Round 13 of the Northern Premier League saw St Annes defeat Eccleston (Chorley) in the only game to be completed all the others were abandoned
Blackpool v Longridge
On a wet and windy day at Stanley Park Blackpool won the toss and invited the visitors to bat first, Joshua Mullin and Tom Howarth opened but were soon parted, Tom Howarth bowled by William Vause for (3 balls), 5-1.
Matthew De Villiers was the visitors number three and with Mullin steadily moved the score along until Joshua Mullin was caught behind by Ben Howarth off Jamie Thomson for 14 (24 balls), 30-2, James Whitehead was the new man in but quickly lost his partner Matthew De Villiers caught behind by Ben Howarth off William Vause fro 14 (23 balls), 32-3
Luke Platt joined Whitehead but with only eight runs added both men were out, Luke Platt was caught by Shivam Chaudhary off Jamie Thomson for 3 (15 balls), 40-4, Jame Whitehead followed caught by Shivam Chaudhary off Izatullah Stankkzai for 6 (20 balls), 40-5.
Caleb Bradford and Tom Turner were the new batsmen and had to work for their runs, Jamie Thomson claimed his third wicket bowling Tom Turner for 4 (13 balls), 45-6. Zach Proctor was in next and battled with Caleb Bradford, he was next out caught by Josh Boyne off Shivam Chaudhary for 7 (33 balls), 54-7.
Jonathan Millward came in next but with only one further run on the board Caleb Bradford was caught behind by Ben Howarth off Shivam Chaudhary for 4 (40 balls), 55-8. Jake Durnell 13no (15 balls) joined Jonathan Millward 15no (32 balls) but their partneship was curtailed by the rain as the innings closed on 83-8 in 36 overs
The Blackpool bowling was Jamie Thomson 3-20 from 9 overs, Shivam Chaudhary 2-21 off 9, William Vause 2-23 from 6, Izatullah Stankzai 1-1 off 2 and Josh Boyne 0-17 from 10
The second innings was delayed and Blackpool were set a revised total of 61 but after only 2.1 overs with the score 11-0 the game was abandoned with Tomas King 4no (5 balls) and Kasim Muir 1no (8 balls)
For the visitors Jonathan Millward bowled 1.1 overs for 4 and Matt Greenall 1 over for 1
Chorley v Netherfield
Netherfield won the toss at Windsor Park and asked the hosts to bat first, only 3.1 overs were bowled before the match was abandoned with Chorley 8-1, Alfie Dobson the man out caught by Sagar Udeshi off Samuel Medhurst for 0 (7 balls). Will Moulton was 8no (12 balls), 8-1
The Netherfield bowlers were Samuel Medhurst 1.1 overs 0-1, Sagar Udeshi 2 overs 8-0
Garstang v Fleetwood
Fleetwood won the toss at the Riverside Sports ground and put the hosts into bat, Michael Walling and Luke Smith opened and were going well until Tiaan Van Vuuren bowled Luke Smith for 18 (23 balls), 33-1, Van Vuuren quickly accounted for number three Matthew Crowther bowling him for 0 (2 balls), 33-2
Mark Walling was the new batsman and with Michael Walling got things back on course, Declan Clerkin broke the partnership having Mark Walling caught behind by Harry McAleer for 13 (39 balls), 78-3, Ryan Pearson was the new barsman but lost Michael Walling to the McAleer/ Clerkin combination, stumped Harry McAleer bowled Declan Clerkin for 43 (59 balls), 83-4.
Hugo Croft joined Ryan Pearson and all was going well until two wickets were lost on the same score, Jack Wilkinson had Ryan Pearson caught by Tiaan Van Vuuren for 22 (29 balls), 118-5. in the next over Hugo Croft was caught by Nathan Bend off Tiaan Van Vuuren for 17 (34 balls), 118-6
Ian Walling replaced Croft but with only one run added he was out caught by Adam Sharrocks off Tiaan Van Vuuren for 0 (9 balls), 119-7. Tiaan Van Vuuren claimed his fifth wicket Adam Ball caught by Nathan Bend for 10 (18 balls), 136-8
Jack Wilkinson wrapped up the Garstang tail bowling Danny Gilbert for 10 (18 balls), 139-8, he then caught and bowled Caleb Bradford for 0 (10 balls), Garstang were139 all out in 39.5 overs with Waris Khan 1no (3 balls)
Tiaan Van Vuuren took 5-32 from 13 overs supported by Jack Wilkinson 3-16 off 5.5, Declan Clerkin 2-51 from 14 and Jeremy Davies 0-34 off 7
Andy Drake and Nathan Bend opened for the visitors, their partnership was borken when Andy Drake was out lbw to Jake Derham for 14 (24 balls), 38-1, Jeremy Davies 15no (39 balls) joined Nathan Bend 32no (46 balls) but the rains came and the match was abandoned with Fleetwood 68-1 in 18.1 overs
The Garstang bowling was Jake Durnall 1-15 from 6 overs, Waris Khan 0-13 off 2, Ian Walling 0-14 from 4 and Danny Gilbert 0-22 off 6.1
Kendal v Leyland
Kendal won the toss at Shap Road and invited the visitors to bat first, Jacob Wright and James Rounding opened, Jacob Wright was out caught behind by Finlay Richardson off Louis Backhouse for 1 (7 balls), 1-1.
Zak Willox was the Leyland number three and with Rounding took the score to 46 when James Rounding was out lbw to Matthew Park for 28 (36 balls), 46-2. Karl Cross 6 no (18 balls) joined Zak Willox 18no (64 balls) but with the score on 55-2 in 20.5 overs the rains came and thw match was abandoned
For Kendal Matthew Park took 1-5 from 5.5 overs, Louis Backhouse 1-24 off 5, Freddie Fallows 0-0 from 1, Max Winskill 0-11 off 4 and Kuldeep Singh 0-14 from 5
Penrith v Fulwood & Broughton
Fulwood and Broughton won the toss at Tynefield Park and asked the hosts to bat first, the opening partnership of Greg Cameron and Owen Jones was broken by Khalil Patel having Greg Cameron caught by Lewis Wellings for 19 (13 balls), 31-1
Disaster struck for the hosts losing four wickets for one run, Owen Jones was the first to go caught behind by James McWilliam off Jon Fenton for 12 (10 balls), 35-2, one run later Harsha Vithana was run out by Jon Fenton for 5 (10 balls), 36-3, Jon Fenton then had new batsman James Bowman caught behind by James McWilliam for for 0, 36-4.
Khalil Patel bowled Alister Craig for 0 (2 balls) 36-5. Sulosan Thiru and James Ellis looked the rebuild the innings but Thiru was trapped lbw by Simon Kerrigan for 2 (10 balls), 41-6, James Ellis fell the same way lbw to Hareen Buddila for 2 (24 balls), 41-7
Things did not improve for the hosts Dyan Simpson was caught by Ben Parkinson off Hareen Buddila for 0 (13 balls), 42-8. Nine runs later Penrith lost their last two wickets, Finn Harrison was out lbw to Simon Kerrigan for 3 (22 balls), 51-9 followed by Finlay Hansford caught by Lewis Wellings off Hareen Budilla for 7 (26 balls), Penrith were 51 all out in 22.2 overs with Nathan Ellwood 0 no
The wickets were shared around the visitors bowlers with Harren Buddilla leading the way with 3-6 from 6.2 overs with Simon Kerrigan 2-5 off 6, Khalil Patel 2-18 from 5 and Jon Fenton 2-22 off 5
The rains came and the match was abandoned
St Annes v Eccleston (Chorley)
St Annes won the toss at Vernon Road and put the visitors into bat, They got off to a disastrous start thanks to Lukman Vahaluwala who removed the top three very quickly, Michael Atkinson was first out caught by Nathan Bolus for 1 (7 balls), 3-1, one run later he bowled Adam Norris for 2 (7 balls), 4-2, Thomas Foster became his third victim bowled for 1 (11 balls). 5-3
Martyn James Brierley and Matthew Ashcroft were the new batsmen and they dug in and fought to rebuild the innings, they took the score past the fifty, Thomas Bradley broke the partnership having Martyn James Brierley caught by Nathan Bolus for 24 (59 balls), 57-4. Reece Thomas was the new man in but soon became Vahaluwala's fourth wicket bowled for 1 (3 balls), 58-5
Things did not improve for the visitors with new batsman Tom Potter caught by Nathan Armstrong off Thomas Bradley for 0 (5 balls), 59-6, Thomas Wilkinson replaced Potter but with only eleven runs added Thomas Bradley struck accounting for the battling Mattew Ashcroft caught by Luke Jardine for 27 (85 balls), 70-7
Alex Brooks joined Thomas Wilkinson, LukmanVahaluwala cliamed his fifth wicket Thomas Wilkinson caught by Nathan Bolus for 2 (14 balls), 74-8, in at number ten was Iain Bradley who was the next man out caught by Nathan Bolus off Tom Higson for 12 (17 balls), 92-9
The innings was brought to a close on 95 all out in 38.5 overs when Jack McKenna was trapped lbw by Yohan De Silva for 0 (5 balls) with Alex Brooks 6no (21 balls)
Lukman Vahaluwala took 5-8 from 9 overs, Thomas Bradley 3-2 off 6, Yohan De Silva 1-21 from 7.5, Tom Higson 1-22 off 6, Alec McGloughlin 0-5 from 3 and Mitch Bolus 0-11 off 7
In reply St Annes reached the new target of 74 in 13 overs, the only success for the visitors was Tom Higson run out by Reece Thomas for 10 (14 balls) 18-1. Yohan De Silva 39no (38 balls) and Nathan Bolus 23no (26 balls) saw the hosts home on 74-1
The Eccleston (Chorley) bowling was Michael Atkinson 0-22 from 5 overs, Reece Thomas 0-28 off 4, Thomas Foster 0-14 from 3 and Jack McKenna 0-10 off 1
