The Northern Cricket League Review

It was Round Three of the 40 Over League Cup competition, there were three matches involving undefeated teams. Garstang beat Chorley, Euxton defeated Settle and Leyland beat Fulwood and Broughton.

Fleetwood remain the only other undefeated side, The other winners on the day were Blackpool, Carnforth, Carlisle, Kendal, Longridge and Netherfield.

40 OVER LEAGUE CUP COMPETITION: ROUND 3

Blackpool v Barrow

Blackpool won the toss at Stanley Park and chose to bat first, their opening pair Kasim Munir and Dylan Henshall got them off to a great start with an opening stand of 94, Dylan Henshall was the first to go stumped by Drew Postlethwaite off Gary Collins for 50 (47 balls)(9x4), 94-1.

Andrew Needham came in at three and continued to move the score along, Gary Collins claimed his second wicket Kasim Munir caught by Jack Singleton for 46 (88 balls)(6x4), 125-2. Ali Usman came in next but lost his partner Andrew Needham caught by Simon Chadd off Sam Dutton for 34 (37 balls), (4x4, 1x6), 153-3.

Matthew Taafe was the new batsman, with five overs to go he fell stumped by Drew Postlethwaite off Dikshant Vairagi for 9 (17 balls), 168-4, Ben Howarth replaced Taaffe and chasing runs was out for 10 (10 balls) bowled by Dikshant Vairagi, 181-5

Jake Muncaster came in next but lost his partner Ali Usman caught by Dikshant Vairagi off Simon Chadd for 15 (31 balls), 187-6. Dikshant Vairagi bowled the last over of the innings and took two wickets, Matthew Grindley was caught behind by Drew Postlethwaite for 1 (3 balls), 190-7, Jake Muncaster was out caught by Sam Henderson for 8 (6 balls), 192-8.

Number ten was Ali Munir and with a leg bye off the last ball Blackpool closed on 193-8 in their 40 overs with Arran Lewin 1no (2 balls) and Ali Munir 0no (1 ball).

The Barrow bowling was Dikshant Vairagi 4-34 from 8 overs, Gary Collins 2-30 off 8, Simon Chadd 1-17 from 3, Sam Dutton 1-33 off 8. Daryl Wearing 0-24 from 6, Sajid Khan 0-24 off 4 and Sam Henderson 0-27 from 5.

The visitors got off to a terrible start losing Drew Postlethwaite third ball of the first over caught by Ali Usman off Matthew Grindley for 0 (3 balls), 0-1.

Number three was Simon Chadd who became victim number two for Matthew Grindley caught by Arran Lewin for 7 (18 balls), 20-2, Dikshant Vairagi was the new batsman, the first change of bowling saw Dylan Henshall have Dikshant Vairagi caught by Kasim Munir for 12 (35 balls), 36-3.

Jack Singleton came in next and with Sam Dutton began to rebuild the Barrow innings, the score was approaching the hundred when Jack Singleton was bowled by Matthew Taafe for 31 (54 balls)(3x4), 99-3.

Matthew Adams replaced Singleton and with Sam Dutton continued the chase. Matthew Grindley was brought back into the attack and had an immediate effect taking the vital wicket of Sam Dutton lbw for 71 (77 balls)(9x4), 139-4.

There were three overs remaining and thirty runs required, Dylan Henshall bowled Daryl Wearing for 12 (16 balls), 164-6. Two runs later Mathhew Grindley took two wickets in two balls, Matthew Adams was caught by Dylan Henshall for 25 (33 balls)(1x4,1x6), 166-7, next ball Dan Adams was stumped by Ben Howarth for 0 (1 ball), 166-8.

Dylan Henshall bowled the final over of the innings and took the last two Barrow wickets, Sam Henderson was stumped by Ben Howarth for 3 (6 balls), 170-9. Gary Collins was out bowled for 4 (2 balls) as Barrow were bowled out for 174 in 39.3 overs with Sajid Khan 2no (2 balls).

Matthew Grindley and Dylan Henshall did the damage with Matthew Grindley 5-42 from 8 overs, Dylan Henshall 4-33 off 6.3, Matthew Taafe 1-25 from 6, Ali Usman 0-18 off 8, Ali Munir 0-18 from 3 and Arran Lewin 0-38 off 8.

Carlisle v Vernon Carus

Carlisle won the toss at Edenside and elected to bat first, Zephania Arinaitwe and Marc Brown made a great start, with their partnership approaching the hundred when Ben Thomas bowled Marc Brown for 23 (34 balls)(4x4), 95-1.

The hosts number three was Matthew Brown who kept the scoreboard ticking over, Ben Thomas struck again having Zephanai Arinaitwe caught by Jack Dureden for 51 (42 balls)(7x4, 1x6), 126-2.

Michael Slack was the new batsman and with Matthew Brown moved the score along until Matthew Brown was caught by Ben Thomas off Jaxon Cornford for 39 (39 balls)(6x4), 174-3. Next in was Ben Davidson and with Michael Slack upped the run rate, Michael Slack reached his century but was out soon after caught by Ben Thomas off Jacob Holland for 105 (75 balls)(15x4), 303-4.

Alex Raybould came to the wicket with only 20 balls remaining, Jacob Holland claimed his second wicket, Ben Davidson bowled for 53 (40 balls)(5x4), 320-5..

Brodie Gendinning was next in and was run out by Matthew Timms for 2 (2 balls), 325-6. Nico Watt came in for the last ball but was not facing, two runs was scored off the last ball as Carlisle closed on 327-6 in their 40 overs with Alex Raybould 13no (10 balls) and Nico Watt 0no.

For Vernon Carus Jacob Holland took 2-26 from 3 overs, Ben Thomas 2-59 off 6, Jaxon Cornford 1-40 from 8, Ian Dunn 0-54 off 7, Muhammad Patel 0-61 from 6 and Matthew Timms 0-75 off 10

The visitors opening pair were soon parted with Hasan Zaman stumped by Tom Benn off Nico Watt for 10 (13 balls), 13-1. Wes Royle came in at three and with Ian Dunn steadily moved the score along. Brodie Glendinning made the breakthrough bowling Ian Dunn for 20 (28 balls)(3x4), 48-2

Jaxon Cornford was in next, the partnership was making progress until Ben Purham claimed two wickets in three balls, he bowled Wes Royle for 44 (65 balls)(3x4), 108-3, two balls later he bowled Muhammad Patel for 0 (2 balls), 108-4.

The new batsman was Casey Sawley-Elliot, only two runs had been added when Jaxon Cornford was caught by Ben Purdham off Johnny Westgarth for 22 (38 balls)(1x6), 110-5

The sixth wicket soon followed Casy Sawley-Elliot caught behind by Tom Benn off Ben Purdham for 3 (9 balls), 112-6. Matthew Timms and Alan Maguire were the new batsmen, Alan Maguire was quickly out lbw to Nico Watt for 0 (8 balls), 119-7.

Jack Duerden replaced Maguire but saw his partner Matthew Timms fall bowled by Nico Watt for 13 (14 balls)(2x4), 126-8. Ben Thomas was next in but with only four runs added Jack Duerden was caught by Brodie Glendinning off Johnny Westgarth for 9 (4 balls), 130-9.

The Vernon Carus innings closed on 134 all out in 31.3 overs when Nico Watt bowled Ben Thomas for 6 (7 balls) leaving Jacob Holland 1no (3 balls).

Nico Watt lead the way for the hosts with 4-33 from 6.4 overs supported by Ben Purdham 3-30 off 8, Johnny Westgarth 2-25 from 6, Brodie Glendinning 1-19 off 6 and Michael Slack 0-19 from 5.

Carnforth v Great Eccleston

Great Eccleston won the toss at Lodge Quarry and decided to bat first, Their openers Nisanth Nithian and Rishit Sharma gave them a good start, Romario Braithwaite broke through having Nisanth Nithian caught by Tom Parkinson for 42 (41 balls)(8x4), 73-1.

Alexander Rhodes was the new batsman and continued the good run rate, He was the next man out bowled by Dylan Conroy for 62 (48 balls)(10x4, 1x6), 159-2. Mohammed Nadeem was in next and lost Rishit Sharma lbw to James Park- Johnson for 55 (65 balls)(7x4,1x6), 179-3.

Matthew Lawrenson came to the wicket but was soon out bowled by Romario Brathwaite for 6 (9 balls), 192-4. Next in was Joe McMillan, the score was just past the two hundred when Jack Thompson bowled Muhammed Nadeem for 18 (21 balls)(2x4), 208-5.

There were just over six overs to go with Richard Booth making his way to the crease, Joe McMillan was the next out caught behind by Shane Dixon off James Park-Johnson for 20 (18 balls)(3x4), 223-6, one run later and Richard Booth suffered the same fate out caught behind by Shane Dixon bowled by James Park-Johnson for 1 (2 balls), 224-7.

We now have two new batsmen Will Thistlethwaite and Sandeep Gorige, Dylan Conroy removed Will Thistlethwaite bowled for 8 (8 balls), 241-8. New man Phil Booth supported Sandeep Gorige but became victim number three for Dylan Conroy bowled for 3 (4 balls), 261-9.

Number eleven was William Turnbull and three runs later lost Sandeep Gorige caught by Sam Woodburn off Dylan Conroy for 27 (19 balls)(2x4, 2x6) as Great Eccleston were 264 all out in 38.4 overs with William Turnbull 2no (3 balls).

Dylan Conroy was Carnforth's best bowler with 4-38 from 8 overs, Jame Park-Johnson took 3-52 off 8, Romario Brathwaite 2-47 from 8, Jack Thompson 1-55 off 7, Jaco Beneke 0-12 from 2, James Parkinson 0-16 off 2 and Freddie Whatmuff 0-37 from 3.4

Bradley Hoyle and Freddie Whatmuff opened for the hosts with a partnership of 103 broken with the fall of Bradley Hoyle caught by Rishit Sharma off Nisanth Nisanth for 53 (53 balls)(4x4, 2x6), 103-1.

In at three came Jaco Beneke moving the score along nicely until tragedy for the hosts losing two wickets for one run, Freddie Whatmuff was caught by Mohammed Nadeem off Sandeep Gorige for 52 (61 balls)(4x4, 2x6), 130-2, new man James Park-Johnson was run out by Will Thistlethwaite for 1 (2 balls), 131-3.

Dylan Conroy made his way to the wicket but with only ten runs added Sandeep Gorige struck having Jaco Beneke caught by Phil Booth for 18 (17 balls)(4x4), 141-4. Shane Dixon joined Dylan Conroy with 124 run required off 17.2 overs, they set about their task but with the two hundred reached Mohammed Nadeem trapped Dylan Conroy lbw for 22 (20 balls)(3x4), 201-5.

Tom Parkinson replaced Conroy and kept up the chase, with just over six overs to go Shane Dixon fell caught by Sandeep Gorige off Nisanth Nithian for 54 (41 balls)(3x4, 4x6) 221-6

Romario Brathwaite was the new batsman and took contol, he with Tom Parkinson saw Carnforth home on 267-6 in 38.5 overs with Romario Brathwaite 30no (16 ball)(3x6) and Tom Parkinson 19 (24 balls), his only four scoring the winning runs.

The Great Eccleston bowling was Sandeep Gorige 2-37 from 4 overs, Nisanth Nithian 2-59 off 8, Mohammed Nadeem 1-26 from 8, William Turnbull 0-40 off 4.5, Alexander Rhodes 0-43 from 8 and Phil Booth 0-49 off 6

Chorley v Garstang

Chorley won the toss at Windsor Park and invited the visitors to bat first, Tom Higson and Michael Walling were the openers, Miller Childs was the man to make the breakthrough, Tom Higson caught by Keegan Petersen for 32 (26 balls)(6x4), 41-1.

In came Joseph Pearson at three and had doubled the score when he lost his partner Michael Walling caught by James Dunn off Keegan Petersen for 28 (34 balls)(5x4), 95-2.

Mark Walling was the new batsman and they continued to make progress until Keegan Petersen struck again having Joseph Pearson stumped by Ben Simpkins for 44 (65 balls)(7x4), 129-3.

Sumit Ruikar joined Walling and were doing well, the introduction of Joseph Tiffin saw the fall of two wickets in three balls, Sumit Ruikar was caught by James Lee for 17 (23 balls), 185-4, two balls later he had Dan Curwen caught behind by Ben Simpkins for 0 (2 balls), 185-5.

Matthew Crowther joined Mark Walling and they took the score past the two hundred only for Mark Walling to fall caught by Edwin Moulton off Maxwell Seedall for 65 (67 balls)(7x4, 1x6), 208-6.

The new batsman was Danny Gilbert who was out lbw to Maxwell Seedall off the last ball of the innings for 3 (3 balls) as Garstang closed on 214-6 in their 40 overs with Matthew Crowther 11no (20 balls).

The Chorley bowling was Joseph Tiffin 2-23 from 5 overs, Keegan Petersen 2-34 off 8, Maxwell Seedall 2-39 from 6, Miller Childs 1-26 off 4, James Lee 0-19 from 2, Sam Steeple 0-30 off 8 and Edwin Moulton 0-37 from 7.

The Chorley reply did not start well losing both openers early, Miller Childs fell lbw to Waris Khan for 3 (5 balls), 15-1. fellow opener Will Moulton was bowled by Corey Cater for 5 (15 balls), 23-2.

The two new batsmen were Edwin Moulton and Keegan Petersen, with Petersen leading the way they took the score to 150 when Tom Higson struck removing both batsmen and swinging the game towards the visitors, Keegan Pertsen went first caught by Joseph Pearson for 84 (67 balls)(11x4,3x6), 150-3, Edwin Moulton was next caught behind by Matthew Crowther for 47 (85 balls)(6x4), 159-4.

Maxwell Seedall and Zayn Wadiwala prepared to continue the chase but Michael Walling caught and bowled Zayn Wadiwala for 4 (15 balls), 166-5. Incoming batsmen James Dunn was soon out caught by Waris Khan off Tom Higson for 2 (4 balls), 174-6.

Joseph Tiffin replaced Dunn but fell with only three runs added, lbw to Sumit Ruikar for 2 (4 balls), 177-7. Sumit Ruikar swung the game in the visitors favour with the wicket of Maxwell Seedall caught and bowled for 14 (18 balls), 186-8.

Sam Steeple joined Ben Simpkins but was out for 2 (4 balls) caught by Mark Walling off Michael Walling, 190-9. The Chorley innings came to a close two runs later with Michael Walling bowling James Lee for 1 (3 balls) as Chorley were 192 all out in 39 overs with Ben Simpkins 9no (15 balls).

The bowling figures were Michael Walling 3-18 from 4 overs, Tom Higson 3-46 off 8, Sumit Ruikar 2-20 from 8, Waris Khan 1-30 off 4, Corey Cater 1-38 from 8 and Danny Gilbert 0-35 off 7.

Euxton v Settle

Euxton won the toss at Balshaw Park and chose to bat first, Josh Tolley and Jack Shovelton gave them a good start, Amar Ullah broke the partnership trapping Jack Shovelton lbw for 26 (29 balls)(5x4), 63-1.

Hakeem Perryman was number three and with Tolley took the score to 150, Will Vause struck having Hakeem Perryman caught by Amar Ullah for 45 (40 balls)(3x4, 2x6), 150-2.

The incoming batsman was James Bone but he was soon out caught behind by Noah Smith off William Davidson for 5 (18 balls), 161-3. next in was Ben Houghton who quickly became Amar Ullah's second wicket bowled for 6 (14 balls), 169-4

Max Harper was the new batsman but with only two runs added lost Josh Tolley caught and bowled by William Davidson for 76 (98 balls)(11x4, 1 x6), 171-5.

Joseph Barker joined Max Harper but was caught behind by Noah Smith off Amar Ullah for 3 (5 balls), 174-6. In next was Danny Curtis who lost his partner Max Harper lbw to Will Vause for 4 (8 balls), 178-7.

Louis Sweeney replaced Harper and became wicket number three for Will Vause bowled for 4 (9 balls), 189-8, The last two Euxton wickets fell for two runs, Danny Curtis bowled by Amar Ullah for 12 (10 balls), 197-9 and Elliot Mackrael bowled by Will Vause for 1 (3 balls)as Euxton were bowled out 199 in 39.1 overs with Joseph Bowden 2no (3 balls).

Will Vause 4-43 from 7.1 overs and Amar Ullah 4-50 off 8 did the damage with support from William Davidson 2-29 from 8, Richard Bradley 0-13 off 1, Harvey Green 0-15 from 2, Gautam Waghela 0-18 off 8 and Benjamin Hulse 0-27 from 5.

The Settle reply did not start well Zane Nirodi caught by Josh Tolley off Joseph Bowden for 1 (4 balls), 8-1, Gautam Waghela came in and with William Davidson moved the score quickly along until James Bone trapped Gautam Waghela lbw for 15 (20 balls), 48-2.

The new batsman was Amar Ullah who lost his partner William Davidson caught by Ben Houghton off Joseph Bowden for 32 (26 balls)(3x4, 2x6), 54-3.

Things were not going well for the visitors as two more wickets went cheaply with Joseph Bowden taking both wickets, James Snowden was bowled for 0 (1 ball), 56-4, new man Benjamin Hulse was caught behind for 1 (11 balls), 62-5.

Harvey Green came to the wicket and was run out by Ben Houghton for 0 (14 balls), 66-6. John Davidson joined Amar Ullah and they dug in with John Davidson taking the lead, Amar Ullah was the next to go caught behind by Danny Curtis off Elliot Mackrael for 23 (51 balls), 114-7.

Will Vause replaced Ullah and with Davidson continued the fight back, The valiant effort ended with Elliot Mackrael bowling John Davidson for 50 (66 balls)(6x4), 153-8.

Noah Smith was the new man but four runs later lost Will Vause caught behind by Danny Curtis off Joseph Barker for 22 (23 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 157-9. The Settle innings closed on 162 all out with Richard Bradley run out by Louis Sweeney for 1 (5 balls) in 38 overs with Noah Smith 4no (8 balls).

Joseph Bowden took 4-36 from 8 overs, Elliot Mackrael 2-40 off 8, James Bone 1-16 from 8, Joseph Barker 1-37 off 7, Josh Tolley 0-12 from 4 and Louis Sweenety 0-14 off 3.

Fulwood & Broughton v Leyland

Fulwood & Broughton won the toss and decided to bat first, they did not get off to the best of starts losing two early wickets, Muhammad Zaid went quickley, bowled by Luke Hands for 0 (7 balls), 7-1.

In at three came Ben Parkinson but he also became a Luke Hands victim caught behind by Adam Sexton for 8 (7 balls)(2x4), 18-2. James McWilliam was in next and with Ewen Mansford began to rebuild the hosts innings, they took the score to 51 when Ross Bretherton had James McWilliam caught behind by Adam Sexton for 19 (28 balls)(2x4), 51-3.

Parshwa Panchwatkar joined Ewen Mansford and they doubled the score, Ross Bretherton was the man to again break the partnership, Parshwa Panchwatkar was the man out caught behind by Adam Sexton for 33 (38 balls)(5x4, 1x6), 109-4.

Lewis Wellings was next in but did not trouble the scorer out bowled by Will Smith for 0 (9 balls), 121-5. Two runs later the visitors took the prize wicket of Ewen Mansford caught by Karl Cross off Ned Patterson for 48 (81 balls)(4x4, 2x6), 123-6. Next in Richard Turner but became wicket number two for Will Smith bowled for 1 (8 balls), 136-7.

Cameron Port and Max Smith were the new batsmen but their partnership was broken with the run out of Max Smith by Will Smith for 3 (12 balls), 147-8.

Marcus Allen was Cameron Port's new partner and they took the score to 170 when both were out, Marcus Allen was caught by Luke Hands off Andrew Jacques for 10 (15 balls), 170-9, Cameron Port followed bowled by Will Smith for 30 (31 balls)(3x4) 170 all out in 39.1 overs with Todd Winder 0no (2 balls).

The wickets were spread amongst the bowlers, Will Smith took 3-27 from 6.1 overs, Luke Hands 2-13 off 3, Ross Bretherton 2-32 from 8, Andrew Jacques 1-12 off 6, Ned Patterson 1-39 from 8 and Sam Oldham 0-42 off 8.

The Leyland openers Karl Cross and Alexander Eyre put the visitors in a strong position with an opening stand of 133 broken when Karl Cross was bowled by Todd Winder for 78 (66 balls)(10x4, 3x6), 133-1.

Sam Oldham came to the wicket and supported Alexander Eyre as the reached their goal of 173-1 in 27 overs, Alexander Eyre was 68no (77 balls)(6x4, 4x6) with Sam Oldham16no (19 balls)(3x4).

The Fulwood & Broughton bowling was Todd Winder 1-35 from 6 overs, Marcus Allen 0-19 off 3, Ewen Mansford 0-34 from 8, Cameron Port 0-39 off 6 and Lewis Wellings 0-46 from 4.

Longridge v Thornton Cleveleys

Longridge won the toss at the Newsham Memorial ground and put the visitors into bat, Joshua Rolinson and Joshua Sackfield had an opening partnership of 50, Jonathan Millward made the breakthrough trapping Joshua Rolinson lbw for 31 (28 balls)(5x4, 1x6), 50-1.

Josh Borrell was in at three and with Sackfield kept the scoreboard ticking over until Joshua Sackfield was caught by Kieran McClintock off Jonathan Millward for 44 (39 balls)(8x4, 1 x6), 94-2. Jon Eade was in next and progress was being made until on 122 two wickets fell, Josh Borrell was out lbw to Jake Durnell for 25 (35 balls)(4x4), 122-3, two balls later new man Richard Jenkinson suffered the same fate, lbw for 0 (2 balls). 122-4.

Cameron Chisholm joined Eade and they continued to move the score along, Jake Durnell claimed wicket number three bowling Jon Eade for 25 (35 balls)(4x4), 148-5

Daniel Howard replaced Eade and with Chisholm were going well until Jake Durnell trapped Cameron Chisholm lbw for 31 (29 balls)(2x4, 2x6), 189-6.

Walking to the wicket was Jake Apperley and he kept the score rate going. Daniel Howard was next out caught by Gabriel Dowthwaite off Zach Proctor for 18 (19 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 206-7.

The new batsman was Sam Curwen and with Jake Apperley scored 46 runs in 27 balls, Jake Apperley went caught behind by Taariq Chiecktey off Kieran McClintock for 30 (22 balls)(5x4), 248-8.

The Thornton Cleveleys innings closed on 250-8 in their 40 overs with Sam Curwen 13no (16 balls)(2x4) and Ethan Elphick 1no (3 balls).

Jake Durnell lead the way for Longridge with 4-41 from 8 overs, Jonathan Millward 2-47 off 8, Zach Proctor 1-23 from 5, Kieran McClintock 1-50 off 8, Tom Howarth 0-29 from 3 and Gabriel Dowthwaite 0-46 off 8.

The Longridge openers gave the hosts a solid start of 72 for the first wicket, Taariq Chiecktey the man out caught byJon Eade off Cameron Chisholm for 42 (37 balls)(9x4), 72-1.

Luke Platt joined Joshua Mullin and they were going very well when two wickets fell on the same score, Daniel Howard was the man who made the breakthrough, he had Joshua Mullin caught by Cameron Chisholm for 68 (84 balls)(10 x4), 173-2, three balls later Zac Christie was caught behind by Sam Curwen for 0 (3 balls), 173-3.

Rob Hollinghurst replaced Mullin and continued the chase, Daniel Howard claimed his third wicket Luke Platt caught by J Sackfield for 60 (66 balls)(10 x4), 187-4.

Gabriel Dowthwaite was in next and with Rob Hollinghurst saw the hosts home on 256-4 in 39 overs. Rob Hollinghurst hit a six to reach his fifty and score the winning runs, he finished on 54no (26 balls)(6x4, 3x6) and Zach Proctor 23no (18 balls)(3x4).

The Thornton Cleveleys bowling was Daniel Howard 3-44 from 8 overs, Cameron Chisholm 1-60 off 8, Anthony Ellison 0-37 from 8, Joshua Ro;inson 0-55 off 7 and Jake Apperley 0-56 from 8.

Mawdesley v Kendal

Mawdesley won the toss at Rectory Filed and invited Kendal to bat first, The visitors opening pair took control, the introduction of Kasim Masood into the attack had immediate results, he had Freddie Fallows stumped by Fyffe Dennis for 39 (52 balls),(3x4, 1x6), 135-1.

Finlay Richardson came to the wicket and kept up the run rate and saw Darren Nightingale reach his century, Neil O'Malley came onto bowl and his first three balls were hit for six but his fourth ball had Darren Nightingale caught behind by Fyffe Dennis for 133 (106 balls)(13x4, 8x6), 200-2.

Cole Abrahams was next in and attacked the bowling, he lost Finlay Richardson stumped by Fyffe Dennis off Kasin Masood for 25 (28 balls)(3x4), 232-3.

Bradley Earl joined Abrahams giving him the strike until he was out caught by Chris Armstrong off Joshua Adamson for 15 (11 balls)(2x6), 284-4. James Bowman replaced Earl but with only four runs added Cole Abrahams was caught by Aneeq Hassan off Joshua Adamson for 59 (23 balls)(4x4, 6x6), 289-5.

Harry Temperton was in next, Joshua Adamson claimed his third victim James Bowman caught by Chris Armstrong for 23 (9 balls)(5x4), 315-6. The new batsman Sam Sharp 5no (5 balls) and Harry Temperton 8no (6 balls) saw Kendal close on 326 for 6 in their 40 overs.

Joshua Adamson took 3-51 off 5 overs, Kasim Masood 2-73 off 7, Neil O.Malley 1-27 from 2, Oliver Elliot 0-28 off 8, Lee Berrie 0-45 from 7, Aneeq Hassan 0-46 off 7 and Daniel Unsworth 0-47 from 4.

Ben Munslow and Fyffe Dennis had the task of chasing the big score, Ben Munslow was the first to go caught by James Bowman off Sam Sharp for 11 (15 balls)(2x4), 20-1.

The Mawdesley number three was Aneeq Hassan and with Fyffe Dennis steadily moved the score along, James Bowman broke the partnership having Fyffe Dennis caught by Cole Abrahams for 36 (49 balls)(6x4, 1x6), 76-2.

The new batsman was Daniel Unsworth but soon lost Aneeq Hassan caught by Louis Backhouse off Chris Miller for 23 (47 balls)(2x4), 83-3. Nathan Trengrove was next in but the run rate was slipping, Daniel Unsworth was next out caught behind by Finlay Richardson off Louis Backhouse for 24 (52 balls), 139-4.

Louis Backhouse quickly accounted for Lee Berrie caught by Sam Sharp for 4 (8 balls), 143-5, Kasim Masood 14no (19 balls) joined Nathan Trengove 54no (51 balls)(5x4, 2x6) saw Mawdesley close on 184-5 in their 40 overs.

The Kendal bowling was Louis Backhouse 2-28 from 8 overs, James Bowman 1-19 from 6, Christopher Miller 1-19 from 4, Sam Sharp 1-58 off 8, Freddie Fallows 0-25 from 8 and Bradley Earl 0-29 off 6.

Netherfield v Penwortham

Netherfield won the toss at Parkside Road and chose to bat first, The made 292 - 5 in their 40 overs with Cole Mcconchie 121 (75 balls) and John Huck 102 (55 balls) with Josh Dixon 30 (44 balls).

The Penwortham bowling figures were Charlie Parker 2-42 from 6 overs, Ryan Maddock 1-39 off 8, Ashley Billington 1-53 from 8, Ryan Roberts 1-65 off 6, Joseph Bradshaw 0-42 from 4 and Nathan Walmsley 0-45 off 8.

In reply Penwortham were 212-9 in thier 40 overs, Number eleven Ashley Billington top scored with 39no (43 balls) with Ryan Maddock 34 (46 balls), Robbie Sumner 32 (57 balls) and Harish Humsa 25 (15 balls).

For Netherfield Oli Wileman took 3-32 from 8 overs, Cole Mcconchie 2-29 off 6, Matt Jackson 1-33 from 6, Josh Wills 1-37 off 8, Harry Lee 1-46 from 8 and Reece Irving 0-30 off 4.

St Annes v Fleetwood

St Annes won the toss at Vernon Road and elected to bat first, they got off to a terrible start losing Christopher Wilson in the first over caught by Nathan Bend off Will Reader for 0 (4 balls), 0-1.

Lukman Vahaluwala was the St Annes number three but lost Nathan Armstrong lbw to Declan Clerkin for 11 (21 balls), 15-2, Luke Jardine was next in and supported Lukman Vahaluwala until he was caught by Michael Rippon off Matthew Siddall for 8 (28 balls), 48-3.

Nathan Bolus was the new batsman and with Vahaluwala looked to be making progress when Michael Rippon trapped LukmanVahaluwla lbw for 35 (57 balls)(5x4), 74-4.

Thomas Bradley joined Bolus, with Bradley scoring quickly they took the score past the hundred, Declan Clerkin broke the stand having Nathan Bolus caught by Tomas King for 17 (29 balls)(2x4), 108-5.

Alex Urquhart replaced Bolus and with Thomas Bradley were going well until Thomas Bradley fell caught by Matthew Siddall for 37 (46 balls)(4x4), 154-6, Jeremy Davies was introduced into the attack and took two wickets in his first over, Mitch Bolus was bowled for 5 (7 balls), 163-7, next in was Rory Urquhart who suffered the same fate bowled for 0 (2 balls), 163-8.

That was the last sucess for the visitors as Alex Urquhart 34no (38 balls)(4x4) and Ryan Birkman 23no (10 balls)(2x4, 2x6) saw St Annes close on 198-8 intheir 40 overs.

The visitors bowling figures were Declan Clerkin 3-30 from 8 overs, Jeremy Davies 2-34 off 6, Matthew Siddall 1-14 from 8, Will Reader 1-22 off 5, Michael Rippon 1-60 from 8 and Tomas King 0-27 off 5.

The Fleetwood openers started at a good rate, Tomas King was out bowled by Rory Urquhart for 22 (22 balls)(3x4, 1x6), 25-1. Charlie Clark joined Andy Drake and they took control until Charlie Clark was caught by Thomas Bradley off Mitch Bolus for 78 (67 balls)(11x4, 1x6), 167-2.

Michael Rippon was Andy Drake's new partner and they saw Fleetwood to victory on 199-2 in 32.4 overs, Andy Drake was 66no (96 balls)(6x4) and Michael Rippon 23no (12 balls)(5x4).

For St Annes Rory Urquhart took 1-27 from 6.4 overs, Mitch Bolus 1-53 off 8, Lukman Vahaluwala 0-9 from 2, Nathan Bolus 0-17 off 2, Thomas Bradley 0-28 from 4, Ryan Birkman 0-28 off 4 and Alex Urquhart 0-35 from 6
