This is the last round of matches in the Northern Premier League 2024 season and saw Champions Fleetwood finish with a win at Leyland.
The Longridge win over Euxton and the abandonment of the Netherfield game against local rivals Kendal saw Longridge move into second place.
There were also wins for Blackpool, Fulwood & Broughtom and St Annes.
DIVISION ONE:
Blackpool v Garstang
Blackpool won the toss at Stanley Park and invited the visitors to bat first, Matthew Grindley took two early wickets, Tom Higson was first out caught by Stuart Ashford for 2 (4 balls), 2-1, fellow opener Ashton Charles followed caught by Dyan Henshall for 5 (13 balls), 18-2.
The two new batsmen were Jack Edgar and Joseph Pearson and with Edgar leading the way were going well until Dylan Henshall struck with two wickets in an over, he had Joseph Pearson caught by Stuart Ashford for 17 (41 balls), 89-3, five balls later Mark Walling was caught behind by Ben Howarth for 0 (5 balls), 89-4.
Adam Ball joined Edgar but with the score on 100 Ball was bowled by Dylan Henshall for 1 (5 balls), 100-5, Dan Curwen came to the wicket but was quickly out bowled by Josh Boyne for 1 (2 balls), 101-6.
Danny Gilbert replaced Curwen but was next out caught by Josh Boyne off Cameron Brookes for 2 (12 balls), 113-7.
Ernie Collinson was Jack Edgar's new partner. Cameron Brookes brought the Garstang innings to a close with two wickets in an over, Jack Edgar's fighting innings came to an end caught by Matthew Grindley for 72 (88 balls), 120-8. New man Joe Barlow was caught by Paul Danson for 0 (2 balls) as the vistitors closed on 120-9 in 28.4 overs having only ten batsmen. Ernie Collinson was 0no (4 balls).
The Blackpool bowling was Cameron Brookes 3-0 from 1.4 overs, Dylan Henshall 3-18 off 5, Matthew Grindley 2-21 from 8 Josh Boyne 1-28 off 7, Stuart Ashford 0-11 from 2 and Jamie Thomson 0-28 off 5.
The host's innings mirrored that of the visitors, Danny Gilbert had Jamie Thomson caught by Joseph Pearson for 0 (3 balls), 0-1, He then accounted for Ben Howarth caught by Adam Ball for 11 (8 balls), 17-2.
Andrew Needham and Paul Danson had the task of rebuilding the innings, they had made some progress when Paul Danson was out caught behind by Dan Curwen off Joe Barlow for 4 (8 balls), 36-3.
Josh Boyne joined Needham but soon lost his partner to Danny Gilbert caught behind by Dan Curwen for 15 (16 balls), 44-4, Stuart Ashford was next in but with only nine runs added Josh Boyne was caught behind by Dan Curwen off Joe Barlow for 14 (13 balls), 53-5.
Blackpool were in trouble and things did not improve with incoming batsman Daniel Dixon bowled by Joe Barlow for 4 (3 balls), 57-6. Matthew Grindley joined Stuart Ashford, Tom Higson was introduced into the attack and with his third ball had Stuart Ashford caught by Ernie Collinson for 6 (11 balls), 76-7.
Dylan Henshall was the new man in and with Matthew Grindley took the score to 102 whan Dylan Henshall was bowled by Tom Higson for 18 (18 balls), 102-8.
Jake Muncaster came in at number ten and with Matthew Grindley leading the way saw Blackpool to victory reaching 122-8 in 18.1 overs with Matthew Grindley 31no (28 balls) and Jake Muncaster 9no (5 balls).
For the visitors Danny Gilbert took 3-21 from 4 over, Joe Barlow 3-43 off 5, Tom Higson 2-24 from 5.1 and Ernie Collinson 0-28 off 4.
Leyland v Fleetwood
Champions Fleetwood won the toss and put the hosts into bat, The innings was moving along nicely then catastrophe three wickets fell on the same score. Karl Cross was the first to go caught behind by Harry McAleer off Will Reader for 6 (17 balls), 39-1.
Matthew Siddall then bowled fellow opener James Critchley for 29 (18 balls) (6x4), 39-2. Luke Hands and Kurtis Watson were the new btsmen. Will Reader struck having Luke Hands caught behind by Harry McAleer for 0 (14 balls), 39-3.
Ross Bretherton joined Kurtis Watson but with only fourteen runs added Ross Bretherton became wicket number three for Will Reader caught by Matthew Siddall for 9 (19 balls), 49-4.
Andrew Makinson replaced Bretherton and with Watson were making steady progress until Dan Salpietro trapped Kurtis Watson lbw for 17 (43 balls), 75-5. Jacob Wright was next in but retired hurt after only three balls on 0no.
James Rounding became Andrew Makinson's new partner but was soon out caught by Charlie Clark off Matthew Siddall for 7 (19 balls), 91-6. This brought Iain Critchley to the wicket and he dug in, he became victim number three for Siddall caught by Declan Clerkin for 0 (19 balls), 103-7.
Number ten was Adam Sexton and with Andrew Makinson began to build up the score, Jeremy Davies broke the partnership bowling Andrew Makinson for 55 (96 balls), 142-8. That was the last success for the visitors as Adam Sexton 22no (48 balls) and Andrew Jacques 9no (8 balls) saw the hosts close on 161-8 in their 50 overs.
The bowling figures for the visitors were Will Reader 3-23 from 8 overs, Matthew Siddall 3-31 off 15, Jeremy Davies 1-26 from 8, Dan Salpietro 1-48 off 14 and Declan Clerkin 0-31 from 5.
In reply the visitors lost two early wickets, Tomas King was bowled by Ross Bretherton for 16 (14 balls), 22-1, Number three Harry McAleer followed soon after bowled by Kurtis Watson for 5 (5 balls), 27-2.
Next in was Dan Salpietro who soon became wicket number two for Ross Bretherton bowled for 4 (10 balls), 37-3. Charlie Clark joined Andy Drake and they kept the scoreboard ticking over, the score was approaching the hundred when both were out to Luke Hands, Andy Drake was caught behind by Adam Sexton for 55 (83 balls), 95-4, four runs later Charlie Clark was caught by James Critchley for 12 (36 balls), 99-5.
Jeremy Davies and Declan Clerkin were the batsmen with the task of keeping the ship afloat, this they did with Declan Clerkin scoring 32 of the last 33 runs as they claimed victory on 163-5 in 37.3 overs. Declan Clerkin was 48no (38 balls) and Jeremy Davies 18no (41 balls).
For Leyland Luke Hands took 2-29 from 6 overs, Ross Bretherton 2-33 off 10, Kurtis Watson 1-53 from 10, Iain Critchley 0-22 off 1.3 and Andrew Jacques 0-25 from 10.
Longridge v Euxton
Longridge won the toss at the Newsham Memorial ground and elected to bat first, Joshua Mullin and Taariq Chiecktey opened but Chiecktey was soon out caught by Louis Sweeney off Jack Shovelton for 10 (8 balls), 12-1.
Luke Platt joined Mullin and they took control with a partnership of 108 broken when Jack Morgan caught Luke Platt off James Bone for 44 (60 balls), 120-2. Zac Christie replaced Platt and continued the momentum, James Bone once again made the breakthrough bowling Joshua Mullin for 77 (132 balls), 185-3.
Rob Hollinghurst was next in but after the partnership had taken the score past the two hundred mark Zac Christie was stumped by Jack Morgan off Aneeq Hassan for 52 (57 balls), 205-4. New man in Zach Proctor was soon out caught and bowled by James Bone for 5 (3 balls), 212-5.
The new bartsman was Alex Mason and with Hollinghurst were keeping the score moving along until Rob Hollinghurst was caught by Joseph Bowden off Louis Sweeney for 26 (22 balls), 248-6.
That was the last success for the visitors as Longridge closed on 266-6 in their 50 overs with Alex Mason 14no (15 balls) and Tom Howarth 7no (5 balls).
For Euxton James Bone took 3-43 from 15 overs, Louis Sweeney 1-20 off 2, Jack Shovelton 1-30 from 6, Aneeq Hassan 1-51 off 10, Ben Houghton 0-16 from 3, Joseph Barker 0-26 off 3 and Joseph Bowden 0-53 from 11.
The visitors reply did not get off to a good start, Tom Howarth taking two wickets, he bowled Aneeq Hassan for 5 (12 balls), 9-1 and then bowled number three Jack Morgan for 0 (9 balls), 12-2.
James Bone joined Zane Nirodi but qucikly became victim number three for Tom Howarth bowled for 0 (6 balls) 18-3. Ben Houghton came in next but the introduction of Jake Durnell into the attack had instant success with him bowling Ben Houghton for 10 (16 balls), 33-4.
Jack Shovelton replaced Houghton and became wicket number two for Jake Durnell caught by Zac Christie for 0 (4 balls), 37-5. Will Joy was the new batsman but two runs later he was bowled by Gabriel Dowthwaite for 0 (10 balls), 39-6.
Joseph Barker was Zane Nirodi's new partner and they began to rebuild the innings, Zach Proctor was brought into the attack and in his first over took the vital wicket of Zane Nirodi bowled for 42 (97 balls), 79-7.
Next in was Louis Sweeney and with Joseph Barker took the score past the hundred only for both to fall on the same score, Joseph Barker was the first to go caught behind by Taariq Chiecktey off Gabriel Dowthwaite for 27 (53 balls), 110-8, Louis Sweeney followed caught by Gabriel Dowthwaite off Alex Mason for 13 (29 balls), 110-9.
Oliver Langan was in at eleven and decided to go down fighting, he was last out bowled by Jacob Proctor for 37 (20 balls)(3x4, 4x6) as Euxton were bowled out for 148 in 45.2 overs with Joseph Bowden 0no (17 balls).
Each of the Longridge bowlers took a wicket, Tom Howarth took 3-1-from 7 overs, Gabriel Dowthwaite 2-19 from 9, Jake Durnell 2-23 off 10, Zach Proctor 1-15 from 2, Jacob Proctor 1-28 off 7.2 and Alex Mason 1-53 from 10.
Mawdesley v St Annes
Mawdesley won the toss at Rectory Field and chose to bat first with disastrous consequences losing five early wickets, Noah Taylor-Hughes was the first out caught by Nathan Bolus off Mitch Bolus for 0 (11 balls), 6-1, next to go was fellow opner Neil O'Malley caught by Joe Hayton off Lukman Vahaluwala for 6 (14 balls), 6-2.
Number three Chris Armstrong went one run later caught by Nathan Bolus off Ryan Birkman for 0 (5 balls), 7-3, new man Daniel Unsworth became wicket number two for Ryan Birkman caught behind by Tom Bradley for 1 (5 balls), 7-3.
Fyffe Dennis and Lee Berrie were the new batsmen but once again Ryan Birkman claimed a wicket Lee Berrie caught behind by Tom Bradley for 0 ( 8 balls), 16-5.
Nathan Trengove joined Dennis and they slowly began to rebuild the innings, their partnership was broken with James Sargeant taking two wickets in two balls, Nathan Trengove was caught by Nathan Armstrong for 7 (24 balls), 48-6, next ball new man Toby Ambrose was out lbw for 0 (1 ball), 48-7.
Jon Stone was Fyfe Dennis's new partner and they continued to make progress until Jon Stone was caught by Yohan De Silva off James Bradley for 33 (33 balls), 86-8.
Joshua Unsworth was in at ten and with Dennis took the score past the hundred, disaster struck for the hosts with Fyffe Dennis run out by Nathan Bolus for 39 (71 balls), 104-9.
The Mawdesley innings closed on 105 all out in 31.4 overs with Joshua Unsworth stumped by Tom Bradley off Yohan De Silva for 8 (14 balls) with Louis Royal 0no (7 balls).
The St Annes bowlers were Ryan Birkman 3-2 from 3 overs, James Sargeant 2-28 off 8, Mitch Bolus 1-0 from 2, Lukan Vahaluwala 1-7 off 4, Yohan De Silva 1-10 from 1.4, James Bradley 1-13 off 3, Joe Hayton 0-10 from 4, Tom Bradley 0-11 off 1 and Luke Jardine 0-22 from 5.
In reply St Annes lost Yohan De Silva caught by Chris Armstrong off Joshua Unsworth for 7 (19 balls), 17-1, Luke Jardine was in next but lost partner Nathan Armstrong bowled by Joshua Unsworth for 13 (16 balls), 28-2.
Joe Hayton joined Jardine and they were making steady progress until Joshua Unsworth claimed wicket number three Luke Jardine caught by Noah Taylor-Hughes for 11 (17 balls), 47-3.
James Bradley was the new batsman but with only seventeen runs added Joshua Unsworth took his fourth and fifth wickets, number four was Joe Hayton bowled for 21 (24 balls), 64-4, next ball he trapped Ryan Birkman lbw for 0 (1 ball), 64-5.
Nathan Bolus replaced Birkman and they were made to work for their runs, it was once again Joshua Unsworth who made the breakthrough having James Bradley caught behind by Fyffe Dennis for 5 (35 balls), 77-6.
Mitch Bolus was next in but quicky became wicket number seven for Joshua Unsworth bowled for 1 (5 balls), 85-7. Tom Bradley was Nathan Bolus's new partner and were in sight of victory when Nathan Bolus was caught by Lee Berrie off Joshua Unsworth for 22 (26 balls), 104-8.
Lukman Vahaluwala came in and St Annes claimed victory on 109-8 in 25.3 overs with Tom Bradley 10no (12 balls) and Lukman Vahaluwala 0no (3 balls).
Joshua Unsworth's remakable figures were 8-46 from 13 overs, Neil O'Malley took 0-8 off 1, Louis Royal 0-17 from 4 and Daniel Unsworth 0-28 off 5.3.

Fulwood & Broughton won the toss at Marshfield and decided to bat first, they got off to a good start the opening partnership being 57 broken when Matt Smith was out lbw to Amar Ullah for 43 (46 balls), 57-1.
Brendan Morris was the visitors number three and with Ewen Mansford took the score past the hundred, Ashen Silva was the man to break the partnership having Brendan Morris caught by Lewis Smith for 22 (32 balls). 108-2
Ben Rosbottom joined Mansford but with the score on 200 he was caught behind by Benjamin Hulse for 61 (67 balls), 200-3. James McWilliam was in next but with only 5 overs remaining Ewen Mansford was out caught by Ashen Silva off Amar Ullah for 63 (123 balls), 210-4
The visitors were going for the runs but lost wickets in the process, new man Muhammad Zaid was caught by William Davidson off Lewis Smith for 3 (5 balls), 215-5, James McWilliam followed stumped by Benjamin Hulse off Amar Ullah for 11 (7 balls), 215-6.
Lewis Wellings 14no (16 balls) and Khalil Patel 5no (6 balls) saw the visitors close on 237-6 on their 50 overs.
Amar Ullah took 3-83 from 15 overs, Lewis Smith 2-33 off 8, Ashen Silva 1-30 from 8, Lloyd Smith 0-23 off 5, Archie Phillipson 0-27 from 5 and William Davidson 0-33 off 9.
The hosts reply did not get off to the best of starts losing Archie Phillipson caught by Ewen Mansford off Khalil Patel for 0 (6 balls), 2-1. Number three Ashen Silva did not fare much better caught by Khalil Patel off Chris Brookes for 5 (9 balls), 17-2.
Amar Ullah joined Lewis Smith and they were making steady progress until Amar Ullah was caught by Brendan Morris off Dom Jackson for 11 (43 balls), 51-3. William Davidson was next in but was soon out caught behind by James McWilliam off Ewen Mansford for 11 (6 balls), 64-4.
John Davidson replaced William Davidson and with Wellings took the score to one hundred, Dom Jackson claimed his second wicket John Davidson caught by Matt Smith for 15 (37 balls), 100-5.
New man in was Paul Clarke who became another victim of Dom Jackson caught behind by James McWilliam for 7 (17 balls), 118-6. Lewis Wellings took the vital wicket of Lewis Smith and then cleaned up the tail, he bowled Lewis Smith for 62 (94 balls), 122-7, incoming batsman Ben Mitchell was bowled for 0 (3 balls), 126-8 two runs later Benjamin Hulse was caught behind by James McWilliam for 1 (7 balls), 128-9, Lloyd Smith retired out and so Settle were all out for 128, in 39.2 overs with Andrew Fry 5no (13 balls.)
The Fulwood & Broughton bowling was Lewis Wellings 3-16 from 5.2 overs, Dom Jackson 3-43 off 11, Ewen Mansford 1-14 from 5, Khalil Patel 1-18 off 9 Chris Brookes 1-27 from 8 and Bredan Morris 0-2-off 1.
