patel and he supported Matthew Taaffe until he fell caught by Xander Eyre off Taj Ballantyne for 5 (21 balls), 141-8.

Nate White was Matthew Taaffe's new partner and they saw Blackpool close on 163-8 in their 50 overs, Matthew Taaffe was 51no (97 balls)(4x4) and Nate White 3no (15 balls).

For Leyland Liam Hurt took 3-46 from 12 overs, Taj Ballantyne 2-32 off 15, Sam Oldham 3-38 from 15, Andrew Jacques 1-25 off 4 and Luke Hands 0-21 from 4.

In reply the hosts lost an early wicket Karl Cross caught by Omar Tauqir off Jamie Thomson for 5 (15 balls)(1x4), 19-1. Luke Hands was in at three and Xander Eyre was going along nicely until Jamie Thomson took two wickets in three balls, he had Xander Eyre caught by Andrew Needham for 27 (32 balls)(6x4), 39-2. Two balls later new batsman Sam Oldham was also caught Andrew Needham for 0 (2 balls), 39-3.

Jacob Wright was Luke Hands's new partner and runs were hard to come by, Khalil Patel broke the partnership having Luke Hands caught behind by Ben Howarth for 10 (37 balls)(1x4) 53-4. Andrew Makinson joined Jacob Wright and they were going well and in a strong position needing thirty runs off nine overs with six wickets in hand, the game changed with the dismissal of Andrew Makinson by Ali Usman lbw for 36 (78 balls)(6x4,1x6), 134-5.

Alex Sutcliffe replaced Makinson but soon became wicket number two for Ali Usman caught by Omar Tauqir for 6 (10 balls), 144-6. Liam Hurt was next in but two runs later he was trapped lbw by Ali Usman for 0 (7 balls), 146-7

Taj Ballantyne came to the wicket and saw Ali Usman claim the vital wicket of Jacob Wright caught by Dylan Henshall for 56 (98 balls)(5x4,1x6), 155-8. Ballantyne had a new partner in Andrew Jacques nine runs required off ten balls. Matthew Grindley struck having Taj Ballantyne caught by Matthew Taaffe for 3 (9 balls), 161-9.

Number eleven Waris Khan came to the wicket with three runs required off eight balls. Ali Usman with the fifth ball of the final over took his fifth wicket and secured victory for the Blackpool when Ben Howarth stumped Waris Khan for 0 (3 balls) as Leyland were bowled out for 162 in 49.5 overs two runs short of victory. Andrew Jacques was 4no (8 balls).

All the Blackpool bowlers took a wicket. Ali Usman took 5-39 from 14.5 overs with Jamie Thomson 3-33 off 8, Matthew Grindley 1-36 from 12 and Khalil Patel 1-36 off 15.

Longridge v Netherfield

Longridge won the toss at the Newsham Memorial ground and chose to bat first, Rhys Morgan was the early wicket to fall bowled by Abdi Dayyaan Galiem for 10 (6 balls)(1x4), 19-1. Coming in at number three was Luke Platt and with Joshua Mullin were moving the score along, the total was near the hundred when Oli Wileman was introduced into the attack, with his third ball he had Joshua Mullin caught behind by Shane Dixon for 40 (66 balls)(8x4), 96-2.

Matthew De Villiers was the new batsman and with Platt kept the scoreboard turning over, Oli Wileman broke the partnership , Luke Platt lbw for 45 (71 balls)(7x4), 125-3. Alex Mason joined De Villiers but was out seven runs later, Oli Wileman once again the bowler caught by Abdu Dayyaan Galiem for 0 (8 balls), 132-4.

Rob Hollinghurst was the new batsman, Matthew De Villiers was scoring at nearly a run a ball but became Oli Wileman's next victim lbw for 42 (45 balls)(6x4), 162-5. Rob Hollinghurst had a new partner in Kieran McClintock, Oli Wileman claimed his fifth wicket bowling Rob Hokkinghurst for 5 (14 balls), 175-6.

The next man in was Louie Trayers and with McClintock took the score past the two hundred when two wickets fell on the same score, That man Oli Wileman claimed his sixth wicket bowling Louie Trayers for 12 (13 balls)(3x4), 202-7, Joe Lyth came to the wicket but without any further addition Abdi Dayyaan Galiem bowled Kieran McClintock for 26 (25 balls)(4x4,1x6), 202-8.

Jake Durnell came to the crease but seven runs later he was bowled by Abdu Dayyaan Galiem for 1 (2 balls), 209-9. Number eleven was Jonathan Millward and with Joe Lyth leading the way were making good progress. Oli Wilman broke through with his seventh wicket bowling Jonathan Millward for 4 (11 balls)(1x4) as Longridge were bowled out for 232 in 47.3 overs, Joe Lyth was 21no (11 balls)(3x4,1x6).

Oli Wileman took 7-59 from 14.3 over supported by Abdu Dayyaan Galiem 3-68 off 12, Samuel Medhurst 0-21 from 4, Harry Lee 0-22 off 3 and Isaac Medhurst 0-55 from 14.

Netherfield got off to a bad start losing Reece Irving caught behind by Louie Trayers off Jonathan Millward for 6 (6 balls)(1x4), 6-1. The man in at three was Richard Everett and with Ben Barrow steadily built the score, Matthew De Villers made the breakthrough with two wickets in three balls, Ben Barrow caught behind by Louie Trayers for 11 (35 balls)(1x4), 44-2. two balls later he bowled Richard Everett for 15 (43 balls)(3x4), 45-3.

Abdu Dayyaan Galiem and Charlie Parkinson were the two new batsmen. Joe Lyth was brought on to bowl and in his first over had Charlie Parkinson lbw for 1 (8 balls), 66-4. Bert Medhurst joined Dayyaan Galiem and they were going well. their partnership was broken when Louie Trayers stumped Bert Medhurst off Alex Mason for 22 (44 balls)(4x4), 133-5, next in was Shane Dixon who was out two runs later caught by Joshua Mullin off Alex Mason for 0 (7 balls), 135-6.

Oli Wilman came to the wicket and continued the chase, he lost Abdu Dayyaan Galiem stumped by Louie Trayers off Jonathan Millward for 58 (55 balls)(4x4,3x6), 156-7. Harry Lee came to the wicket but was soon out caught by Alex Mason off Matthew De Villiers for 2 (6 balls), 163-8. Isaac Medhurst joined Oli Wileman and the chase was on. Jake Durnell ended the fight back with Oli Wileman caught by Matthew De Villiers for 29 (45 balls)(3x4), 195-9.

In at eleven was Samuel Medhurst who five runs later was bowled by Alex Mason for 2 (4 balls) as Netherfield were bowled out for 200 in 47.2 overs, Isaac Medhurst was 16no (37 balls)(1x4).

The Longridge bowling was Alex Mason took 3-29 from 9.2 overs, Matthew De Villiers 3-36 off 12, Jonathan Millward 2-38 from 9, Jake Durnell 1-26 off 9, Joe Lyth 1-37 from 5 and Kieran McClintock 0-20 off 3.

St Annes v Kendal

Kendal won the toss at Vernon Road and decided to bat first, They were going at four an over when they lost James Bowman caught by Evan Dobson off Rory Urquhart for 16 (18 balls)(3x4), 20-1. Finlay Richardson came in at three and with Darren Nightingale were going well. Zain Abbas broke the partnership bowling Darren Nightingale for 31 (47 balls)(5x4), 83-2.

Cole Abrahams was the new batsman but with only ten runs added lost Finlay Richardson caught by Ryan Birkman off Zain Abbas for 35 (49 balls)(4x4), 93-3, Freddie Fallows came to the wicket but one run later Zain Abbas claimed wicket number three bowling Cole Abrahams for 1 (11 balls), 94-4.

Bradley Earl joined Fallows but were parted by Zain Abbas having Freddie Fallows caught by Ethan Hill for 9 (18 balls)(1x4), 112-5. Ikram Ullah replaced Fallows, Adam Patel claimed his first wicket Bradley Earl lbw for 11 (29 balls)(1x4), 137-6.

Lewis Richardson was the new batsman but soon became Adam Patel's second victim caught by Zain Abbas for 7 (22 balls), 145-7. Christopher Miller came to the wicket but soon lost Ikram Ullah caught behind by James Bradley for 16 (33 balls)(1x4,1x6), 153-8.

Louis Backhouse was next in but three runs had been added when Zain Abbas claimed his fifth wicket Christopher Miller lbw for 0 (9 balls), 156-9. In came Taylor Finch at eleven, he was bowled by Adam Patel for 1 (8 balls) as Kendal were bowled out for 176 in 42.5 overs, Louis Backhouse was 19no (14 balls)(2x4,1x6).

The St Annes bowling was Zain Abbas took 5-42 from 15 overs, Adam Patel 4-23 off 6.5, Rory Urquhart 1-28 from 6, Muhammad Patel 0-32 off 5 and Lukman Vahaluwala 0-42 from 10.

The St Annes reply got off to a bad start losing three early wickets two in two balls, Lukman Vahauwala was the first man out lbw to Louis Backhouse for 12 (19 balls)(1x4,1x6), 16-1, number three Zain Abbas was out next ball bowled by Louis Backhouse for 0 (1 ball), 16-2.

Evan Dobson came to the crease but with only six runs added Ashton Charles became Louis Backhouse's third wicket bowled for 8 (25 balls)(1x4), 22-3. Adam Patel joined Dobson and they began to rebuild the innings , Adam Patel was the next man out caught behind by Finlay Richadson off Christopher Miller for 21 (28 balls)(4x4), 52-4. Jack Trohear came to the wicket but disaster struck for the hosts losing two wickets in two balls. Freddie Fallows did the damage trapping Jack Trohear lbw for 1 (10 balls), 55-5, incoming batsman James Bradley was out first ball caught behind by Finlay Richardson for 0 (1 ball), 55-6.

Rory Urquhart was Evan Dobson's next partner and they slowly built up the score, Louis Backhouse was brought back into the attack and with his first ball had Evan Dobson caught by Ikram Ullah for 11 (47 balls), 73-7. Ryan Birkman came to the wicket and soon became wicket number five for Louis Backhouse bowled for 9 (10 balls), 88-8.

Ethan Hill replaced Birkman but ten runs later lost Rory Urquhart caught by Freddie Fallows off Lewis Richardson for 22 (47 balls)(3x4), 98-9. Muhammad Patel came in at number eleven and with Ethan Hill began to accumulate the runs moving ever closer to the target but with the partnership on 50 Louis Backhouse struck to claim his sixth victim Ethan Hill bowled for 40 (48 balls)(4x4,1x6) as St Annes were bowled out for 148 in 44.3 overs with Muhammad Patel 9no (31 balls).

For Kendal Louis Backhouse took 6-46 from 14.3 overs, Freddie Fallows 2-22 off 15, Lewis Richardson 1-14 from 4, Christopher Miller 1-44 off 9 and Taylor Finch 0-12 from 2.

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 1

Barrow v Preston

Barrow won the toss at the Ernest Pass Ground and decided to bat first, Drew Postlethwaite and Sam Dutton got them off to a very good start, Navazish Ali broke the partnership bowling Sam Dutton for 26 (42 balls)(4x4), 66-1, Coming in at three for the hosts was Oliver Whalley and with Postlethwaite were going along nicely until Ismail Patel bowled Oliver Whalley for 25 (46 balls)(4x4), 119-2.

Hardus Coetzer was the new batsman but in Ismail Patel's next over he was trapped lbw for 1 (3 balls), 126-3, Jack Singleton was next in but soon became Ismail Patel's third victim caught behind by Rizwan Banglawala for 6 (20 balls), 146-6.

Simon Chadd replaced Singleton but one run later was stumped by Rizwan Banglawala off Talha Patel for 0 (8 balls), 147-5. Glen Kermode came to the wicket and once again Ismail Patel claimed a wicket Drew Postlethwaite lbw for 76 (107 balls)(10x4), 149-6.

Habibullah Stanikzai was Glen Kermode's new partner, Stanikzai was leading the way but lost Glen Kermode caught by Sajid Patel off Talha Patel for 2 (27 balls), 176-7. Declan Tyson came to the wicket but three runs later he was bowled by ShaidHusain Haji for 1 (7 balls), 179-8.

Daryl Wearing joined Stanikzai who was scoring at a run a ball but was next out bowled by Talha Patel for 26 (24 balls)(1x4,1x6), 189-9, Sam Henderson was the Barrow last man and saw Daryl Wearing fall caught by Sajid Patel off ShaidHusain Haji for 10 (10 balls) as Barrow were bowled out for 199 in 49.4 overs with Sam Henderson 0no (4 balls).

The Preston bowling was Ismail Patel 4-38 from 15 overs, Talha Patel 3-37 off 13, ShaidHusain Haji 2-41 from 7.4, Navazish Ali 1-30 off 7, Sajid Patel 0-14 from 2 and Amer Hernal 0-31 off 5.

In reply Preston lost an early wicket Sajid Patel caught by Declan Tyson off Hardus Coetzer for 13 (17 balls)(3x4), 14-1. Number three was Sajid Nalbandh who with Suhel Patel were progressing nicely until Declan Tyson struck with two wickets in an over, Sajid Nalbandh was the first to go lbw for 22 (25 balls)(3x4,1x6),68-2. Two balls later Suhel Patel also fell lbw for 26 (41 balls)(4x4), 69-3.

We now had two new batsmen Suhel Patel JR and Basim Ali, Four runs had been added when Declan Tyson struck again removing both batsmen in three balls, he bowled Basim Ali for 1 (4 balls), 68-4, two balls later Suhel Patel JR was out lbw for 3 (6 balls), 69-5.

Victory looked along way away when Navaziah Ali and Rizwan Banglawala came to the wicket, they kept the scoreboard ticking over and went past the hundred, Sam Henderson broke the partnership having Navazish Ali caught by Sam Dutton for 31 (36 balls)(4x4), 118-6. Ismail Patel joined Banglawala and they had put on thirty when Declan Tyson claimed his fifth wicket Rizwan Banglawala lbw for 27 (47 balls)(3x4), 131-7.

Talha Patel was the new batsman and dug in but was out caught by Declan Tyson off Sam Henderson for 6 (30 balls), 148-8. Amar Hernal was Ismail Patel's new partner but became Declan Tyson's sixth wicket caught behind by Drew Postlethwaite for 4 (10 balls), 157-9.

ShaidHusain Haji came in at eleven and with Ismail continued the chase, Sam Dutton claimed victory for the hosts by bowling HaidHusain Haji for 12 (14 balls)(1x4) as Preston were bowled out for 174 in 41 overs with Ismail Patel 15no (16 balls).

Fleetwood v Morecambe

Fleetwood won the toss at Broadwater and invited the visitors to bat first, Morecambe lost both openers early, Lewis Smith fell lbw to Jeremy Davies for 1 (8 balls), 8-1, Andrew Creech came in at three and saw Luke Pearson out lbw to Matthew Siddall for 5 (14 balls)(1x4), 14-2.

Siddarth Ahhuja joined Creech and they were progressing well with Siddath Ahhuja leading the way, Declan Clerkin was brought into the attack and in his second over bowled Andrew Creech for 31 (74 balls)(3x4), 111-3. Joseph Bradshaw was the new batsman and supported Ahhuja and they moved the score along. Sherzai Wali broke the blossoming partnership having Siddarth Ahhuja caught by Charlie Clark for 70 (76 balls)(10x4,1x6), 140-4.

Reuben Orr was next in, progress was being made when Sherzai Wali trapped Reuben Orr lbw for 9 (24 balls). 162-5. Next in was Usman Haider but disaster struck for the visitors losing five wickets for two runs, three wickets in one Matthew Siddall over, The collapse started with the Matthew Siddall over a wicket every second ball, Usman Haider caught by Nathan Bend for 16 (23 balls)(1x6), 187-6, new man Ashton Ward fell lbw for 0 (2 balls), next man in Lloyd (Adam) Smith lbw for 0 (2 balls), 187-8. Michael Bland came to the wicket and on his second ball was bowled by Sherzai Wali for 0 (2 balls), 188-9. Regan Jackson was the Morecambe number eleven and in the next over saw Matthew Siddall claim his fifth wicket Joseph Bradshaw stumped by Harry McAleer for 36 (48 balls)(1x4,2x6) as Morecambe were bowled out for 188 in 46.1 overs with Regan Jackson 0no (4 balls).

For Fleetwood Matthew Siddall took 5-34 from 14.1 overs, Sherzai Wali 3-54 off 13, Declan Clerkin 1-30 from 7, Jeremy Davies 1-35 off 6 and Nathan Bend 0-31 from 6.

The Fleetwood reply followed that of the visitors losing early wickets, Andy Drake fell lbw to Lloyd (Adam) Smith for 4 (4 ball)(1x4)5-1, Muhammed Hurraira came in at three but lost Jeremy Davies bowled by Regan Jackson for 0 (3 balls), 8-2.

Harry McAleer was the new batsman and lost his partner Muhammed Hurrairia lbw to Lloyd (Adam) Smith for 1 (17 balls), 16-3. Tomas King came to the wicket and soon became Lloyd (Adam) Smith's third lbw victim for 5 (5 balls)(1x4), 30-4.

Charlie Clark joined McAleer and they took the score past the hundred when Charlie Clark was caught by Reuben Orr off Siddarth Ahhuja for 29 (59 balls)(5x4), 106-5. Woody Wilson came to the wicket, Siddarth Ahhuja's struck claiming two wickets in two balls both lbw, Woody Wilson for 3 (19 balls) 114-6, new man Nathan Bend 0 (1 ball), 114-7.

Matthew Siddall was in next but Michael Bland took the vital wicket of Harry McAleer bowling him for 54 (90 balls)(8x4), 120-8, Sherzai Wali replaced McAleer but saw Michael Bland claim his second wicket Matthew Siddall caught by Siddarth Ahhuja for 6 (17 balls)(1 x4), 131-9.

Number eleven Declan Clerkin came to the wicket with Fleetwood needing fifty eight runs for victory for the last pair, they dug in and with Clerkin leading the way saw them home claiming victory in 47.2 overs with 192-9, Declan Clerkin was 30no (35 balls)(6x4) and Sherzai Wali 15no (34 balls)(3x4).

For Morecambe Siddarth Ahhuja took 3-34 from 15, Lloyd (Adam) Smith 3-34 off 9, Michael Bland 2-29 from 7, Regan Jackson 1-42 off 9.2 and Lewis Smith 0-41 from 7.

Fulwood & Broughton v Whalley

Whalley won the toss at the Highfield ground and asked the hosts to bat first, Matt Smith and Ewen Mansford opened with a run rate over seven, Ewen Mansford being the first to go bowled by Levi Wolfenden for 6 (10 balls)(1x4), 35-1. The hosts number three was Ben Rosbottom and with Matt Smith were keeping a good run rate when Levil Wolfenden claimed his second wicket Matt Smith caught by Frankie Jackson for 61 (44 balls)(11x4,1x6), 84-2.

Charlie Rossiter joined Rosbottom and were going very well their partnership was 142 when Levi Wolfenden was brought back into the attack and with his second ball trapped Ben Rosbottom lbw for 67 (123 balls)(7x4), 226-3, Clayton Stone was the new batsman and coming into the closing overs saw Levi Wolfenden claim his fourth wicket Charlie Rossiter caught by Hamish Mullavey-Clark for 85 (83 balls)(5x4,6x6), 246-4

Simon Kerrigan came to the wicket eager to score more runs, he was out caught by Daniel Ainsworth off Frankie Jackson for 11 (9 balls)(1x6), 279-5. James McWilliam replaced Kerrigan but Frankie Jackson struck again Clayton Stone caught by Toby Birtwistle for 28 (16 balls)(2x4,2x6), 288-6.

Ben Parkinson was next in and with McWilliam continued to go after the runs, Levi Wolfenden claimed his firth wicket James McWilliam caught behind by Thomas Cameron for 24 (15 balls)(3x4,1x6), 306-7.

Lewis Wellings came to the wicket for the last ball and scored two runs as Fulwood & Broughton closed on 308-7 in their 50 overs, Ben Parkinson was 2no (2 balls) and Lewis Wellings 2no (1 ball).

The Whalley bowling was Levi Wolfenden 5-80 from 14 overs, Frankie Jackson 2-82 off 9, Toby Birtwistle 0-36 from 6, Joshua Dentith 0-44 off 15 and Hamish Mullavey-Clark 0-60 from 6.

Chris Brookes made a quick breakthrough having Jamie Pilling caught by Ben Parkinson off the second ball of the innings for 0 (2 balls), 0-1. Coming in at three was Hamish Mullavey-Clark who was soon out caught behind by James McWilliam off Lewis Wellings for 4 (11 balls)(1x4), 16-2.

Levi Wolfenden was the new batsman and with Frankie Jackson were making steady progress when Chris Brookes struck again having Levi Wolfenden lbw for 12 (21 balls)(2x4), 41-3. Richard Palmer joined Jackson but was soon out caught behind by James McWilliam off Lewis Wellings for 5 (12 balls)(1x4), 52-4.

Sam Jackson was next in but with only one run added he fell lbw to Chris Brookes for 0 (2 balls), 53-5. The incoming batsman was Daniel Ainsworth but things went from bad to worse as Chris Brookes took his fourth wicket Frankie Jackson caught by Simon Kerrigan for 24 (46 balls)(4x4), 58-6.

Aman Singh was Ainsworth's new partner but he quickly became wicket number five for Chris Brookes bowled for 0 (6 balls), 66-7. Thomas Cameron came to the wicket but with only four runs added lost Daniel Ainsworth caught by Matt Smith off Kashif Jamil for 8 (19 balls)(2x4), 70-8. Kashif Jamil soon accounted for the next batsman Toby Birtwistle bowling him for 1 (9 balls), 78-9.

The Whalley number eleven was Joshua Dentith and with Cameron had put on twenty runs when Ben Rosbotton had Thomas Cameron caught by Ewen Mansford for 11 (26 balls)(2x4) as Whalley were bowled out for 98 in 26.3 overs, Joshua Dentith was14no (5 balls)(3x4).

The Fulwood & Broughton bowling figures were Chris Brookes 5-14 from 11 overs, Kashif Jamil 2-13 off 4, Lewis Wellings 2-33 from 7, Ben Rosbottom 1-19 off 2.3 and Simon Kerrigan 0-9 from 2.

Lytham v Euxton

Euxton won the toss at Church Road and chose to bat first, Josh Tolley and Max Harper opened for Euxton but were soon parted Josh Tolley caught behind by Myles Child off Josh Holden for 7 ((11 balls)(1x4), 14-1. The Euxton number three was James Bone and with Max Harper slowly moved the score along, Richard Openshaw broke through having Max Harper caught by Ryan Norris for 18 (37 balls)(3x4), 46-2.

Ben Houghton was next in and with Bone had put on 79 runs when both were out on the same score, James Bone was first to go bowled by Ben Saunders for 44 (9 balls)(4x4), 125-3, Josh Boyden was the new batsman but without addition lost Ben Houghton caught by Josh Holden off Sahaan Sahaan for 38 (64 balls)(5x4,1x6), 125-4.

Nishan Peiris joined Boyden and kept the scoreboard ticking over. Disaster struck the visitors losing their last six wickets for eleven runs, Nishan Priris was out caught behind by Myles Child off Sahaan Sahaan for 14 (19 balls)(2x4), 153-5, Four runs had been added when Ben Saunders took two wickets in an over, new batsman Danny Curtis was stumped by Myles Child for 2 ( 8 balls), 157-6, one run later he bowled Jack Morgan for 0 (3 balls), 158-7.

The incoming batsman was Joseph Barker and one run later Josh Boyden was the next man out caught behind by Myles Child off Ben Saunders for 15 (16 balls)(1x6), 159-8. Alfie Delve joined Barker, Joseph Barker fell caught by Ryan Norris off Sahaan Sahaan for 1 (3 balls),162-9.

Joseph Bowden came in at eleven but was quickly became Sahaan Sahaan's fifth victim bowled for 0 (7 balls) as Euxton were bowled out 164 in 45.2 overs with Alfie Delve 2no (6 balls).

For Lytham Sahaan Sahaan took 5-21 from 5.2 overs, Ben Saunders 3-40 off 12, Richard Openshaw 1-18 from 5, Josh Holden 1-23 off 11, Archie Banks-Smith 0-27 from 4 and Sabbir Patel 0-30 off 8.

The hosts got off to a bad start losing Edward Fiddler in the first over caught by Josh Boyden off Joseph Bowden for 0 (5 balls), 1-1, Alex Higham came in at three and with Myles Child were finding runs hard to come by, Joseph Bowden struck again taking a wicket in consecutive overs, he had Myles Child caught behind by Jack Morgan for 0 (20 balls), 23-2, in his next over Alex Higham was caught by Josh Boyden for 21 (26 balls)(5x4), 25-3.

We now had two new batsmen Sahaan Sahaan and Henry Roberts, they had doubled the score when Sahaan Sahaan was caught by Josh Tolley off Nishan Peiris for 12 (33 balls)(1x4), 50-4. Ryan Norris was next in and soon became Nishan Priris's next victim caught by Max Harper for 1 (10 balls), 53-5.

Josh Holden came to the wicket and supported Henry Roberts until he was bowled by Josh Boyden for 6 (23 balls)(1x4), 81-6. Archie Banks-Smith was the new batsman and with Roberts were getting the innings back on track, disaster struck for the hosts with Archie Banks-Smith run out by Josh Boyden for 16 (29 balls)(1x4), 110-7.

Ben Saunders joined Roberts but with the score on the dreaded nelson Henry Roberts was caught and bowled by Nishan Peiris for 43 (83 balls)(4x4), 111-8. Richard Openshaw replaced Roberts soon became Josh Boyden's second wicket bowled for 1 (13 balls), 120-9.

Last man in for Lytham was Sabbir Patel and with Ben Saunders steadily accumulated until Josh Boyden claimed victory for the visitors bowling Sabbir Patel for 7 (25 balls) as Lytham were bowled out for 149 in 49.1 overs with Ben Saunders 15no (28 balls)(1x4).

The Euxton bowling was Joseph Bowden took 3-12 from 6 overs, Nishan Peiris 3-32 off 15, Josh Boyden 3-48 from 13.1, Joseph Barker 0-23 off 6 and James Bone 0-28 from 9.

Penwortham v Great Eccleston

Penwortham won the toss at Middleforth Green and put the visitors into bat, They lost an early wicket Matthew Lawrenson bowled by Matthew Finnerty for 0 (7 balls), 7-1, Alexander Rhodes was in at three and with Will Smith were moving the score along, Matthew Finnerty claimed his second wicket Alexander Rhodes caught by Ian Walmsley Jnr for 15 (14 baqlls)(3x4), 33-2.

Mohammed Fazil was next in and he battled away until he fell lbw to Nathan Elliott for 11 (30 balls)(1x4), 56-3. The incoming batsman was Mohamed Nadeem but he quickly became wicket number two for Nathan Elliott lbw for 1 (4 balls), 68-4.

Matt Moat joined Will Smith and they were going along nicely with a partnership of 55 broken by Ed Cox, he caught and bowled Will Smith for 38 (112 balls)(4x4), 123-5. Joe McMillan was the new batsman but shortly afterwards Charlie Parker took two wickets in an over, Joe McMillan was his first victim lbw for 3, (15 balls), 133-6, Harish Hamsa replaced McMillan and three balls later was caught and bowled for 0. 133-7.

Will Turnbull came in next and with Matt Moat took the score past the 150 when three wickets fell for two runs, Matt Moat was stumped by Robbie Sumner off Charlie Parker for 30 (62 balls)(1x4,1x6), 157-8. In came Phil Booth and one run later was caught by Isaac Roberts off Nathan Walmsley for 0 (6 balls), 158-9.

Jim Proctor was number eleven but he quickly lost his partner Wil Turnbull stumped by Robbie Sumner off Charlie Parker for 14 (26 balls)(2x4) as Great Eccleston were bowled out for 159 in 46.1 overs. Jim Proctor was 0no (he did not face a ball).

The Penwortham bowling was Charlie Parker 4-17 from 5.1 overs, Isaac Roberts 2-20 off 7, Matthew Finnerty 2-23 from 7, Nathan Elliott 2-31 off 7, Ed Cox 1-12 from 4, Nathan Walmsley 1-33 off 14 and Kriston Yearwood 0-13 from 2.

In reply like the visitors like the hosts lost an early wicket, Robbie Sumner bowled by Alexander Rhodes for 7 (8 balls)(1x4), 7-1. Jonathan Hothersall came in at three and supported Ian Walmsley Jnr in the pursuit of victory, Alexander Rhodes struck to break the partnership bowling Jonathan Hothersall for 13 (35 balls)(2x4), 67-2.

Kane Donaghy came to the wicket and with Elliot took the score past the hundred, Alexander Rhodes claimed his third victim Kane Donaghy caught by Mohammed Fazil for 12 (33 balls)(2x4), 104-5. Charlie Parker replaced Donaghy but with only six runs added Jim Proctor bowled Nathan Elliott for 15 (39 balls)(1x6), 110-6.

Ed Cox joined Parker but he was soon out stumped by Matthew Lawrenson off Jim Proctor for 5 (8 balls)(1x4), 121-7. Charlie Parker's new partner was Nathan Walmsley and they saw the hosts to victory in 163-7 in 44.3 overs. Charlie Parker was 30no (38 balls)(3x4,2x6) and Nathan Walmsley 17no (37 balls)(2x4,1x6)

Thornton Cleveleys v Carnforth

Carnforth won the toss at Illawalla and invited the hosts to bat first. James Park Johnson had an early success trapping Josh Borrell lbw for 5 (6 balls)(1x4), 9-1. The Thornton Cleveleys number three was Sam Curwen and he soon lost Joshua Rolinson caught by Zack Dodds off Dylan Conroy for 10 (37 balls)(2x4), 25-2.

The incoming batsman was Joshua Sackfield and with Curwen supporting had the scoreboard ticking over, Tom Parkinson broke the partnership having Sam Curwen caught behind by Bradley Hoyle for 19 (70 balls)(2x4), 67-3. Will Weber joined Sackfield and they had put on 101 runs when James Park Johnson took two wickets in two balls, Will Weber was caught by Tom Parkinson for 57 (42 balls)(4x4,6x6), 168-4. next ball Jacob Sackfield was out lbw for 0 (1 ball), 168-5.

Christopher Hedges replaced Sackfield, he saw his partner reach his century and saw the hosts close on 298-5 in their 50 overs, Joshua Sackfield was 122no (100 balls)(8x4,8x6) and Christopher Hedges 55no (46 balls)(7x4,1x6).

James Park Johnson took 3-62 from 14 overs, Tom Parkinson 1-69 off 9, Dylan Conroy 1-85 from 14, James Parkinson 0-13 off 2, Freddie Whatmuff 0-23 from 2 and Zack Dodds 0-33 off 8.

Bradley Hoyle and Ryan Nelson opened, Bradley Hoyle was first out caught by J Sackfield off Christopher Hedges for 6 (16 balls)(1x4), 21-1. Number three was Jaco Beneke and with Nelson were making steady progress, diasaster struck for the visitors with both batsmen falling on the same score, Ryan Nelson was run out by J Sackfield for 27 (44 balls)(4x4), 54-2, Jaco Beneke was caught by Will Weber off Joshua Rolinson for 12 (19 balls)(1x4,1x6), 54-3.

We now had two new batsmen James Park Johnson and Freddie Whatmuff, only six runs had been added when James Park Johnson was caught by Evan Martin off Anthony Ellison for 8 (8 balls)(2x4), 62-4. Sam Frith was next in but did not last long becoming Anthony Ellison's second wicket caught by J Sackfield for 4 (5 balls)(1x4), 71-5.

Dylan Conroy replaced Frith, once again none of the visiting batsmen could make a score, Dylan Conroy was the next man out caught by J Sackfield off Jake Applerley for 13 (12 balls)(2x6), 90-6, Tom Parkinson came to the wicket but one run later Jake Apperley struck again having Freddie Whatmuff caught by Joshua Rolinson for 8 (24 balls)(2x4), 91-7.

Jack Huntington was the new batsman and quickly became wicket number three for Jake Apperley caught by Josh Borrelll for 4 (10 balls), 101-8. Zack Dodds joined Parkinson but on 108 was caught by Ethan Elphick off Anthony Ellison for 6 (8 balls)(1x4), 108-9.

Number eleven was James Parkinson but without further additon Jake Applerley bolwed Tom Parkinson for 7 (12 balls)(1x4) as Carnforth were bowled out for 108 in27.2 overs, James Parkinson was 0no (1 ball).
