The ninth round of matches in the Northern Premier League 2024 season saw Chorley fail to capitalize on the Leaders not playing by losing to Longridge at home.
Leyland won at St Annes to go third, Settle won at Garstang and the battle of the new clubs saw a winning draw for Euxton.
The match between Fulwood & Broughton was abandoned after Blackpool were bowled out for 45.
DIVISION ONE:
Chorley v Longridge
Chorley won the toss at Windsor Park and invited the visitors to bat first, Joshua Mullin and Taariq Chiecktey gave them a good start, Joshua Mullin was first out caught by Kieran Yould off James Dunn for 25 (37 balls), 44-1.
Rhys Morgan was in at three but was run out by Ben Simpkins for 0 (16 balls), 54-2. Zac Christie joined Chiecktey and they were going well until Taariq Chiecktey was caught by Sam Steeple off Miller Childs for 65 (95 balls), 135-3.
New man in was Zach Proctor and as they moved into the last ten overs they were going for the runs and wickets fell, Miller Childs bowled Zac Christie for 50 (78 balls), 166-4, Zach Proctor followed lbw to Marques Ackerman for 8 (35 balls), 168-5.
Luke Platt and Alex Mason were the new pair at the wicket, they were both out with the total on 187, Sam Steeple bowled Alex Mason 187-6, Marques Ackerman bowled Luke Platt for 14 (18 balls), 187-7.
Henry Proctor was bowled by Marques Ackerman for 1 (2 balls), 190-8, Jake Durnell 2no (2 balls) and Jonathan Millward 1no (1 ball) saw the visitors close on 191-8 in their 50 overs.
For Chorley Marques Ackerman took 3-42 from 12 overs, Miller Childs 2-17 off 7, James Dunn 1-33 from 7, Sam Steeple 1-43 off 11, Matt Dawson 0-18 from 4 and Will Moulton 0-20 off 9
The Chorley openers were Will Moulton and Miller Childs, their partnership was broken by Zach Proctor having Miller Childs caught by Alex Mason for 15 (26 balls), 29-1.
Number three was Sunny John who was quickly out caught by Luke Platt off Jacob Proctor for 1 (6 balls), 38-2. Jacob Proctor then took the prize wicket of Marques Ackerman caught by Henry Proctor for 7 (10 balls), 48-3.
Zayn Wadiwala was the new batsman but lost his partner Will Moulton caught by Luke Platt off Alex Mason for 27 (47 balls), 54-4, Kieran Yould joined Wadiwala but before they get settled they were both out, Kieran Yould caught by Joshua Mullin off Alex Mason for 8 (13 balls), 76-5. Two runs later Wadiwala was bowled by Jake durnell for 15 (19 balls), 80-6.
The home side were in further trouble with the loss of Ben Simpkins caught by Luke Platt off Alex Mason for 4 (7 balls), 80-7. Joseph Tiffim and James Dunn began the fight back, Jake Durnell broke their partnership having James Dunn caught by Rhys Morgan for 12 (36 balls), 119-8.
Sam Steeple joined Tiffin and continued the fight, but the return of Jacob Proctor to the attack had an immediate effect with Joseph Tiffin caught by Zach Proctor for 36 (57 balls), 145-9.
Matt Dawson was in at eleven but was bowled by Jake Durnell for 3 (3 balls) giving victory to the vistitors as Chorley were bowled in for 148 in 42.1 overs.
The wickets were shared amongst the Longridge bowlers, Jacob Proctor 3-29 from 8 overs, Jake Durnell 3-32 off 11.1, Alex Mason 3-46 from 15, Zack Proctor 1-19 off 4 and Jonathan Millward 0-9 from 4.
Euxton v Mawdesley
Mawdesley won the toss at Balshaw Park and put the hosts into bat and claimed two early wickets. Joshua Adamson doing the damage, he bowled Max Harper for 2 (9 balls), 6-1, then he also bowled Joseph Barker for 5 (10 balls), 11-2.
James Bone and Aneeq Hassan set about rebuilding the innings and were going well until Dominic Hendricks bowled both men, James Bone for 27 (42 balls), 46-3. next Aneeq Hassan for 9 (53 balls), 47-4.
Zane Gilder and Daniel Barber knuckled down and took the hosts to a better position, Daniel Unsworth broke the partnership Daniel Barber caught behind by Ffyfe Dennis for 23 (66 balls). 130-5.
Disaster struck for the hosts as they lost four wickets for only two runs, Zane Gilder was the first to go caught and bowled by Lee Berrie for 67 (82 balls), 142-6. Daniel Unsworth bowled Chris Pearson for 7 (14 balls), 144-7, new batsman Dave McCabe was caught by Nathan Trengrove off Lee Berrie first ball for 0, 144-8, Berrie then had Danny Curtis lbw for 0 (4 balls), 144-9.
The Euxton innings closed on 151 all out in 49.2 overs with Joseph Bowden caught and bowled by Daniel Unsworth for 1 (7 balls) leaving Louis Sweeney 6no (10 balls).
The Mawdesley bowling was Daniel Unsworth 3-6 from 4.2 overs, Lee Berrie 3-33 off 7, Joshua Adamson 2-31 from 10, Dominic Hendricks 2-38 off 8 and Neil O'Malley 0-23 from 15.
Daniel Unsworth and Ffyfe Dennis opened and took the score into the thirties when both were out, Ffyfe Dennis was first to go bowled by James Bone for 21 (52 balls), 34-1, Unsworth followed lbw to Zane Gilder for 9 (64 balls), 39-2.
Dominic Hendricks and Jon Stone were the new batsmen and moved the total past fifty, James Bone broke the partnership having Jon Stone caught by Joseph Barker for 5 (11 balls), 52-3.
Lee Berrie joined Hendricks and were going well until disaster struck the hosts losing three wickets on 98, Lee Berrie went first stumped by Danny Curtis off Louis Sweeney for 33 (43 balls), 98-4, Dominic Hendricks fell lbw to James Bone for 19 (53 balls), 98-5. New man in Nathan Trengrove was run out by Daniel Barber for 0 (6 balls). 98-6
The visitors were in trouble with only taill eft and ten overs to go, James Bone claimed his fourth wicket Lewis McKinnon caught by Aneeq Hassan for 0 (7 balls), 102-7. Joshua Adamson joined Ben Munslow and they slowly moved the score along until Adamson was run out by Max Harper for 9 (14 balls), 119-8.
Louis Rothwell was next in but was trapped lbw by Aneeq Hassan for 1 (7 balls), 120-9. Number eleven Neil O'Malley 0no (10 balls) and Ben Munslow 10no (36 balls) saw out the remaining three overs as Mawdesley closed on 122-9 in their 50 overs.

Fulwood & Brougton v Blackpool
Blackpool won the toss at the Highfield ground and elected to bat first, Khalil Patel made the breakthrough with early wickets, he had Rishit Sharma was caught by M Smith for 2 (3 balls), 4-1, followed by Shivam Chaudhary caught by Muhammad Zaid for 3 (22 balls), 8-2.
Things did not improve for the visitors Khalil Patel claimed his third wicket Andrew Needham caught by Ben Parkinson for 0 (1 ball), 8-3, Dylan Henshall was next bowled by Simon Kerrigan for 2 (12 balls), 13-4. New man Ben Howarth became wicket number four for Khalil Patel caught by Lewis Wellings for 1 (18 balls), 14-5.
Kasim Munir's long and fighting innings came to an end caught by Dom Jackson off Simin Kerrigan for 15 (71 balls), 25-6. Dom Jackson bowled new man Tom Myerscough for 1 (15 balls), 30-7.
Myerscough's replacement Ali Munir soon followed caught by Lewis Wellings for 0 (15 balls), 35-9. without further addition to the score Arran Lewin's battle ended when he was caught by Khalil Patel off Dom Jackson for 9 (42 balls).
Matthew Grindley was the last man out lbw to Simon Kerrigan for 9 (10 balls) as Blackpool were bowled out for 45 in 36.5 overs with Paul Danson 1no (12 balls).
Khalil Patel 4-7 in 9 overs and Simon Kerrigan 4-14 from 13.5 were the destroyers in chief with Dom Jackson 2-17 off 9 and Jon Fenton 0-6 off 5.
The umpires decided that the pitch was dangerous and so the match was abandoned.
Garstang v Settle
Settle won the toss at the Riverside Sports ground and chose to bat first and made 156 all out in 49.2 overs, Amar Ullah top scored with 63 (117 balls) supported by Lewis Smith 41 (95 balls) and Tom Davidson 15 (19 balls).
Gregour Carr 4-29 from 7.2 overs and Ian Walling 4-37 off 15 doing the damage with Charlie Parkinson taking 1-25 from 10, Danny Gilbert 1-25 off 11 and Tom Higson 0-28 from 6.
In reply Garstang were bowled out for 117 in 44.1 overs, Imran Butt was their highest scorer with 23 (58 balls), other batsmen to reach double figures were Tom Higson 20 (9 balls), Hugo Croft 18 (49 balls), Charlie Parkinson 18 (37 balls) and Danny Gilbert 11 (6 balls).
Tom Davidson lead the way with 5-30 from 14 overs, supported by Amar Ullah 4-20 off 14.1, Ashen Silva 1-33 from 8, William Davidson 0-11 off 7 and Lloyd Smith 0-16 from 1.
St Annes v Leyland
Leyland won the toss at Vernon Road and decided to bat first, Karl Cross and James Critchley opened with a magnificent partnership of 215 broken by Nathan Bolus having Karl Cross caught by Tom Bradley for 112 (114 balls)(12x4).
Zak Willox was in next and continued the run fest, he lost his partner James Critchley run out by Nathan Bolus for 96 (139 balls), 220-2, Kurtis Watson replaced Critchley, the partnership was 102 when Zak Willox was caught by Tom Bradley off Nathan Bolus for 45 (21 balls)(3x4 4x6), 322-3.
New man Ross Bretherton 2no (6 balls) and Kutis Watson 64no (4x4. 6x6) saw the visitors close on 332 for 3 in their 50 overs.
The St Annes bowling was Nathan Bolus 2-53 from 4, Ryan Birkman 0-21 off 2 overs, Benjamin Fitzjohn 0-33 from 5, Yohan De Silva 0-49 off 10, Keith Reid 0-64 from 15 and Tom Bradley 0-102 off 14
Chasing the ammoth total St Annes did not get off to a good start losing both openers early, Yohan De Silva was caught behind by Adam Sexton off Ross Bretherton for 6 (6 balls), 6-1, Luke Jardine soon followed caught behind by Adam Sexton off Kurtis Watson for 2 (6 balls), 8-2.
Nathan Bolus and Nathan Armstrong were given the task of rebuilding the innings, Ross Bretherton broke the partnership having Nathan Bolus caught by Kurtis Watson for 3 (12 balls). 26-3.
Disaster struck for the home side with the loss of 4 wickets for 2 runs, Kurtis Watson was the one to do the damage, He had Will Trohear caught behind by Adam Sexton for 0 (17 balls), 41-4, three balls later he had Ryan Birkman caught by Iain Critchley for 0 (3 balls), 41-5.
New batsman Tom Bradley fell lbw to Ross Bretherton for 0 (3 balls), 42-6, Nathan Armstong's battle ended caught by Ross Bretherton off Kurtis Watson for 31 (30 balls), 42-7.
James Bradley and Keith Reid dug in and tried to keep the game alive, Ross Bretherton made the breakthrough trapping Keith Reid lbw for 7 (31 balls), 61-8, he took his fifth wicket bowling Benjamin Fitzjohn for 2 (5 balls), 67-9
The St Annes innings came to a close without further addition, 67 all out in 25.1 overs with James Bradley falling caught by Andrew Jacques off Iain Critchley for 16 (35 balls) with Martyn Burnett 0no (3 balls).
The Leyland opening pair destroyed the St Annes innings, Ross Bretherton 5-32 from 13 overs, Kurtis Watson 4-27 off 10 and Iain Critchley 1-8 from 2.1.
