Round four of the 40 Over League Cup competition saw the teams fighting for the eight places to progress to the final stages being reduced to a probable eleven teams
We now have only three sides with a 100% record, Fleetwood, Garstang and Leyland.
Victories for Carlisle, Blackpool, Chorley,and Netherfield put them along with Euxton with a chance of being in the final eight.
40 OVER LEAGUE CUP COMPETITION: ROUND 4
Barrow v Carlisle
Barrow won the toss at the Ernest Pass Memorial ground and chose to bat first, Drew Postlethwaite and Sam Dutton gave them a good start their partnership broken by Brodie Glendinning having Drew Postlethwaite caught by Ben Davidson for 40 (55 balls)(6x4), 80-1.
The man in at three was Dikshant Vairagi but was soon out stumped by Tom Benn off Fraser Conn for 5 (15 balls), 104-2, the new batsman Simon Chadd did not fare any better than his predecessor out lbw to Nico Watt for 0 (7 balls), 105-3.
Jack Singleton joined Sam Dutton and they steadily began to rebuild the innings until Sam Dutton was caught by Nico Watt off Michael Slack for 77 (92 balls)(10x4, 1x6), 140-4.
Daryl Wearing was next in but fell to Michael Slack bowled for 9 (9 balls)(2x4), 150-5. That was the last success for the visitors as Jack Singleton 28no (43 balls)(1x4, 1x6) and Sam Henderson 19no (20 balls)(1x6) saw the hosts close on 185-5 in their 40 overs.
The Carlisle bowling figures were Michael Slack 2-39 from 8 overs, Brodie Glendinning 1-17 off 4, Fraser Conn 1-23 from 8, Nico Watt 1-40 off 8, Johnny Westgarth 0-25 from 4 and Ben Purdham 0-39 off 8.
The Carlisle openers Zephania Arinaitwe and Marc Brown got off to an explosive start, Zephania Arinaithe teams twe out in the fifth over caught behind by Drew Postlethwaite off Sam Henderson for 28 (14 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 39-1.
Matthew Brown came in and things did not improve for the Barrow bowlers, The batsmen were going at over eight an over when Marc Brown was out stumped by Drew Postlethwaite off Dikshant Vairagi for 72 (56 balls)(8x4, 4x6), 176-2.
Michael Slack came to the wicket supporting Matthew Brown as Carlisle raced to victory on 187-2 in 20.2 overs with Matthew Brown 63no (44 balls)(6x4, 3x6) and Michael Slack 10no (9 balls)(2x4).
The bowling figures were Sam Henderson 1-32 from 4 overs, Dikshant Vairagi 1-33 off 3.2, Sajid Khan 0-24 from 2, Gary Collins 0-25 off 3, Sam Dutton 0-31 from 4 and Daryl Wearing 0-36 off 4.
Fleetwood v Euxton
Fleetwood won the toss at Broadwater and decided to bat first, Tomas King and Andy Drake opened with Drake being the first out caught by Louis Sweeney off Joseph Bowden for 16 (36 balls)(2x4), 27-1.
Charlie Clark was the Fleetwood number three but soon lost Tomas King caught by Ben Houghton off Joseph Barker for 14 (16 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 46-2, Michael Rippon joined Clark and they took control with Rippon leading the way. Joseph Barker broke the partnership of 145 having Michael Rippon caught by Jack Shovelton for 92 (93 balls)(6x4, 6x6), 191-3.
The new man in was Harry McAleer and with Clark saw the hosts close on 240-3 in their 40 overs, Charlie Clark was 65no (80 balls)(6x4, 1x6) and Harry McAleer 28no (20 balls) (4x4).
For Euxton Joseph Barker took 2-54 from 8 overs, Joseph Bowden 1-36 off 8, James Bone 0-27 from 8, Louis Sweeney 0-32 off 5, Ben Houghton 0-35 from 3 and Josh Tolley 0-49 off 8.
The Euxton reply did not start well losing two wickets with the score on ten, Josh Tolley was the first to go caught behind by Harry McAleer off Declan Clerkin for 7 (14 balls), 10-1, fellow opener Jack Shovelton was caught behind by Harry McAleer off Hassan Mughal for 2 (8 balls), 10-2.
The two new batsmen were Hackeem Perryman and Ben Houghton, Hassan Mughal struck again bowling Ben Houghton for 4 (2 balls), 15-3, James Bone came to the wicket but lost his partner Hackeem Perryman bowled by Declan Clerkin for 0 (13 balls), 25-4.
Max Harper was next in but with only seven runs added Hassan Mughal had James Bone caught behind by Harry McAleer for 11 (19 balls)(2x4), 32-5.
Jack Morgan was Max Harper's new partner but he soon became victim number four for Hassan Mughal caught by Michael Rippon for 4 (9 balls), 42-6.
In next was Joseph Barker but the introduction of Matthew Siddall into the attack saw him have Joseph Barker caught by Andy Drake for 9 (16 balls), 57-7.
Matthew Siddall struck again in his next over bowling new batsmen Danny Curtis for 1 (3 balls), 59-8. Louis Sweeney was in next and was supporting Max Harper until Harper fell caught by Michael Rippon off Matthew Siddall for 34 (32 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 80-9.
The Euxton innings came to a close on 84 all out in 21.4 overs with Michael Rippon bowling Louis Sweeney for 3 (10 balls) with Joseph Bowden 2no (4 balls).
Hassan Mughal took 2-25 from 7 overs, Matthew Siddall 3-16 off 4, Declan Clerkin 2-13 from 5 and Michael Rippon 1-28 off 5.4.
Garstang v Carnforth
Carnforth won the toss at Lodge Quarry and chose to bat first, They lost two early wickets Joe Barlow claiming two wickets in three balls in his second over, Bradley Hoyle was caught behind by Matthew Crowther for 1 (16 balls), 6-1, two balls later Jaco Beneke was caught by Danny Gilbert for 0 (2 balls), 6-2.
Freddie Whatmuff had a new partner in James Park-Johnson, Danny Gilbert was brought into the attack and in his first over had James Park-Johnson caught behind by Matthew Crowther for 6 (16 balls), 29-3, next in was Chris Park-Johnson who soon fell to the same combination out caught behind by Matthew Crowther bowled Danny Gilbert for 3 (12 balls), 42-4.
Shane Dixon joined Whatmuff and they doubled the score, Danny Gilbert was the man to break the partnership having Shane Dixon caught by Corey Cater for 14 (27 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 87-5.
The new batsman was Tom Parkinson but was quickly out caught by Sumit Ruikar off Ian Walling for 1 (5 balls), 90-6. Romario Brathwaite replaced Parkinson but lost his partner Freddie Whatmuff caught by Michael Wellings off Sumit Ruikar for 51 (83 balls)(5x4), 103-7.
Jack Thompson came to the wicket but with only one run added Romario Brathwaite was stumped by Matthew Crowther off Sumit Ruikar for 3 (10 balls), 104-8. Danny Gilbert claimed his fourth victim incoming batsman James Parkinson caught by Joseph Pearson for 0 (4 balls), 105-9.
The Carnforth innings closed on 117 all out in 33.4 overs with Sam Woodburn caught behind by Matthew Crowther off Corey Cater for 0 (9 balls) with Jack Thompson 10 no (18 balls).
Wicket Keeper Matthew Crowther had five victims in the innings.
Danny Gilbert lead the way with 4-32 from 8 overs with Sumit Ruikar 2-16 off 8, Joe Barlow 2-16 from 6, Ian Walling 1-12 off 5 and Corey Cater 1-24 from 6.4.
The Garstang reply saw James Park-Johnson bowl Michael Walling for 6 (5 balls)(1x6), 7-1, Number three Joseph Pearson with Matthew Crowther were moving the score along until Matthew Crowther was caught by Freddie Whatmuff off Romario Brathwaite for 10 (13 balls), 32-2.
Dan Curwen joined Joseph Pearson and they were going well, Jack Thompson was the man to make the breakthrough having Dan Curwen caught by James Park-Johnson for 21 (13 balls)(5x4), 79-3.
Sumit Ruikar was the new batsman but he became Jack Thompson's second wicket caught by Sam Woodburn for 1 (8 balls), 86-4. Ian Walling was next in and with victory in sight and the score on the dreaded ""nelson" he was out caught by Sam Woodburn off James Parkinson for 17 (13 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 111-5.
Danny Gilbert replaced Walling but saw Joseph Pearson bowled by Jack Thompson for 44 (60 balls)(10 x4,), 115-6, Michael Wellings came to the wicket and hit his first ball for four to give victory to Garstang on 119-6 in 19.2 overs with Danny Gilbert 4no (5 balls).
The Carnforth bow;ing was Jack Thompson 3-14 from 4.2 overs, James Parkinson 1-4 off 1, Romario Brathwaite 1-25 from 3, James Park-Johnson 1-32 off 5, Sam Woodburn 0-20 from 2 and Jaco Benke 0-24 off 4.
Great Eccleston v St Annes
Great Eccleston won the toss at Hall Lane and elected to bat, Nisanth Nithian and Rishit Sharma got them off to a good start, Rory Urquhart broke the partnership having Rishit Sharma caught by Nathan Bolus for 21 (22 balls)(5x4), 48-1.
Alexander Rhodes came in at three for the hosts, Nisanth Nithian was dominating the strike, he lost Alexander Rhodes caught by Christopher Wilson off Ethen Hill for 8 (7 balls), 80-2.
Mohhamed Nadeem came in next and with Nithian kept up the run rate, their partnership of 53 ended with Mohamed Nadeem caught by Rory Urquhart off Ockert Erasmus for 24 (24 balls)(4x4), 133-3.
Alex Swale joined Nithian and they took the score past the two hundred, Nisanth Nithian reached his century, Nisanth Nithian was next out caught by Ashton Charles off Alex Urquhart for 124, (90 balls)(21x4, 2x6), 216-4.
Joe McMillan replaced Nithain and the run fest continued, there were eight balls remaining when Joe McMillan was out caught by Rory Urquhart off Ashton Charles for 62 (33 balls)(4x4, 6x6), 301-5.
The Great Eccleston innings closed on 309-5 in their 40 overs with Alex Swale 51no (62 balls)(5x4, 1x6) and Sandeep Gorige 3no (4 balls).
For St Annes Ashton Charles took 1-18 from 2, Ethan Hill 1-20 off 3, Ockert Erasmus 1-24 from 8, Rory Urquhart 1-33 off 4, Alex Urquhart 1-63 from 8, Ryan Birkman 0-20 off 1, Keith Reid 0-56 from 6 and Nathan Bolus 0-70 off 8.
The St Annes openers were soon parted with Nathan Armstrong caught by Alexander Rhodes off Mohamed Nadeem for 8 (22 balls), 10-1, Ockert Erasmus came in at three and got the scoreboard moving along, he lost Christopher Wilson caught by Mohamed Naddem off Will Proctor for 3 (36 balls),39-2.
Luke Jardine joined Erasmus and they got the visitors up with the run rate and going well, Luke Jardine reached his century but soon afterwards fell caught behind by Rishit Sharma off William Turnbull for 110 (56 balls)(18x4, 3x6), 214-3.
Nathan Bolus was in next but was soon out stumped by Rishit Sharma off Jim Proctor for 9 (9 balls), 232-4. Ashton Charles was the new batsman but was out lbw to Mohamed Nadeem for 4 (9 balls), 246-5.
William Turnbull took the vital wicket of Ockert Erasmus caught behind by Rishit Sharma for 98 (76 balls)(12x4, 1x6), 260-6. St Annes required 50 runs from 5 overs with 4 wickets remaining.Alex Urquhart and Ethan Hill were the new batsmen and were scoring at a run a ball until Alexander Rhodes bowled Alex Urquhart for 15 (14 balls), 283-7.
Ryan Birkman came in but was caught and bowled by Alexander Rhodes for 6 (2 balls)(1x6), 289-8. The new batsman was Rory Urquhart, we were now in the last over and desperate for runs, Ethan Hill was run out by William Turnbull for 11 (13 balls), 294-9.
In at number eleven was Keith Reid who was out caught and bowled by Alexander Rhodes for 0 (1 ball) as St Annes were 295 all out in 39.4 overs.

Kendal v Chorley
Kendal won the toss at Shap Road and invited the visitors to bat first, they had early success with Will Moulton run out by Finlay Richardson for 7 (9 balls), 24-1.
Edwin Moulton was the new batsman but was soon out caught by Cole Abrahams off James Bowman for 6 (13 balls), 37-2, next in was Keegan Petersen who upped the run rate, the introduction of Christopher Miller had an immediate effect with his second ball having Miller Childs stumped by Finlay Richardson for 42 (46 balls)(4x4, 3x6), 62-3.
Maxwell Seedall replaced Childs and with Petersen made good progress, with their partnership on 99 Maxwell Seedall was caught by Freddie Fallows off Bradley Earl for 50 (71 balls)(2x4, 2x6), 171-4.
Zayn Wadiwala joined Petersen and they saw Chorley close on 233-4 in their 40 overs, Keegan Petersen reached his century with a six and was 103no (83 balls)(5x4, 6x6) with Zayn Wadiwala 17no (18 balls)(2x4).
The bowling figures were Christopher Miller 1-41 from 8 overs, James Bowman 1-44 off 8, Bradley Earl 1-53 from 8, Sam Sharp 0-32 off 8 and Freddie Fallows 0-62 from 8.
The Kendal innings did not get off to the best of starts, Freddie Fallows was out caught by Joseph Tiffin off Edwin Moulton for 8 (5 balls) (2x4), 12-1. Finlay Richardson came in at three but was run out by Edwin Moulton for 5 (15 balls), 38-2.
Darren Nightingale had a new partner in Cole Abrahams and they were scoring at a run a ball when Sam Steeple had Cole Abrahams caught by Keegan Petersen for 27 (25 balls)(3x4, 1x6), 97-3.
Bradley Earl was next in but with only 16 runs added Bradley Earl was caught by James Dunn off Sam Steeple for 14 (10 balls)(3x4), 113-4.
The new batsman was James Bowman and with Nightingale had the score moving along until disaster struck for the home side losing three wickets in four balls in a Keegan Petersen over, Petersen bowled Darren Nightingale for 58 (59 balls)(5x3, 4x6), 147-5, two balls later he caught and bowled Sam Sharp for 0 (2 balls), 147-6. next ball he bowled new batsman Louis Backhouse for 0 (1 ball), 147-7.
Kendal now required 87 from 16 overs with only three wickets left, Christopher Miller replaced Backhouse and with Bowman set about chasing down the score, they took the score to just past the two hundred mark when both fell on the same score. Keegan Petersen trapped Christopher Miller lbw for 32 (48 balls)(3x4, 1x6), 202-8. James Bowman followed bowled by Maxwell Seedall for 40 (51 balls)(3x4), 202-9.
The Kendal innings closed on 208 all out in37.4 overs with Joseph Tiffin bowling Joseph Dodds for 5 (4 balls) with Robbie McCrae 1no (6 balls).

Leyland v Longridge
Leyland won the toss at the Stanning Memorial ground and asked the visitors to bat first, Taariq Chiecktey and Joshua Mullin were the opening pair, Joshua Mullin was the first to go caught and bowled by Andrew Jacques for 8 (10 balls), 16-1.
The Longridge number three was Luke Platt and with Chiecktey kept the scoreboard ticking over, Ross Bretherton was brought into the attack and in his second over he had Taariq Chiecktey caught by Karl Cross for 23 (33 balls)(3x4, 1x6), 58-2.
Zac Christie was the new batsman and was scoring freely until he was trapped lbw by Ross Bretherton for 16 (15 balls)(2x4), 78-3, Zach Proctor was next in but soon became wicket number three for Ross Bretherton out caught by Luke Hands for 5 (16 balls), 84-4.
Rob Hollinghurst was Luke Platt's new partner, they had just pasted the hundred when Rob Hollinghurst was caught by Karl Cross off Will Smith for 8 (17 balls), 103-5. Kieran McClintock was next in, with their partnership on 45 Kieran McClintock was caught by Sam Oldham off Ned Patterson for 22 (28 balls)(2x4), 148-6.
Tom Howarth joined Luke Platt and they saw the visitors close on 176-6 in their 40 overs, Luke Platt was 64no (107 balls)(8x4) with Tom Howarth 20no (14 balls)(3x4).

The opening pair of Karl Cross and Alexander Eyre gave the hosts a great start of 84 for the first wicket, Karl Cross the man out caught by Joshua Mullin off Jonathan Millward for 32 (34 balls)(7x4), 84-1.
Sam Oldham joined Alexander Eyre and they quickly took the home side to victory reaching 177-1 in 27 overs, Alexander Eyre 98no (73 balls)(10x4, 5x6) with Sam Oldham 32no (56 balls)(2x4, 2x6).

Penwortham v Fulwood & Broughton
Fulwood & Broughton won the toss at Middleforth Green and put the hosts into bat. Robbie Sumner was first to go lbw to Marcus Allen for 4 (10 balls), 8-1. Ryan Maddock came in at three and with Ryan Dimasi had the scoreboard ticking over. Lewis Wellings was the man to make the breakthrough having Ryan Dimasi caught behind by James McWilliam for 31 (35 balls)(6x4), 71-2.
Glynn Parkinson was in next and with Maddock took the score to "nelson" (111) Ryan Maddock was out caught by Ben Parkinson off Ewen Mansford for 45 (42 balls)(7x4, 1x6), 111-3. the new batsman was Joseph Bradshaw and with Parkinson had put on 28 when both fell on the same score, Lewis Welling bowled Joseph Bradshaw for 13 (14 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 139-4, in the next over Glynn Parkinson was caught behind by James McWilliam off Todd Winter for 39 (50 balls), (5x4, 2x6), 139-5.
We now had two new batsmen Charlie Parker and Ed Duckworth, Todd Winter claimed his second wicket Ed Duckworth caught behind by James McWilliam for 8 (17 balls), 157-6. Harish Humsa joined Charlie Parker and with Humsa on the attack reached 202 when Harish Humsa was caught by Lewis Wellings off Cameron Port fot 34 (16 balls)(2x4, 4x6), 202-7.
Nathan Walmesley became Charlie Parker's new partner but was soon out bowled by Cameron Port for 9 (7 balls), 215-8. Ashley Billington was the new batsman, into the last two overs both Parker and Billington were out on the same score. Charlie Parker was the first to go caught by Cameron Port off Muhammad Zaid for 40 (34 balls)(6x4), 243-9. Lewis Wellings bowled Ashley Billington for 5 (9 balls) as Penwortham were bowled out for 243 in 39.1 overs with Ryan Roberts 0no (1 balls).

Parshwa Sandeep Panchwatkar joined McWilliam and were doing well until he was caught by Joseph Bradshaw off Charlie Parker for 16 (18 balls (2x4), 97-4.)
Muhammad Zaid was next in but became Charlie Parker's next victim caught by Joseph Bradshaw for 6 (11 balls), 121-5, Lewis Wellings became James McWilliam's new partner, but not for long he was out lbw to Ashley Billington for 5 (11 balls), 134-6.
New man in Cameron Port was supporting James McWilliam until disaster struck for the visitors Ryan Maddock taking three wickets in five balls for one run. James McWilliam was out caught and bowled for 76 (74 balls)(3x4, 6x6), 178-7. McWilliams partner Cameron Port was out next caught by Ryan Roberts for 8 (14 balls), 179-8, next ball Chris Brookes lbw for 0 (1 ball), 179-9.
Number eleven Todd Winder with Marcus Allen took the score past the two hundred and then Ryan Roberts bowled Marcus Allen for 11 (17 balls) as Fulwood & Brougton were bowled out for 203 in37.4 overs with Todd Winder 5no (18 balls).

Settle v Blackpool
Settle won the toss at the Marshfield ground and chose to bat first, Zane Nirodi and John Davidson came out to open with fourteen runs on the board Richard Gleeson struck taking two wickets in three balls, he bowled John Davidson for 4 (8 balls), 14-1, two balls later number three Gautam Waghela was trapped lbw for 0 (2 balls), 14-2.
Amar Ullah came in next but had to retire (not out) for 3 (9 balls), Benjamin Hulse replaced Ullah but with only 19 runs added disaster for the home side Zane Nirodi was run out by Andrew Needham for 9 (27 balls), 33-3.
The new batsman was James Snowden but he did not last very long stumped by Ben Howarth off Jamie Thomson for 5 (9 balls), 39-4. Benjamin Hulse had a new partner in Tom Davidson they slowly began to rebuild the innings. Richard Gleeson was brought back into the attack and took wickets with his third and fourth balls, he bowled Tom Davidson for 16 (28 balls)(2x4), 65-5, next ball he caught and bowled new batsman Robbie Davidson for 0 (1 ball), 62-6.
William Davidson replaced Robbie Davidson and hit four fours before he fell lbw to Josh Boyne for 20 (15 balls), 83-7. It became 83-8 when Richard Gleeson claimed his fifth wicket and brought Benjamin Hulse's fighting innings to a close caught behind by Ben Howarth for 6 (59 balls), 83-8.
The Settle innings came to a close on 84-9 in 28.3 overs (Amar Ullah unable to bat) with Eddy Read out lbw to Ali Usman for 1 (6 balls), Noah Smith was 0no (7 balls).
Richard Gleeson took 5-18 from 8 overs, Ali Usman 1-4 off 5.3, Jamie Thomson 1-17 from 4, Joshua Boyne 1-19 off 6 and Matthew Grindley 0-22 from 5.
The Blackpool openers Kasim Munir and Dylan Henshall showed no mercy reaching their target 85-0 in 13.3 overs, Dylan Henshall lead the way with 48no (33 balls)(7x4, 2x6) with Kasim Munir 25no (50 balls).

Thornton Cleveleys b Netherfield
Netherfield won the toss at Illawalla and decided to bat first, They lost an early wicket in Reece Irving caught behind by Sam Curwen off Joshua Rolinson for 3 (12 balls), 3-1. Cole Mcconchie came in at three and with Ben Barrow keeping the scoreboard ticking over, Joshua Rolinson struck again having Ben Barrow caught behind by Sam Curwen for 13 (23 balls)(2x4), 40-2.
John Huck was the incoming batsman but soon lost Cole Mcconchie caught behind by Sam Curwen off Joshua Rolinson for 15 (15 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 45-3. The two new batsmen at the crease were Oli Wileman and Josh Wills, Josh Wills was attacking the home bowling but Oli Wileman was the next man out stumped by Sam Curwen off Jake Apperley for 12 (17 balls)(2x4), 204-8. This wicket gave Sam Curwen his fifth victim.

Oliver Ellicott was next in and with Lee Berrie were making progress when Jaxon Cornford claimed his fifth wicket Oliver Ellicott caught behind by Casey Sawley-Elliott for 20 (24 balls)(3x4), 146-7.

Oliver Whalley joined Rigby and with only ten runs added Oliver Ellicott had Jamie Rigby caught by Joshua Unsworth for 13 (24 balls), 122-5, one run later Oliver Whalley was caught by Aneeq Hasaqn off Neil O'Malley for 4 (14 balls), 123-6.
The two new batsmen were Muhammad Patel and Casey Sawley-Elliott, When Neil O'Malley bowled Casey Sawley-Elliott for 3 (8 balls), 134-7 things were not looking good for the home side.
