On a day when the rain effected all the 14th round of matches for the Northern Premier Cricket League.
Blackpool defeated leaders Garstang, There were also wins for Penrith and St Annes with Fulwood & Broughton having a winning draw against Vernon Carus
The matches between Kendal v Chorley and Netherfield v Leyland were abandoned
Fulwood & Broughton v Vernon Carus
Vernon Carus won the toss at the Highfield ground and invited the hosts to bat first in a reduced 84 over match, Matthew Smith and Ben Parkinson opened but with the score on 19 Ben Parkinson was caught by Jacob Holand off Max Liversey for 13 (18 balls) 19-1
Sonal Dinusha came in at three and with Smith took control but their partnership was broken by Ben Thomas having Matthew Smith caught by Christain Ash for 75 (65 balls) 152-2, Ben Rosbottom joined Dinusha but lost his partner caught by Ben Thomas off David Sullivan for 72 (75 balls) 187-2
The visitors had a small victory taking two wickets on 194, new batsman Muhammad Zaid was the first to go caught by Daniel Cairns off David Sullivan for 0 (3 balls) 194-4, Ben Rosbottom was next caught by Kasun Ekanayake Mudiyanselage off Ben Thomas for 28 (32 balls) 194-5
Zach Proctor and Lewis Wellings were the new batsmen and they continued the run fest, thier partnership of 60 was broken by Kasun Ekanayake Mudiyanselage bowling Proctor for 42 (20 balls)(3x4, 4x6) 254-6
There were only two overs remaining and the visitors had some success, Lewis Wellings was the next wicket to fall bowled by Jacob Holland for 17 (25 balls) 258-7, Dom Jackson soon followed bowled by Holland for 1 )2 balls) 260-8
Kasun Ekanayake Mudiyanselage bowled Jon Fenton for 4 (4 balls) leaving Chris Brookes 0no to play the last ball of the innings as the hosts closed on 265-9 with James McWilliam 5no (7 balls)
The Vernon Carus wicktet takers were Jacob Holland 2-32 from 6 overs, Ben Thomas 2-51 off 10, Kasun Ekanayake Mudiyanselage 2-68 from 13, David Sullivan 2-70 off 8 and Max Livesey 1-37 from 5
Christian Ash and Wes Royle got the visitors off to a brilliant start of 73 broken by Sonal Dinusha having Christian Ash caught behind by James McWilliam for 37 (44 balls) 73-1
Kasun Ekanayake Mudiyanselage was the new batsman but lost Royle bowled by Dinusha for 34 (53 balls) 84-2, In at no4 was Jack Airey but was quickly out caught behind by James McWilliam off Dom Jackson for 2 (5 balls) 87-3
Dom Jackson claimed his second victim new batsman Daniel Cairns caught by Matthew Smith for 1 (6 balls) 93-4, no6 was James Rigby who went on the attack hit a six but was bowled next ball by Sonal Dinusha for 6 (4 balls) 104-5
Kasun Ekanayake Mudiyanselage was joined by Ben Duerden and they had put on 39 runs when Kasun Ekanayake Mudiyanselage was caught by Sonal Dinusha off Lewis Wellings for 33 (42 runs) 143-6
Duerden's new partner was Jacob Holland they continued the chase but with the score on 186 Duerden was caught by Ben Parkinson off Sonal Dinusha for 34 (39 balls) 186-7, David Sullivan joined Holland but Jacob Holland went the way of James Rigby, hitting Soanl Dinusha for six but being bowled next ball for 32 (28 balls) 194-8
New batsman Ben Thomas was bowled by Lewis Wellings for 0 (3 balls) 195-9 with 4 overs remaining. David Sullivan 23no (14 balls) and Max Livesey 1no (14 balls) saw the visitors close on 218-9
Sonal Dinusha was the hosts best bowler with 5-38 from 13 overs, Dom Jackson 2-35 off 8 and Lewis Wellings 2-41 from 7
Garstang v Blackpool
The League leaders Garstang entertained Blackpool at the Riverside Sports ground in a reduced 60 over match, Blackpool won the toss and put the hosts into bat first.
Garstang made 150-7 in their 30 overs thanks to Ryan Pearson 40, Punit Bisht 31 and Matthew Crowhter 24, For Blackpool Jamie Thomsom took 4-32 from 5 0vers, Alex Ryder 1-17 off 5, Matthew Grindley 1-26 from 9 and Naushad Shafi Shaikh 1-19 off 6
In reply Blackpool knocked off the runs in 28.4 overs reaching 151-4, Tomas King top scored with 57, a partnership between Dylan Henshall 41no and Ben Howarth 15no saw the visitors home
Joel Anthony Derham took 3-38 from 9 overs with Rizwan Patel taking the other wicket for 27 off 4 overs
Kendal v Chorley
The match between Kendal and Chorley was abandoned without a ball being bowled
Lancaster v Penrith
Perith won the toss at Lune road and invited the hosts to bat first in a reduced 72 over match. Lancaster made 149-9 in their 36 overs. Danny Lamb made 49 supported by Laurie Atkinson 26 and Kieran Moffat 25
Greg Cameron did the damage for the visitors taking 6-41 from 11 overs, Mohit Kale took 2-41 off 11 and James Ellis 1-19 from 7
Penrith took 24.5 overs to reach 150-4 and secure victory lead by Asher Hart on 83no. There were contributions from James Bowman 31 and Mohit Kale 20
For Lancaster Ben Simm took 2-60 from 8 overs with Liam Moffat 1-23 off 8 and Jamie Heywood 1-24 from 4
Longridge v St Annes
St Annes batted first at the Newsham Memorial ground in a reduced 70 over match, Tom Higson and Yohan De Silva opened with a stand of 38, Tom Higson was bowled by Tom Howarth for 27 (20 balls) 38-1
Lukman Vahaluwala came in at three and the scoreboard was ticking along until Vahaluwala was caught by Zach Christie off Jake Durnell for 24 (22 balls), 69-2, Nathan Bolus joined De Silva and their partnership was 43 when Bolus was bowled by Ollie Mullin for 23 (32 balls) 112-3
The new batsman was Nathan Armstrong and he kept the momentem going until Yohan De Silva was caught by Zach Christie off Ollie Mullin for 44 (60 balls) 137-4, Nathan Bend replaced De Silva but on 23 (14 balls) he was stumped by Tom Turner off Caleb Bradford. 169-5
Alex Bradley was next in and with Armstrong moved the score to 192, Nathan Armstrong was caught by William Vause off Jake Durnell for 30 (35 balls) 192-6. Andy Drake was the new batsman
In the last of their allotted overs the visitors lost two more wickets, with three balls remaining Andy Drake was caught by Rhys Morgan off Jake Durnell for 8 (7 balls) 204-7, next ball Alex Bradley was caught by Luke Platt for 15 (19 balls) 204-8, Harry Birkman 1no (1 ball) scored a run off the last ball as St Annes closed on 205-8 in 35 overs with James Bradley 0no
Jake Durnell took 4-37 from 7 overs, Ollie Mullin 2-55 off 9, Tom Howarth 1-17 from 4 and Caleb Bradford 1-57 off 11
Luke Platt and Joshua Mullin opened for the hosts but both fell early to Lukman Vahaluwala, Luke Platt was the first to go caught behind by James Bradley for 2 (4 balls) 2-1, Mullin followed caught by Tom Higson for 5 (7 balls) 12-2
Tom Howarth and Zac Christie were the new batsmen, Christie lasted only five balls caught behind by James Bradley off Harry Birkman for 0 28-3, one run had been added then two wickets fell, James Whitehead had replaced Christie but fared no better trapped lbw to Lukman Vahaluwala for 0 (6 balls) 29-4, Tom Howarth was bowled by Harry Birkman for 18 (34 balls) 29-5
Tom Turner and William Vause looked to turn the innings around but Turner was bowled by Tom Higson for 7 (19 balls) 46-6, Rhys Morgan took on the fight but any chance of the hosts saving the game looked doomed with the fall of two wickets on 59, William Vause was lbw to Tom Higson for 13 (34 balls) 59-7, Lukman Vahaluwala claimed his fourth victim Rhys Morgan lbw for 2 (22 balls) 59-8
Ollie Mullim and Jake Durnell battled away but Harry Birkman broke the partnership having Mullin caught behind by James Bradley for 10 (27 balls) 73-9, Harry Birkman closed the Longridge innings on 73 all out in 30 overs by having Jake Durnell caught by Lukman Vahaluwala for 7 (23 balls), Caleb Bradford was 0no (6 balls)
The St Annes opening attack did the damage Lukman Vahaluwala too 4-16 from 11 overs with Harry Birkman 4-25 off 6 and Tom Higson taking 2-17 from 9
