The Northern Premier League 2025 season Round 12 In Division 1 Kendal extended their lead with their win at Fulwood & Broughton, The positions from sceond to fifth have only a three point difference, Netherfield (89 pts) are second after beating Settle, Garstang (88 pts) are third back to winning ways over Longridge, Blackpool (87 pts) move into fourth defeating Fleetwood and Chorley (86pts) fifth with their win over Leyland

Division 2, Jonathon Hothersall scores 202no as Penwortham crush leaders St Annes but remain in fourth place, Euxton beat Thornton Cleveleys and are now level on pints with St Annes, Carlisle's defeat of Great Eccleston moves them to only ten points behind,

There were wins for Barrow against Mawdesley and Vernon Carus at Carnforth

DIVISION ONE

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 12

Blackpool v Fleetwood

Fleetwood won the toss at Stanley Park and elected to bat first, Jeremy Davies and Declan Clerkin were the opening batsmen, their partnership was broken when Declan Clerkin was caught behind by Ben Howarth off Jamie Thomson for 13 (20 balls)(3x4).

The man in at three was Harry McAleer and with Davies were going steadily along until the introduction of Josh Boyne into the attack, in his third over he had Jeremy Davies caught by Andrew Needham for 35 (59 balls)(4x4, 2x6), 66-2. Michael Rippon was the new batsman but soon lost Harry McAleer bowled by Joshua Boyne for 26 (52 balls)(3x4), 79-3.

Charlie Clark joined Rippon but was soon out lbw to Ali Usman for 9 (16 balls), 88-4. Adam Sharrocks came to the wicket but with only six runs added Michael Rippon was out caught by Kasim Munir for 3 (39 balls), 94-5.

The next man in was Andy Drake, Joshua Boyne claimed his third wicket bowling Adam Sharrocks for 6 (24 balls), 96-6. Woody Wilson came to the wicket but with only four runs added Andy Drake was out caught by Andrew Needham off Ali Usman for 2 (20 balls), 98-7.

Nathan Bend replaced Drake but quickly became Ali Usman's fourth wicket bowled for 3 (9 balls), 102-8. Hassan Mughal came in at ten but Woody Wilson fell without further addition to the score caught and bowled by Joshua Boyne for 1 (12 balls), 102-9

Last man in was Matthew Siddall who became Ali Usman's fifth victim caught by Joshua Boyne for 0 (5 balls) as Fleetwood were bowled out for 107 in 43.5 overs, Hassan Mughal was 5no (7 balls).

For Blackpool Ali Usman took 5-19 off 13.5 overs, Joshua Boyne 4-36 off 15, Jamie Thomson 1-24 from 8 and Matthew Grindley 0-27 off 7.

The weather intervened and Blackpool were set a revised target of 99 in 42 overs. Ben Howarth and Dylan Henshall were the opening pair, Hassan Mughal bowled Dylan Henshall for 5 (10 balls), 20--1.

Andrew Needham came out at three and was scoring at a good rate until he fell caught and bowled by Matthew Siddall for 23 (27 balls)(5x4), 59-2. Joshua Boyne was next in but was soon out caught by Nathan Bend off Michael Rippon for 5 (9 balls), 70-3.

Ali Usman joined Ben Howarth and they were approaching the hundred when Ben Howarth was out lbw to Michael Rippon for 45 (72 balls)(5x4, 2x6), 94-4.

Matthew Taafe replaced Howarth and with Usman saw Blackpool home on 99-4 in 24.1 overs, Ali Usman was 10no (25 balls) and Matthew Taafe 1no (2 balls).

The bowling figures were Michael Rippon 2-23 from 8 overs, Hassan Mughal 1-29 off 5 and Matthew Siddall 1-40 from 11.1.

Chorley v Leyland

Chorley won the toss at Windsor Park and chose to bat first, they got off to a terrible start losing both openers cheaply, Ned Patterson did the damage, he had Miller Childs caught by Sam Oldham for 1 (4 balls), 2-1, Maxwell Seedall fell one run later lbw for 1 (18 balls), 3-2.

We now had two new batsmen Edwin Moulton and Keegan Petersen, Petersen lead the way with Moulton in the suuport role, Ross Bretherton broke the partnership having Edwin Moulton caught by Will Smith for 17 (57 balls)(3x4), 44-3. Will Moulton joined Petersen and upped the score rate, their stand was 86 when Will Moulton was caught and bowled by Sam Oldham for 60 (45 balls)(7x4, 4x6), 130-4.

The next man in was Alfie Dobson who became Ned Patterson's third wicket caught by Alexander Eyre for 8 (12 balls), 143-5. Kieran Yould came to the wicket and he too fell to Ned Patterson caught by Jacob Wright for 7 (9 balls), 151-6.

Stuart Naden replaced Yould and supported Petersen, Keegan Petersen reached his century and was then out with one over to go bowled by Andrew Jacques for 100 (122 balls)(7x4)(6x6), 224-7.

James Dunn came in for the last over and with Naden saw Chorley close on 236-7 in their 50 overs, Stuart Naden was 29no (30 balls)(4x4) and James Dunn 5no (3 balls).

The Leyland bowling was Ned Patterson 4-63 from 15 overs, Ross Bretherton 1-21 off 15, Andrew Jacques 1-56 from 10, Sam Oldham 1-69 off 8 and Will Smith 0-23 from 2.

The Leyland reply saw them lose both openers early, Alexander Eyre was caught by Kieran Yould off Will Moulton for 0 (1 ball), 1-1, Reiss Carrington followed bowled by Miller Childs for 6 (12 balls), 17-2.

Sam Oldham came in at three and Jacob Wright four, they kept the scoreboard ticking over until Sam Steeple bowled Jacob Wright for 13 (33 balls), 55-3. Lloyd Tennant was next in and scoring at a run a ball, he was the next man out caught behind by Ben Simpkins off James Dunn for 30 (30 balls)(6x4), 112-4.

The incoming batsman was Ned Patterson but he was soon out bowled by Edwin Moulton for 5 (10 balls), 124-5. Ross Bretherton replaced Patterson and with Oldham were making good progress, Stuart Naden broke the partnership having Sam Oldham caught behind by Ben Simpkins for 59 (116 balls)(6x4), 157-6.

Andrew Makinson was the new batsman with 12.3 overs remainig and 80 required, disaster struck for the visitors with the loss of Ross Bretheton caught by Keegan Petersen off Edwin Moulton for 33 (44 balls)(4x4), 177-7.

The Leyland tail collapsed for three runs, Andrew Makinson went first lbw to Edwin Moulton for 9 (19 balls), 192-8, two runs later Will Smith was caught by Kieran Yould off Stuart Naden for 9 (13 balls), 194-9. number eleven Adam Sexton was the last wicket to fall bowled by Edwin Moulton for 1 (4 balls) as Leyland were bowled out for 195 in 46.2 overs, Andrew Jacques was 1no (1 ball).

All the Chorley bowlers took a wicket, Edwin Moulton took 4-47 from 12.2 overs, Stuart Naden 2-27 off 7, Sam Steeple 1-14 from 4, James Dunn 1-27 off 5, Will Moultom 1-38 from 11 and Miller Childs 1-39 off 7.

Fulwood & Broughton v Kendal

Kendal won the toss at the Highfield ground and decided to bat first, Darren Nightingale was out cheaply caught by Pashwa Sandeep Panchwatkar off Lewis Wellings for 4 (2 balls), 10-1. Number three was Finlay Richardson but soon lost his partner Maximus Winskill bowled by Lewis Wellings for 11 (18 balls)(2x4), 36-2.

The new batsman was Cole Abrahams who was quickly out caught by Lewis Wellings off Khalil Patel for 0 (6 balls), 41-3. next in was Freddie Fallows and with Richardson were going well until Cameron Port came on to bowl, in his first over Freddie Fallows hit sixteen off the first five balls but on the sixth Fallows was out caught by Lewis Wellings for 20 (19 balls)(1x4, 2x6), 76-4.

Bradley Earl replaced Fallows but was out first ball caught by Ben Parkinson off Khalil Patel for 0, 77-5. the incoming batsman was James Bowman and with Richardson were approaching the hundred when Finlay Richardson was caught by Lewis Wellings off Cameron Port for 47 (51 balls)(5x4. 2x6), 93-6.

Christopher Miller joined Bowman and they steadily moved the score along until with their partnership 84 James Bowman was bowled by Marcus Allen for 53 (72 balls)(4x4, 2x6), 177-7, Sam Sharp came to the wicket and continued the momentum, Khalil Patel claimed his third wicket Christopher Miller caught by Ben Parkinson for 35 (84 balls)(3x4), 207-8.

Louis Backhouse was Sam Sharp's new partner and they were looking for runs, Lewis Wellings took wicket number three bowling Sam Sharp for 26 (30 balls)(4x4), 231-9

Number eleven was Joe Davies and with Backhouse took the innings into the the last over when Louis Backhouse was stumped by James McWilliam off Khalil Patel for 14 (11 balls)(1x4, 1x6) as Kendal were bowled out for 243 in 40.5 overs, Joe Davies was 11no (5 balls)(1x6).

The Fulwood & Broughton bowling was Khalil Patel 4-52 from 14.5 overs, Lewis Wellings 3-72 off 11, Cameron Port 2-49 from 12, Marcus Allen 1-13 off 4, Ewen Mansford 0-19 from 5 and James Lupton 0-30 off 3

The Fulwood & Broughton reply got off to a bad start losing Cameron Port out first ball bowled by Louis Backhouse, for 0, 0-1. Ben Parkinson was the hosts number three and with Ewen Mansford began to build a score, Sam Sharp broke the partnership having Ben Parkinson caught behind by Finlay Richardson for 13 (21 balls)(3x4), 26-2.

The new batsman was Ben Rosbottom but he soon became wicket number two for Sam Sharp caught by Cole Abrahams for 10 (10 balls)(2x4), 38-3. Parshwa Sandeep Panchwatkar came in next and supported Ewen Mansford, Christopher Miller broke the stand having Parshwa Sandeep Panchwatkar stumped by Finlay Richardson for 4 (29 balls), 77-4.

James McWilliam joined Mansford but disaster struck for the hosts with Ewen Mansford was run out by Louis Backhouse for 36 (82 balls)(5x4), 94-5.

Lewis Wellings came to the wicket, Christopher Miller struck a blow for the visitors taking two wickets in two balls, Lewis Wellings was caught by Louis Backhouse for 0 (11 balls), 103-6. next ball new man Muhammad Zaid was out lbw for 0 (1 ball), 103-7.

Khalil Patel became McWilliam's new partner but soon became another Christopher Miller victim bowled for 12 (18 balls)(2x4), 117-8. James Luton was in at ten but lost James McWilliam run out by Bradley Earl for 33 (31 balls)(3x4, 2x6), 133-9.

Last man in was Marcus Allen, Christopher Miller took his fifth wicket bowling James Lupton for 12 (17 balls)(2x4) as the Fulwood and Broughton's innings closed on 141 all out in 38 overs with Marcus Allen 1no (8 balls).

Christopher Miller took 5-69 from 13 overs, Sam Sharp 2-26 off8, Louis Backhouse 1-12 from 7, Joe Davies 0-11 off 3 and Freddie Fallows 0-12 from 7.

Longridge v Garstang

Garstang won the toss at the Newsham Memorial ground and took first knock, The got off to a good start, Jonathan Millward making the breakthrough having Michael Wellings lbw for 15 (19 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 41-1.

Tom Higson came in at three but with only five runs added lost Michael Walling bowled by Jonathan Millward for 23 (36 balls)(4x4), 46-2, Joseph Pearson was next in, Jake Durnell come on to bowl and off his third ball had Tom Higson lbw for 8 (14 balls), 55-3, Sumit Ruikar replaced Higson but without any addition to the score he was out caught by Rob Hollinghurst off Jake Durnell for 0 (8 balls), 55-4.

Matthew Crowther joined Joseph Pearson and they were making very good progress with a stand of 97 when Jake Durnell took his third wicket Matthew Crowther bowled for 39 (59 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 152-5, Mark Walling was the new man in but was soon out caught by Luke Platt off Kieran McClintock for 9 (14 balls).

Ian Walling came to the wicket and went on the attack, they had put on 55 when Joseph Pearson fell caught behind by Taariq Chiecktey off Kieran McClintock for 68 (118 ball)(8x4, 3x6), 222-7, Ernie Collinson was the new batsman and he supported Ian Wlling until he fell to the Chiecktey/McClintock combination, caught behind by Taariq Chiecktey bowled Kieran McClintock for 7 (6 balls), 233-8.

Danny Gilbert was Ian Walling's new partner and they saw Garstang close on 243-8 in their 50 overs, Ian Walling was 55no (26 balls)(1x4, 7x6) and Danny Gilbert 1no (1 ball).

The Longridge bowling was Kieran McClintock 3-54 from 6 overs, Jake Durnell 3055 off 15, Jonathan Millward 2-48 from 15, Tom Howarth 0-13 off 4, Jacob Proctor 0-25 from 6 and Ollie Mullin 0-44 off 4

The Longridge reply got off to a steady start, Taariq Chiecktey was the first out bowled by Cory Cater for 13 (15 balls)(2x4), 30-1, the hosts number three was Kieran McClintock, Corey Cater struck again with two wickets in an over, Luke Platt was caught by Michael Walling for 22 (24 balls)(4x4), 49-2, Zac Christie came to the wicket but five balls later was caught behind by Matthew Crowhter for 0, 49-3.

Joshua Holt Jnr was the new batsman but with only six runs added lost Kieran McClintock bowled by Danny Gilbert for 15 (36 balls)(3x4), 55-4. Rob Hollinghurst joined Holt Jnr and they kept the scoreboard ticking over until Ian Walling was brought into the attack with immediate results bowling Rob Hollinghurst for 18 (25 balls)(4x4), 85-5.

Tom Howarth replaced Hollinghurst but he lost Joshua Holt Jnr caught and bowled by Ian Walling for 18 (23 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 102-6. Two runs later Ian Walling took two wickets in two balls, Ollie Mullin was the first bowled for 0 (6 balls), 104-7, incoming batsman Jacob Proctor fell next ball lbw for 0 (1 ball), 104-8.

Jonathan Millward came to the wicket but two runs later he was bowled by Ernie Collinson for 1 (11 balls), 106-9, Jake Durnell was in at eleven but without further addition Tom Howarth was stumped by Matthew Crowhter off Sumit Ruikar for 15 (22 balls)(2x4) as Longridge were bowled out for 106 in 28 overs, Jake Durnell was o no (1 ball).

All the Garstang bowlers took a wicket, Ian Walling took 4-15 from 4 overs, Corey Cater 3-35 off 8, Ernie Collinson 1-0 from 1, Sumit Ruikar 1-18 off 6 and Danny Gilbert 1-34 from 9.

Netherfield v Settle

Netherfield won the toss at Parkside Road and chose to bat first, they got off to a good start and were approaching fifty when Ben Barrow was bowled by Will Davidson for 15 (39 balls)(2x4), 47-1.

Cole Mcconchie came in at three and with Richard Everett were going well, their partnership of 76 was broken by Amar Ullah having Richard Everett caught and bowled for 54 (79 balls)(8x4), 123-3. next in was John Huck and with Mcconchie were going well and kept up the score rate, He was next out bowled by Amar Ullah for 30 (32 balls)(5x4), 190-3.

James Royce joined Mcconnchie but was soon out caught by John Davidson off Amar Ullah for 4 (12 balls), 196-4, Oli Wileman came to the wicket but one run later Will Davidson took the prize wicket of Cole Mcconchie stumped by Noah Smith for 76 (70 balls)(8x4, 3x6), 197-5

Lee Hogg was the next batsman, Will Davidson struck with two wickets in an over, Lee Hogg was caught by John Davidson for 5 (3 balls), 207-6, new man David Darely was bowled for 0 (3 balls), 207-7.

Oliver Sanday replaced Darley and with OliWileman moved the score along until Will Davidson claimed his fifth wicket Oliver Sanday caught by Will Vause for 18 (24 balls), 251-8.

Isaac Medhurst was in at ten and with Wileman saw Netherfield close on 257-8 in their 50 overs, Oli Wileman was 25no (37 balls)(1x6) and Isaac Medhurst 3no (4 balls).

The Settle bowling was Will Davidson 5-60 from 13 overs, Amar Ullah 3-53 off 15, Tom Davidson 0-19 from 5, Benjamin Hulse 0-20 off 3, Will Vause 0-23 from 2, Eddy Read 0-26 off 5 and Gautam Waghela 0-53 from 7.

The Settle reply started well but them both openers fell on the same score, Zane Nirodi was the first to go caught by Ben Barrow off Matt Jackson for 11 (26 balls)(2x4), 48-1, Will Davidson followed bowled by Isaac Medhurst for 36 (25 balls)(4x4, 2x6), 48-2.

We now had two new batsmen Amar Ullah and Gautam Waghela but Amar Ullah was soon out caught by Oli Wileman off Isaac Medhurst for 1 (16 balls), 62-3. John Davidson was the next man in but soon became Matt Jackson's second wicket bowled for 4 (8 balls), 71-4.

Tom Davidson came to the wicket but he too became a Matt Jackson victim caught by Oli Wileman for 0 (5 balls), 77-5. James Snowden replaced Davidson but fell caught behind by Richard Everett off Oliver Sanday for 0 (7 balls), 86-6.

Benjamin Hulse was the incoming batsman but disaster struck for the visitors as Gautam Waghela was run out by Cole Mcconchie for 36 (60 balls)(3x4), 98-7.

Will Vause was next in but one run later he was stumped by Richard Everett off Cole Mcconchie for 0 (5 balls), 99-8. Number ten was Eddy Read who was out caught by Ben Barrow off Cole Mcconchie for 0 (3 balls), 108-9.

In came Noah Smith and with Benjamin Hulse dug in but to no avail Oli Wileman bowled Noah Smith for 9 (22 balls) as Settle were bowled out for 130 in 38.1 overs with Benjamin Hulse 17no (52 balls)(3x4).

For Netherfield Matt Jackson took 3-33 from 12 overs, Cole Mcconchie 2-16 off 7, Isaac Medhurst 2-40 from 9, Oliver Sanday 1-17 off 6 and Oli Wileman 1-21 from 4.1.

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 12

Carlisle v Great Eccleston

Great Eccleston won the toss at Edenside and elected to bat first, they got off to a bad start losing two early wickets, Nisanth Nithian was bowled by Chris Blythe for 1, 5-1. Alexander Rhodes followed two runs later caught behind by Tom Benn off Nico Watt for 0, 7-2.

Matthew Lawrenson and Mohammed Fazil set about rebuilding the innings and were going well until Nico Watt bowled Matthew Lawrenson for 25, 82-3. Mohamed Nadeem was the new batsman and with Fazil moved the score along, Johnny Westgarth made the breakthrough having Mohamed Nadeem caught by Zephania Arinaitwe for 16, 118-4.

Next in was Basit Sultan but he soon became wicket number two for Johnny Westgarth caught by Michael Slack for 5, 126-5. the incoming batsman was Joe McMillan but disaster for the visitors as Ben Davidson trapped Mohammed Fazil lbw for 70 (7 x4), 133-6, Alex Swale came to the wicket but with only six runs added Joe McMillan was bowled by Ben Davidson for 4, 139-7, Will Turnbull replaced McMillan, Johnny Westgarth claimed his third wicket Alex Swale caught and bowled for 9, 151-8.

Phil Booth joined Will Turnbull, Will Turnbull was next out stumped by Tom Benn off Ben Davidson for 7, 155-9. Will Thistlethwaite was next in and with Phil Booth saw Great Eccleston close on 172-9 in their 46 overs, Phil Booth was 9no and Will Thistlethwaite 4no.

The Carlisle bowling figures were Ben Davidson 3-23 from 7 overs, Johnny Westgarth 3-39 off 9, Nico Watt 2-32 from 9, Chris Blythe 1-19 off 8, Michael Slack 0-22 from 5 and Ben Purdham 0-26 off 8.

The Carlisle reply got off to a terrible start losing both openers for one run, Zephania Arinaitwe was stumped by Will Thistlethwaite off Mohamed Nadeem for 0, 0-1, Marc Brown was run out by Alexander Rhodes for 0, 1-2.

Tom Benn and Ben Davidson had the task of rebuilding the innings, they were doing well with a stand of 83 when Phil Booth bowled Ben Davidson for 30 (4x4), 84-3, Michael Slack joined Benn and they continued to make good progress, Mohamed Nadeem broke the partnership having Michael Slack caught by Alexander Rhodes for 38 (4x4), 151-4.

Alex Raybould replaced Slack and with Tom Benn saw the hosts home on 173-4 in 43.2 overs, Tom Benn was 85no (8x4) and Alex Raybould 10no (2x4).

For Great Eccleston Mohamed Nadeem took 2-41 from 14 overs, Phil Booth 1-34 off 8, Will Turnbull 0-12 from 2.2, Nisanth Nithian 0-12 off 2, Mohammed Fazil 0-22 from 5 and Alexander Rhodes 0-50 off 12

Carnforth v Vernon Carus

Carnforth won the toss at Lodge Quarry and chose to bat first, they lost two early wickets, Freddie Whatmuff was bowled by Matthew Timms for 2 (29 balls), 7-1, number three was Ryan Nelson who lost Lewis Spurr bowled by Jacob Holland for 11 (34 balls), 19-2.

James Park Johnson joined Ryan Nelson and they were making steady progress when disaster struck with James Park Johnson being run out by Wes Royle for 35 (40 balls)(3x4, 2x6), 68-3. Bradley Hoyle was the new batsman but was soon out lbw to Matthew Timms for 11 (16 balls)(2x4), 80-4.

Shane Dixon replaced Hoyle but with only seven runs added lost Ryan Nelson caught by Will Adams off Kashif Jamil for 23 (52 balls)(3x4), 87-5. Adam Hornby was next in and with Shane Dixon leading the way had a stand of 50 broken with Adam Hornby stumped by Haren Shetty off Kashif Jamil for 13 (40 balls), 137-6.

Tom Parkinson was the new batsman but became Jacob Holland's second wicket bowled for 4 (7 balls), 149-7. Sam Woodburn came to the wicket and in the 46th over and lost Shane Dixon stumped by Haren Shetty off Ian Dunn for 46 (64 balls)(7x4, 1x6), 162-8.

Alfie Hill was Sam Woodburn's new partner and became Jacob Holland's next victim bowled for 3 (5 balls), 168-9. Number eleven was James Parkinson who fell two runs later bowled by Jacob Holland for 1 (2 balls) as Carnforth were bowled out for 170 in 47.5 overs. Sam Woodburn was 10no (15 balls).

The bowling figures were Jacob Holland 4-55 from 13.5 overs, Matthew Timms 2-33 off 15, Kashif Jamil 2-37 from 10, Ian Dunn 1-16 off 4 and Fraser Young 0-24 from 5.

Hasan Zaman and Will Adams opened for the visitors, Will Adams went early caught behind by Shane Dixon off James Park Johnson for 1 (17 balls), 15-1. Haren Shetty came in at three but on reaching 13 (25 balls)(2x4) he was caught by Tom Parkinson off James Park Johnson, 40-2.

Jaxon Cornford was next in but was quickly out caught behind by Shane Dixon off James Park Johnson for 0 (7 balls),43-3. Wes Royle was the new batsman but with only six runs added he was caught behind by Shane Dixon off Freddie Whatmuff for 4 (11 balls), 49-4.

Ian Dunn joined Hasan Zaman but soon became Freddie Whatmuff's next wicket bowled for 11 (31 balls)(2x4), 66-5. Daniel Cairns replaced Dunn and with Zaman were making good progress when he was bowled by Tom Parkinson for 16 (33 balls)(2x4), 94-7.

Matthew Timms came to the crease and was scoring freely until he was out caught behind by Shane Dixon off James Parkinson for 26 (21 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 131-7, James Parkinson swung the game towards the hosts with two wickets in two balls, opener Hasan was his first wicket caught behind by Shane Dixon for 46 (108 balls)(6x4), 138-8, next ball incoming batsman Kashif Jamil was caught by Sam Woodburn for 0 (1 ball), 138-9.

Number eleven Fraser Young walked out with the visitors requiring 33 from 6.4 overs, Jacob Holland took over and with Young saw the visitors to victory reaching 171-9 in 49.5 overs, Jacob Holland was 34no (37 balls)(4x4, 1x6) with Fraser Young 3no (15 balls).

For Carnforth Freddie Whatmuff took 3-25 from 15 overs, James Parkinson 3-53 off 9.5, James Park Johnson 2-29 from 9, Tom Parkinson 1-43 off 13, Alfie Hill 0-8 from 2 and Sam Woodburn 0-9 off 1.

Wicket-keeper Shane Dixon had five victims in the innings.

Euxton v Thornton Cleveleys

Thornton Cleveleys won the toss at Balshaw Park and invited Euxton to bat first, They lost an early wicket Joshua Rolinson trapping Ben Houghton lbw for 7 (15 balls), 19-1.

James Bone was the Euxton number three and with Josh Tolley were keeping the scoreboard ticking over until Joshua Sackfield took two wickets in two balls, he bowled Josh Tolley for 33 (43 balls)(3x4, 2x6), 73-2, next ball incoming batsman Max Harper was bowled for 0 (1 ball), 73-3.

Hakeem Perryman was next in but with only seven runs added lost James Bone lbw to Joshua Sackfield for 25 (55 balls)(3x4), 80-4. Jack Morgan joined Perryman and with Perryman taking the lead had a stand of 67 broken by Christopher Hedges bowling Jack Morgan for 24 (55 balls)(3x4), 147-5. Michael Atkinson replaced Morgan but disaster struck the hosts losing three wickets in one Joshua Sackfield over, Michael Atkinson was the first lbw for 4 (23 balls), 164-6, new man Joseph Barker became his fifth wicket lbw for 0 (2 balls) and next in Dave McCabe wicket number six lbw for 0 (3 balls), 165-8. Hakeem Perryman had been watching the fall of wickets and saw his new partner Louis Sweeney fall lbw to Joshua Rolinson for 15 (18 balls), 192-9.

Joseph Bowden came in at eleven and two runs later saw Hakeem Perryman caught by Will Weber off Christopher Hedges for 66 (79 balls)(5x4, 1x6) as Euxton were bowled out for 194 in 49.1 overs with Joseph Bowden 1no (1 ball).

Joshua Sackfield took 6-41 from 15 overs, Christopher Hedges 2-26 off 7.1, Joshua Rolinson 2-49 from 9, Daniel Howard 0-18 off 6, Cameron Chisholm 0-27 from 4 and Jake Apperley 0-31 off 8.

The visitors got off to a good start with an opening partnership of 50 broken by James Bone bowling Joshua Sackfield for 18 (47 balls)(2x4), 50-1. Number three was Sam Curwen and with Josh Borrell were going nicely until two wickets were lost for one run, Sam Curwen was caught by Ben Houghton off Josh Tolley for 13 (21 balls)(2x4), 84-2, one run later new man Joshua Rolinson was caught by James Bone off Ben Houghton for 0 (9 balls), 85-3.

Cameron Chisholm joined Borrell but soon became Josh Tolley's next wicket bowled for 12 (14 balls)(2x4), 109-4. Christopher Hedges replaced Chisholm, Josh Tolley struck with two wickets in two balls bowling Christopher Hedges for 7 (17 balls), 123-5, next ball Richard Jenkinson was lbw for 0, 123-6.

Josh Borrell had a new partner in Will Weber but he quickly became wicket number five for Josh Tolley lbw for 12 (8 balls) 138-7. Daniel Howard came in and offered support to Borrell but became another Josh Tolley victim caught by Michael Atkinson for 10 (21 balls)(2x4), 158-8. Jake Apperley was in at number ten and saw Josh Borrell's fighting innings come to an end caught by Hakeem Perryman off once again Josh Tolley for 66 (115 balls)(8x4), 165-9.

Ethan Elthick was in at eleven and four runs later bowled by Josh Tolley for 0 (4 balls) as Thornton Cleveleys were bowled out for 169 in 45.2 overs, Jake Apperley was 7no (15 balls).

Josh Tolley had the figures of 8-41 from 13.2 overs supported by Ben Houghton 1-35 off 7, James Bone 1-38 from 15, Joseph Bowden 0-19 off 6 and Joseph Barker 0-29 from 4.

Mawdesley v Barrow

Mawdesley won the toss at Rectory Field and asked the visitors to bat first, they got off to a steady start, Simon Chadd was the first to go bowled by Joshua Adamson for 6 (24 balls), 35-1, Coming in at three was Toby Mowat and with Drew Postlethwaite put on 49 when Joshua Adamson claimed his second wicket bowling Toby Mowat for 19 (26 balls)(4x4), 84-2.

Dikshant Vairagi was next in but was soon out bowled by Neil O'Malley for 5 (7 balls), 99-3. Sam Dutton was the new batsman but with only seven runs added lost Drew Postlethwaite bowled by Neil O'Malley for 51 (58 balls)(9x4), 106-4.

Jack Singleton came to the wicket and with Sam Dutton kept the score moving along, Neil O'Malley claimed his third wicket bowling Sam Dutton for 24 (25 balls)(5x4), 143-5, Nisanth Arun joined Jack Singleton and they continued to make progress, once again it was Neil O'Malley who broke the partnership having Nisanth Arun caught by Oliver Ellicott for 15 (21 balls), 172-6.

Cameron McDougall replaced Arun but soon lost his partner Jack Singleton caught behind by Fyffe Dennis off Joshua Adamson for 28 (54 balls)(5x4), 187-7, Daryl Wearing was the new batsman but six runs later lost Cameron McDougall bowled by Joshau Adamson for 13 (15 balls)(3x4), 193-8.

Sam Henderson was in at ten and with Wearing moved the score along until Daryl Wearing was caught by Oliver Ellicoot off Daniel Unsworth for 7 (19 balls), 216-9.

Number eleven was Ben Carr who was the last man out lbw to Daniel Unsworth for 2 (14 balls) as Barrow were bowled out for 239 in 48.5 overs with Sam Henderson 19no (33 balls)(2x4, 1x6).

The Mawdesley bowling figures were Neil O'Malley 4-62 from 15 overs, Joshua Adamson 4-81 off 15, Daniel Unsworth 2-47 from 11.5, Lee Berrie 0-8 off 3, Louis Royal 0-15 from 2 and Oliver Ellicott 0-19 off 2.

The hosts did not get off to the best of starts losing Daniel Unsworth run out by Sam Henderson for 8 (9 balls)(2x4), 9-1, Charlie Hailwood came in at three but was soon out caught by Daryl Wearing off Sam Henderson for 0 (7 balls), 18-2.

Aneeq Hassan came in next and with Fyffe Dennis doubled the score only for Fyffe Dennis to be out caught by Dikshant Vairagi off Sam Henderson for 14 (21 balls)(3x4), 36-3, Lee Berrie joined Hassan but before they could get set both fell on the same score, Aneeq Hassan was caught behind by Drew Postlethwaite off Daryl Wearing for 12 (19 balls)(3x4), 48-4, Lee Berrie was caught by Simon Chadd off Sam Henderson for 8 (6 balls)(2x4), 48-5.

We now had two new batsmen Lewis McKinnon and Trevor Webster, Daryl Wearing claimed his second wicket Trevor Webster caught behind by Drew Postlethwaite for 9 (12 balls)(2x4), 58-6. Oliver Ellicoot replaced Webster but did not last long caught behind by Drew Postlethwaite off Sam Henderson for 1 (5 balls), 61-7.

Joshua Adamson joined McKinnon but with nine runs added was caught by Simon Chadd off Dikshant Vairagi for 1 (11 balls), 70-8, Ben Carr mopped up the remaining two wickets, having Neil O'Malley caught by Dikshant Vairagi for 1 (6 balls), 71-9 and finally Lewis McKinnon caught by Cameron McDougall for 9 (32 balls) as Mawdesley were bowled out for 74 in 22.2 overs, Louis Royal was 0no (6 balls).

For Barrow Sam Henderson took 4-34 from 10 overs, Ben Carr 2-0 off 1.2, Daryl Wearing 2-28 from 9 and Dikshant Vairagi 1-4 off 2.

St Annes v Penwortham

Penwortham won the toss at Vernon Road and decided to bat first, Robbie Sumner and Jonathon Hothersall opened with an opening partnership of 65, Robbie Sumner was the first man out bowled by Alex Urquhart for 19 (46 balls)(2x4), 65-1. Ryan Dimasi was the visitors number three and with Hothersall taking the lead put on 70 runs, Chamika De Zoysa made the breakthrough having Ryan Dimasi caught by Rory Urquhart for 15 (34 balls), 135-2.

Ryan Maddock was the new batsman, in the 34th over Jonathon Hothersall reached his century, he and Ryan Maddock had a partnership of 65 broken by Lukman Vahaluwala bowling Ryan Maddock for 12 (27 balls), 190-3. Joseph Bradshaw joined Hothersall and saw Jonathon Hothersall reach 150 in the 40th over, Rory Urquhart was brought into the attack and had Joseph Bradshaw caught by Chamika De Zoysa for 25 (31 balls)(2x4), 299-4.

Harish Humsa replaced Bradshaw and saw Jonathon Hothersall hit a four to take his score to 202, Harish Humsa was then run out by Nathan Bolus for 2 (1 ball), 308-5.

We were now into the last over with Rory Urquhart bowling, he bowled incoming batsman Charlie Parker for 1 (2 balls), 309-6, next ball he had Kane Donaghy lbw for 0 (309-7.)

Ryan Roberts came to the wicket and with Hothersall saw Penwortham close on 314-7 in their 50 overs, Jonathan Hothersall carried his bat and finished on 202no (156 balls)(25x4, 7x6) with Ryan Roberts 5no (4 balls).

The St Annes bowling figures were Rory Urquhart 3-54 from 6 overs, Alex Urquhart 1-39 off 5, Chamika De Zoysa 1-54 from 9, Lukman Vahaluwala 1-74 off 13, Keith Reid 0-39 from 8 and Ryan Birkman 0-43 off 9.

The St Annes reply got off to a bad start losing both openers early, Nathan Armstrong went first caught behind by Robbie Sumner off Ryan Roberts for 13 (15 balls)(3x4), 14-1, Lukman Vahaluwala followed caught behind by Robbie Sumner off Ryan Maddock for 0 (18 balls), 15-2.

Nathan Bolus and Luke Jardine were the new batsmen, with only eleven runs added Nathan Bolus was caught behind by Robbie Sumner off Ryan Maddock for 3 (14 balls), 26-3, Ashton Charles was next in and with Jardine tried to rebuild the innings. Nathan Walmsley was brought into the attack and in his first over trapped Ashton Charles lbw for 4 (23 balls), 54-4.

Alex Urquhart replaced Charles but soon became wicket number two for Nathan Walmsley bowled for 10 (15 balls)(2x4), 75-5, James Bradley was in next but he to became a Walmsley victim bowled for 9 (20 balls)(2x4), 91-6.

Any chance St Annes had went with Luke Jardine falling lbw again to Walmsley for 38 (50 balls)(7x4), 94-7. Rory Urquhart and Ryan Birkman were the men at the crease, Rory Urquhart was next out bowled by Charlie Parker for 9 (13 balls), 104-8.

Chamika De Zoysa came to the wicket and without any addition to the score saw Nathan Walsmley claim his fifth wicket Ryan Birkman caught by Matthew Finnerty for 4 (11 balls), 104-9.

Keith Reid joined De Zoysa and the St Annes innings closed on 116 all out in 32 overs with Nathan Walmsley taking his sixth wicket Chamika De Zoysa lbw for 4 (8 balls) with Keith Reid 1no (8 balls).
