The Northern Cricket League Review

The Northern Premier League 2025 season round 6, Garstang replaced Kendal at the top of Division 1 due to the weather, Kendal's game against Blackpool was abandoned without a ball being bowled and Garstang took advantage with their win over Fulwood & Broughton.

Netherfield Chorley and Settle were also winners.

In Division 2 St Annes make it six out of six with the win against Vernon Carus and extend their lead, there were also wins for Barrow, Great Eccleston, Euxton and Carlisle.

DIVISION ONE

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 6

Fleetwood v Chorley

Fleetwood won the toss at Broadwater and invited the visitors to bat first, They had early success Declan Clerkin trapping Stuart Naden lbw for 0 (7 balls), 2-1.

Edwin Moulton came in at three and with Miller Childs steadily built up the score, Declan Clerkin claimed his second wicket bowling Miller Childs for 14 (45 balls), 26-2.

Keegan Petersen was the new batsman, he took the lead as they kept the scoreboard moving along, Michael Rippon broke the partnership having Edwin Moulton lbw for 20 (57 balls)(3x4), 82-3. next in was Maxwell Seedall and he supported Petersen, disaster struck for the visitors Keegan Petersen was run out by Charlie Clark for 64 (78 balls)(6x4), 129-4.

Will Moulton replaced Petersen with eleven overs to go, he upped the run rate until he was out caught by Woody Wilson off Declan Clerkin for 31 (24 balls)(34, 2x6), 176-5,

Kieran Yould joined Seedall but was out going for the runs caught by Declan Clerkin off Matthew Siddall for 3 (7 balls), 180-6, James Dunn came to the wicket but soon became Matthew Siddall's second wicket out caught by Charlie Clark for 3 (6 balls), 180-7.

Ben Simpkins was the new man and with Seedall saw Chorley close on 186-7 in their 50 overs with Maxwell Seedall 31no (75 balls)(2x4) and Ben Simpkins 1no (2 balls).

The Fleetwood bowling was Declan Clerkin 3-43 from 13 overs, Matthew Siddall 2-47 off 13, Michael Rippon 1-51 from 10, Tomas King 0-5 off 2 and Jeremy Davies 0-34 from 12.

In reply the hosts lost two early wickets, Edwin Moulton did the damage, he had Andy Drake caught by Sam Steeple for 2 (9 balls), 10-1, number three Charlie Clark followed bowled for 1 (4 balls), 18-2.

Tomas King was joined by Michael Rippon and they were moving steadily along until Sam Steeple bowled Tomas King for 25 (56 balls)(4x4), 66-3.

Harry McAleer was the new batsman, runs were hard to get then disaster for the hosts with Matt Dawson taking two wickets in seven balls, Michael Rippon was lbw for 22 (73 balls)(3x4), 88-4, new man Adam Sharrocks fell the same way lbw for 0 (6 balls), 88-5.

Jeremy Davies came to the wicket but he was soon out bowled by Sam Steeple for 1 (4 balls), 93-6. Declan Clerkin was the new batsman but soon lost his partner Harry McAleer lbw to Sam Steeple for 17 (51 balls)(2x4), 104-7.

Woody Wilspn came to the wicket but quickly became Matt Dawson's third victim lbw for 0 (6 balls), 109-8. Hassan Mughal was in at ten and with Declan Clerkin took the score to 130 when Keegan Petersen took two wickets in two balls to close the innings, he bowled Declan Clerkin for 17 (40 balls) and next ball caught and bowled Matthew Siddall for 0 (1 ball) as Fleetwood were bowled out for 130 in 43.4 overs with Hassan Mughal 11no (12 balls)(2x4).

The Chorley bowling figures were Sam Steeple 3-30 from 15 overs, Matt Dawson 3-35 off 15, Keegan Petersen 2-5 from 0.4, Edwin Moulton 2-16 off 7, Janes Dunn0-13 from 4 and Will Moulton 0-14 off 2.

Garstang v Fulwood & Broughton

Fulwood & Broughton won the toss at the Riverside Sports ground and decided to bat first, Matt Smith and Ewen Mansford opened, Danny Gilbert made the breakthrough with two wickets in five balls, he had Matt Smith lbw for 11 (22 balls)(2x4), 14-1, he then bowled number three Ben Parkinson for 0 (4 balls), 14-2.

Simon Kerrigan was the new batsman, runs were hard to come by, he was the next man out caught by Dan Curwen off Corey Cater for 6 (25 balls), 26-3. James McWilliam joined Mansford but with only twelve runs added was out caught by Dan Curwen off Sumit Ruikar for 4 (22 balls), 38-4.

Parshwa Panchwatkar replaced McWilliam and with Mansford were slowly rebuilding the innings until he was out lbw to Tom Higson for 13 (28 balls), 69-5, Lewis Wellings was in next but lost his partner Ewen Mansford bowled by Sumit Ruikar for 26 (105 balls)(3x4), 73-6.

Cameron Port came to the wicket but with only four runs added both he and Lewis Wellings fell on the same score, Sumit Ruikar bowled Cameron Port for 0 (4 balls), 77-7, Tom Higson bowled Lewis Wellings for 4 (12 balls), 77-8.

We now had two new batsmen Kahlil Patel and Mayank Singh, Tom Higson soon accounted for Mayank Singh caught by M Walling for 2 (7 balls), 81-9.

Marcus Allen was in at eleven and fell lbw to Tom Higson for 7 (10 balls) as Fulwood & Broughton was bowled out for 97 in 43.2 overs with Kahlil Patel 11no (23 balls).

All the Garstang bowlers took wickets with Tom Higson leading the way with 4-27 from 6.2 overs with Sumit Ruikar 3-24 off 15, Danny Gilbert 2-19 from 10 and Corey Cater 1-21 off 12.

Tom Higson and Michael Walling were the opening pair with Higson attacking the bowling, Michael Walling was out caught behind by James McWilliam off Kahlil Patel fro 8 (7 balls) in the third over with with the score on 31.

Joesph Pearson joined Higson but he was next out lbw to Kahlil Patel for 8 (22 balls), 58-2. Mark Walling replaced Pearson but then things changed, Tom Higson was out caught by Lewis Wellings off Simon Kerrigan for 32 (34 balls)(3x4, 2x6), 71-3.

The seed of doubt was there as three wickets fell for five runs, new batsman Sumit Ruikar was caught by Lewis Wellings off Kahlil Patel for 0 (4 balls), 77-7, one run later Mark Walling was run out by Kahlil Patel for 13 (10 balls)(2x4), 78-5.

Dan Curwen and Mark Winstanley were the two new batsmen but with four runs added Mark Winstanley was caught by Ben Parkinson for 2 ((12 balls), 82-6. Matthew Crowther was Dan Curwen's new partner, Simon Kerrigan struck having Dan Curwen caught by Lewis Wellings for 7 (16 balls).

Alasdair Egerton was next in and saw the hosts home on 101-7 in 20.1 overs with Matthew Crowther 9no (balls)(2x4) and Alasdair Egerton 6no (8 balls)(1x6).

The visitors used only two bowlers Simon Kerrigan 3-25 from 10 overs and Kahlil Patel 3-68 off 10.1.

Kendal v Blackpool

The match was abandoned without a ball being bowled

Netherfield v Leyland

Netherfield won the toss at Parkside Road and chose to bat first, Reece Irving and Ben Barrow gave them a brilliant start with an opening partnership of 182, Reece Irving was the man out bowled by Will Smith for 80 (82 balls)(10 x4, 1x6), 182-1.

Cole Mcconchie was in at three and continued the run fest, Ben Barrow reached his century but them lost Cole Mcconchie caught by Will Smith off Ned Patterson for 58 (25 balls)(4x4, 5x6). 252-2.

Will Huck came to the wicket faced one ball then the game was abandoned on 252-2 in 33 overs, Ben Barrow 101no (89 balls)(12x4, 3x6) and John Huck 0no (1 ball)

For Leyland Will Smith took 1-47 from 5 overs, Ned Patterson 1-77 off 12, Sam Oldham 0-23 from 2, Andrew Jacques 0-27 off 3, Ross Bretherton 0-29 from 4 and Luke Hands 0-44 off 7.

Settle v Longridge

Settle won the toss at the Marshfield ground and asked the visitors to bat first, Taariq Chiecktey and Joshua Mullin gave them a good start , William Davidson made the breakthrough trapping Joshua Mullin lbw for 14 (32 balls)(2x4), 31-1.

Luke Platt was the visitors number three and with Chiecktey had doubled the score when he fell lbw to Amar Ullah for 10 (55 balls), 73-2, Zac Christie was next in, the score had just passed the hundred when Noah Smith stumped Taariq Chiecktey off Amar Ullah for 59 (82 balls)(6x4), 104-3.

Zach Proctor joined Christie but was soon out stumped by Noah Smith off Gautam Waghela for 9 (7 balls)(2x4), 125-4, Rob Hollinghurst replaced Proctor and with Christie were going well, Amar Ullah claimed his third wicket Zac Christie caught by William Davidson for 37 (68 balls)(3x4), 184-5.

The next man in was Tom Howarth but with only six runs added he lost Rob Hollinghurst caught by John Davidson off Tom Davidson for 35 (33 balls)(4x4, 1x6), 190-6.

Kieran McClintock came to the wicket but three runs later Tom Howarth was bowled by Tom Davidson for 5 (12 balls), 193-7. Ollie Mullin was the new batsman but lasted only three balls caught and bowled by Amar Ullah for 1, 194-8.

Gabriel Dowthwaite was McClintock's new partner and they saw Longridge close on 205-8 in their 50 overs with Kieran McClintock 9no (8 balls) and Gabriel Dowthwaite 4no (4 balls).

Amar Ullah took 4-51 from 15 overs, Tom Davidson 2-59 off 13, William Davidson 1-18 from 6, Gautam Waghela 1-24 off 5, Will Vause 0-19 from 2 and Eddy Read 0-31 off 9.

The Settle opening pair were William Davidson and Benjamin Hulse, Davidson pushed on and Hulse backed him up, Ollie Mullin made the breakthrough with two wickets in one over, he bowled Benjamin Hulse for 12 (22 balls), 49-1, four balls later he bowled number three Zane Nirodi for 0 (4 balls), 49-2.

Gautam Waghela joined Davidson and the score was approaching the hundred when Gabriel Dowthwaite bowled Gautam Waghela for 20 (31 balls)(3x4), 99-3, Amar Ullah was next in but with only four runs added Ollie Mullin again took two wickets in an over, William Davidson was the first to go lbw for 51 (56 balls)(5x4, 2x6), 103-4. next ball new man John Davidson was caught behind by Taariq Chiecktey for 0 (1 ball), 103-5.

Tom Davidson replaced John Davidson and with Ullah moved the score along slowly, Tom Howarth was brought into the attack and in his second over had Tom Davidson caught by Rob Hollinghurst for 5 (23 balls), 124-6, James Snowden was Amar Ullah's new partner and became Ollie Mullin's fifth wicket caught behind by Taariq Chiecktey for 11 (16 balls)(2x4), 140-7.

The match was slipping away from the hosts and did not improve with new man in Eddy Read falling lbw to Ollie Mullin for 3 (10 balls), 150-8. Will Vause came in but with only ten runs added Amar Ullah fell lbw to Tom Howarth for 24 (50 balls)(3x4), 160-9.

Number eleven Noah Smith and Will Vause had the task of scoring 46 runs in thirteen overs for victory or Longridge one wicket to win, the last pair batted sensibly and saw Settle home on 209-9 in 47.2 overs, Will Vause was 27no (44 balls)(1x4, 2x6) and Noah Smith 12no (27 balls)(2x4).

The Longridge bowling was Ollie Mullin 6-45 from 15 overs, Tom Howarth 2-25 off 10, Gabriel Dowthwaite 1-38 from 9, Kieran McClintock 0-36 off 4 and Jonathan Millward 0-41 from 9.2.

LEAGUE MATCHES: ROUND 6

Barrow v Carnforth

Barrow won the toss at the Ernest Pass Memorial ground and put the visitors into bat. they got off to a terrible start losing their first five wickets for 16 runs.

Sam Henderson started the collapse Ryan Nelson lbw for 2 (3 balls), 2-1, Bradley Hoyle was in at three and saw opener Lewis Spurr fall caught by Dikshant Vairagi off Daryl Wearing for 1 (14 balls), 8-2. next in was James Park-Johnson who was soon out caught byCameron McDougall off Daryl Wearing for 0 (8 balls), 12-3.

The new batsman was Dylan Conroy, he was out first ball caught by Simon Chadd off Sam Henderson or 0, 15-4, Shane Dixon came to the wicket but with only one run added lost Bradley Hoyle caught by Sam Dutton off Sam Henderson for 8 (42 balls), 16-5.

Tom Parkinson joined Shane Dixon and they endeavoured to rebuild the innings, their efforts were thwarted with Tom Parkinson falling caught by Simon Chadd off Daryl Wearing for 3 (5 balls). 28-6.

Four runs were added when two wickets fell in five balls, Shane Dixon went first caught by Dan Adams off Sam Henerson for 9 (24 balls)(2x4), 32-7, New batsman Zack Dodds was out caught by Simon Chadd off Daryl Wearing for 4 (5 balls), 32-8.

Romario Brathwaite and James Parkinson were the batsmen at the crease, Daryl Wearing cleaned up the tail with wickets five and six, five was Romario Brathwaite caught by Dikshant Vairagi for 10 (11 balls)(2x4), 43-9. wicket number six was Alfie Hill caught by Dikshant Vairagi for 2 (3 balls) as Carnforth were bowled out for 46 in 21.3 overs.

Barrow only used two bowlers, Daryl Wearing 6-18 from 10.3 overs with Sam Henderson 4-24 off 11.

The hosts got off to a steady start, Dylan Conroy broke the opening partnership having Drew Postlethwaite lbw for 12 (20 balls)(1x6), 22-1, Dikshant Vairagi joined Simon Chadd and within sight of victory Daryl Conroy bowled Simon Chadd for 5 (15 balls), 39-2.

Cameron McDougall was in next but fell three runs short of the win caught by Zack Dodds off James Parkinson for 2 (22 balls), 44-3. Jack Singleton replaced McDougall and hit his first ball for four, Barrow reached their target 48-3 in 12.3 overs, Dikshant Vairagi 16no (3x4) and Jacl Singleton 4no (1 ball).

The Carnforth bowling was Dylan Conroy 2-5 from 4 overs, James Parkinson 1-4 of 2.3, Alfie Hill 0-5 from 2, Romaria Brathwaite 0-15 pff 1 and James Park-Johnson 0-19 from 3.

Great Eccleston v Mawdesley

Mawdesley won the toss at Hall Lane and asked the hosts to take first knock, openers Nisanth Nithian and Matthew Lawrenson gave them a brilliant start, their partnership was broken by Joshua Adamson having Nisanth Nithian lbw for 41 (49 balls)(6x4, 1x6), 88-1.

Alexander Rhodes was the hosts number three and he continued the good run rate, he fell lbw to Neil O'Malley for 25 (24 balls)(5x4), 123-2. Mohammed Fazil joined Lawrenson and they had put on 112 runs when Mohammed Fazil was caught by Joshua Adamson off Aneeq Hassan for 52(43 balls)(8x4, 1x6), 235-3.

Mohamed Nadeem was the new batsman and he kept the scoreboard moving along, Matthew Lawrenson reached his century and shortly afterwards Mohamed Nadeem was caught by Joshua Unsworth off Aneeq Hassan for 30 (20 balls)(1x4, 2x6), 281-4.

We were now in the last five overs and wickets fell chasing runs, Matthew Lawrenson was the next to go caught by Oliver Ellicott off Aneeq Hassan for 128 (138 balls)(17x4), 296-5.

Joe McMillan and Phil Booth were the new batsmen, Aneeq Hassan took wicket number four bowling Phil Booth for 4 (2 balls), 300-6, three wickets fell in the last over of the innings bowled by Aneeq Hassan, wicket number five Rishit Sharma was stumped by Fyffe Dennis for 4 (4 balls), 310-7, next ball Matt Moat was wicket number six caught by Daniel Unsworth for 0 (1 ball), 310-8.

Joe McMillan was run put off the last ball by Aneeq Hassan for 17 (13 balls) (2x4,1x6) as Great Eccleston closed on 311-9 in their 50 overs, Will Thistlethwaite was 1no (1 ball).

Aneeq Hassan took 6- 50 from 6 overs, Neil O.Malley 1-45 off 13, Joshua Adamson 1-53 from 13, Kasim Masood 0-24 off 3, Joshua Unsworth 0-25 from 3, Daniel Unsworth 0-29 off 3, Louis Royal 0-30 from 3 and Oliver Ellicott 0-42 off 6.

The Mawdesley reply got off to the worst start possible Daniel Unsworth run out by Joe McMillan off the fifth ball of the innings for 0, 0-1. Aneeq Hassam was in at three and with Kasim Masood took the score to 40 when Alexander Rhodes took two wickets in three balls, he had Aneeq Hassan caught by Mohammed Fazil for 22 (19 balls)(3x4,1x6), 40-2, two balls later new man Fyffe Dennis suffered the same fate caught by Mohammed Fazil for 0 (2 balls), 40-3.

Lee Berrie joined Kasim Masood and was scoring at a run a ball until he became Alexander Rhodes's third wicket caught by Mohamed Nadeem for 15 (15 balls)(3x4), 65-4. Oliver Ellicott was next in but soon lost Kasim Masood lbw to Mohamed Nadeem for 22 (41 balls)(2x4, 1x6), 73-5.

Joshua Unsworth replaced Masood and with Ellicott were approaching the hundred when Joshua Unsworth was caught by Nisanth Nithian off Mohammed Fazil for 12 (26 balls), 96-6. Joshua Adamson was next in but with only seven runs added Oliver Ellicott was stumped by Will Thistlethwaite off Mohammed Fazil for 10 (32 balls), 103-7.

Neil O'Malley was the new man in but was bowled by Phil Booth for 5 (9 balls), 117-8, Joshua Adamson fell one run later caught by Joe McMillan off Phil Booth for 6 (30 balls), 118-9.

The Mawdesley innings came to a close on 120 all out in 31.1 overs with Mohamed Nadeem bowling Noah Taylor-Hughes for 3 (9 balls) with Louis Royal 0no (5 balls).

The Great Eccleston bowling was Alexander Rhodes 3-34 from 6 overs, Phil Booth 2-7 off 2, Mohamed Nadeem 2-8 from 9.1, Mohammed Fazil 2-23 off 7 and Jim Proctor 0-38 from 7.

Penwortham v Euxton

Penwortham won the toss at Middleforth Green and invited the visitors to bat first, Josh Tolley and Max Harper took full control with an opening stand of 191, Josh Tolley reached his century and was then out caught by Joseph Bradshaw off Ashley Billington for 100 (100 balls)(10x4, 4x6), 191-1.

The Euxton number three was James Bone and he continued the run fest, The partnership was broken with Max Harper being run out by Ryan Roberts for 87 (128 balls)(10 x4, 1x6), 232-2, Ben Houghton was in next but was quickly out lbw to Ryan Roberts for 2 (3 balls), 245-3.

Hakeem Perryman was the new batsman but was soon out stumped by Robbie Sumner off Charlie Parker for 5 (9 balls), 277-4. Jack Shovelton joined Bone and they saw Euxton close on 323-4 in their 50 overs, James Bone was 77no (46 balls)(10x4, 2x6) and Jack Shovelton 30no (15 balls)(4x6).

The Penwortham bowling was Charlie Parker 1-36 from 3 overs, Ashley Billington 1-54 off 12, Ryan Roberts 1-66 from 11, Matthew Finnerty 0-29 off 3, Nathan Walmsley 0-40 from 7 and Ryan Maddock 0-87 off 14.

Ryan Dimasi and Robbie Sumner set off at a good rate, Jack Shovelton was introduced into the attack and with his first ball had Ryan Dimasi caught by Tom Carter for 25(28 balls)(5x4). 44-1, Jonathon Hothersall was in at three but quickly lost Robbie Sumner caught by Josh Tolley off James Bone for 19 (23 balls)(3x4), 46-2.

Ryan Maddock came to the wicket and with Hothersall were going well, Joseph Barker made the breakthrough bowling Jonathon Hothersall for 46 (39 balls)(4x4, 2x6), 118-3. Joseph Bradshaw was next in and he continued the chase until on reaching 30 (19 balls)(2x4,2x6) he was caught by Danny Curtis off Joseph Barker, 177-4.

The incoming batsman was Charlie Parker and with Maddock took the score past the two hundred, he was the next out bowled by Jack Shovelton for 22 (24 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 213-5.

The run rate had gone up 110 runs required in 15 overs, Harish Hamsa joined Maddock but was out caught by Ben Houghton off James Bone for 4 (7 balls), 225-6. the visitors struck a blow with the loss of Ryan Maddock bowled by Kack Shovelton for 61 (89 balls)(5x4, 1x6), 234-7.

We now had two new batsmen Nathan Walmsley and Ashley Billington, disaster for the hosts Nathan Walmsley was run out by Josh Tolley for 5 (19 balls), 251-8. Ryan Roberts joined Billington but with only nine runs added Ashley Billington was caught behind by Jack Morgan for 11 (11 balls)(2x4), 260-9.

Matthew Finnerty came in at eleven and with Ryan Roberts leading continued the chase until Joseph Barker bowled Matthew Finnerty for 2 (6 balls) as Penwortham were bowled out for 292 in 47.4 overs with Ryan Roberts 26no (23 balls)(3x4, 1x6).

Joseph Barker took 4-80 from 11.4 overs, Jack Shovelton 3-48 off 10, James Bone 2-82 from 15, Tom Carter 0-33 off 4 and Louis Sweeney 0-44 from 7.

Thornton Cleveleys v Carlisle

Carlisle won the toss at Illawala and chose to bat first, they got off to a good start with an opening partnership of 50, Tom Benn was the man out lbw to Joshua Rolinson for 30 (39 balls)(7 x4), 50-1.

Oliver Spedding was the visitors number three but was soon out bowled by Anthony Ellison for 0 (6 balls), 52-2, Michael Slack was next in and with Marc Brown were going well until he was caught behind by Sam Curwen off Joshua Sackfield for 33 (35 balls)(7x4), 119-3.Ben Davidson was the new batsman, Joshua Sackfield claimed his second wicket bowling Ben Davidson for 15 (31 balls)(2x4), 161-4.

Logan Edgar joined Marc Brown, Marc Brown had been keeping one end going but he was the next man out caught by Kai Collinge off Christopher Hedges for 75 (85 balls)(9x4, 2x6), 178-5. Brodie Glendinning came in but lost his partner Logan Edgar caught by Richard Jenkinson off Joshua Sackfield for 14 (26 balls), 193-6.

Nico Watt replaced Edgar and with Glendinning pushed the score along until he fell lbw to Cameron Chisholm for 21 (27 balls)(2x4), 263-7, five runs later Brodie Glendinning was out bowled by Cameron Chisholm for 53 (40balls)(5x4, 4x6), 268-8

Cameron Chisholm claimed his third wicket bowling Fraser Conn for 7 (6 balls), 277-9. Ben Purdham 4no (5 balls) and Johnny Westgarth 5no (3 balls) saw Carlisle close on 283-9 in their 50 overs.

All the Thornton Cleveleys bowlers took a wicket, Cameron Chisholm took 3-62 form 10 overs, Joshua Sackfield 3-63 off 16, Anthony Ellison 1-31 from 6, Christopher Hedges 1-42 off 8 and Joshua Rolinson 1-81 from 11.

The Thornton Cleveleys reply was a mirror image of the first innings, the opening pair Josh Borrell and Joshua Sackfield with an partnership of 156, Michael Slack broke the stand bowling Joshua Sackfield for 83 (89 balls)(8x4, 5x6), 156-1.

Number three Kai Collinge soon lost Josh Borrell caught by Brodie Gendinning off Nico Watt for 68 (94 balls)(9x4, 1x6), 177-2. Cameron Chisholm came to the wicket but with only five runs added he lost Kai Collinge bowled by Nico Watt for 4 (24 balls), 182-3.

New man in Joshua Rolinson quickly became wicket number three for Nico Watt bowled for 1 (3 balls), 185-4. Sam Curwen joined Chisholm, Nico Watt struck once again having Cameron Chisholm caught and bowled for 12 (19 balls), 196-5.

Richard Jenkinson replaced Chisholm only for Nico Watt to claim his fifth wicket Sam Curwen bowled for 4 (13 balls), 203-6, Richard Jenkinson followed three runs later bowled by Michael Slack for 5 (8 balls), 206-7.

We now had two new batsmen Daniel Howard and Christopher Hedges, they set about retrieving the situation and were keeping the scoreboard moving along until Michael Slack had Daniel Howard caught by Fraser Conn for 30 (21 balls)(4x6), 240-8.

Ethan Elphick was Hedges's new partner, Christopher Hedges fell to the Conn/Slack combination caught Fraser Conn bowled Michael Slack for 9 (12 balls), 255-9.

Anthony Ellison was in at eleven and with Ethan Elphick saw Thornton Cleveleys close on 273-9 in their 50 overs, Ethan Elphick was 20no (12 balls)(1x4, 2x6) and Anthony Ellison 6no (5 balls).

Nico Watt took 5-57 from 13 overs, Michael Slack 4-37 off 13, Brodie Glendinning 0-17 from 4, Johnny Westgarth 0-32 off 4, Fraser Conn 0-43 from 8 and Ben Purdham 0-73 off 8.

Vernon Carus v St Annes

Vernon Carus won the toss at Factory Lane and decided to bat first, Matthew Timms and Ian Dunn opened the batting, Matthew Timms went early bowled by Rory Urquhart for 4 (4 balls), 5-1.

Haren Shetty was in at three and with Ian Dunn steadily moved the score along until Lukman Vahaluwala bowled Haren Shetty for 11 (21 balls)(2x4), 41-2. next in was Wes Royle but with only one run added Ian Dunn was caught by Nathan Bolus off Lukman Vahaluwala for 12 (49 balls), 42-3.

Jaxon Cornford joined Wes Royle and they were moving the score along nicely when disaster struck the hosts with the loss of three wickets for three runs, Promod Maduwantha was the man doing the damage, he bowled Jaxon Cornford for 19 (63 balls)(1x4, 1x6), 92-4, in his next over he took two wickets in three balls, new batsman Jamie Rigby was bowled for 0 (1 ball), 94-5, two balls later Daniel Gray was lbw for 0 (2 balls), 94-6.

Muhammad Patel replaced Gray but was soon out bowled by Lukman Vahaluwala for 1 ( 9 balls), 95-7. Wes Rolye was watching the collapse at the other end and had a new partner in Jacob Holland, Rory Urquhart returned to the attack and bowled Jacob Holland for 4 (23 balls), 114-8.

Kashif Jamil came to the wicket but soon lost his partner Wes Royle caught by Rory Urquhart off Alex Urquhart for 42 (93 balls)(5x4), 122-9. Fraser Young came in at eleven, the Vernon Carus innings closed on 138 all out in 48 overs with Fraser Young stumped by Jevan Isidore off Alex Urquhart for 1 (11 balls) with Kashif Jamil 12no (10 balls).

The St Annes bowling was Lukman Vahaluwala 3-26 from 15 overs, Promod Maduwantha 3-26 off 15, Alex Urquhart 2-7 from 4, Rory Urquhart 2-50 off 9 and Tom Bradley 0-18 from 5.

St Annes got off to a poor start losing Nathan Armstrong caught by Ian Dunn off Matthew Timms for 0 (17 balls), 9-1. number three Nathan Bolus joined Lukman Vahaluwala and they took the score to 51 when Matthew Timms claimed his second wicket Nathan Bolus caught by Jaxon Cornford for 24 (27 balls)(6x4), 51-2.

Promod Maduwantha joined Vahaluwala and the score was 90 when both men were out, Promod Maduwantha was first to go lbw to Kashif Jamil for 21 (31 balls)(4x4), 90-3, Lukman Vahaluwala followed bowled by Jacob Holland for 33 (68 balls)(6x4), 90-4.

Jevan Isidore and Luke Jardine were the two new batsmen and they saw the visitors home on 141-4 in 32.1 overs with Jevan Isidore 40no (23 balls)(44, 3x6) and Luke Jardine 11no (27 balls).

For Vernon Carus Matthew Timms took 2-37 from 10 overs, Kashif Jamil 1-32 off 6, Jacob Holland 1-52 from 11, Ian Dunn 0-8 off 1.1 and Muhammad Patel 0-10 from 4.
