It is the 13th round of matches for the Northern Premier Cricket League.
Leaders Garstang win and extend their lead at the top, There were also wins for Blackpool, Fulwood & Broughton, Kendal and Penrith with Leyland having a winning draw at Lancaster
Blackpool v Netherfield
Blackpool won the toss at Stanley Park and elected to bat first, Tomas King and Kasim Munir opened with a stand of 48, Munir was first out caught behind by Finlay Richardson off Samuel Medhurst for 7 (24 balls) 48-1
Joshua Boyne was in at three and with King put on 49 runs and unfortunately for the hosts both were out on the same score, first out was Joshua Boyne lbw to Daniel Bernet for 23 (33 balls) 97-2, King fell caught by Ben Barrow off Thomas Kaber for 59 (56 balls) (11x4) 97-3
Naushad Shafi Shaikh and Dylan Henshall were the two new batsmen, Henshall was bowled by Daniel Bernet for 0 (5 balls) 98-4, next in was Benjamin Heath but he was soon out caught by Oli Wileman off Thomas Kaber for 4 (21 balls) 109-5.
Alex Ryder replaced Heath but became Kaber's next victim caught and bowled for 0 (9 balls) 111-6, Matthew Grindley came in at eight but lost his partner Naushad Shafi Shaikh caught by Reece Irving off Oli Wileman for 16 (49 balls) 134-7
Paul Danson joined Grindley but with only 17 runs added Grindley was caught by Bradley Earl off Oli Wileman for 14 (52 balls) 151-8, Steven Mercer was next in but was soon out caught by Oli Wileman off Reece Irving for 4 (9balls) 156-9
The Blackpool innings came to an end on 166 all out in 49.2 overs with Paul Danson caught and bowled by Thomas Kaber for 13 (29 balls), Jamie Thomson was undefeated on 7 (11 balls)
The Netherfield wicket takers were Thomas Kaber 4-17 from 11.2 overs, Oli Wileman 2-17 off 5, Daniel Bernet 2-36 from 15, Reece Irving 1-13 off 5 and Samuel Medhurst 1-24 from 5
Ben Barrow and Reece Irving opened and gave he visitors a good start until Barrow was out lbw to Steven Mercer for 34 (62 balls) 50-1, Finlay Richardson joined Irving but fell caught by Matthew Grindley off Naushad Shafi Shaikh for 7 (12 balls) 65-2
In at four was Bradley Earl but lost his partner Reece Irving run out by Dylan Henshall for 24 (77 balls) 75-3, Earl on reaching 12 (26 balls) was caught by Alex Ryder off Steven Mercer, 82-4
Thomas Kaber and Isaac Medhurst were the new batsmen, they were going along nicely until the reintroduction of Matthew Grindley into the attack, with his fourth ball he trapped Isaac Medhurst lbw for 11 932 balls) 111-5
Oli Wileman was the new batsman but was soon out caught by Jamie Thomson off Matthew Grindley for 0 (6 balls) 117-6, Daniel Bernet joined Kaber but became Matthew Grindley's third victim caught by Steven Mercer for 6 (9 balls) 133-7
Louis Backhouse was Kaber's next partner, Matthew Grindley struck the vital blow for the hosts bowling Thomas Kaber for 41 (57 balls) 141-8, twenty six runs were rquired off three overs for the visitors or two wickets for the hosts
Joshua Boyne bowled Samuel Medhurst for 0 (1 ball) 146-9, eleven runs were required off the last over, disaster for the visitors as Louis Backhouse was run out by Steven Mercer for 14 (9 balls) as Netherfield were 156 all out in 49.2 overs, Matt Jackson was 2no (5 balls)
Matthew Grindley took 4-47 from 12 overs, Steven Mercer 2-28 off 13, Joshua Boyne 1-18 from 5.2 and Naushad Shafi Shaikh 1-46 off 15
Chorley v Fulwood & Broughton
Fulwood & Broughton won the toss at Windsor Park and decided to bat first, Matthew Smith and Mike Sambell opened but lost Sambell fourth ball of the innings lbw to Edwin Moulton for 0 (2 balls) 1-1
Sonal Dinusha came in at three but with the score on 19 Edwin Mpoulton had Matthew Smith caught by Roshen Silva for 4 (24 balls) 19-2, next in was Ben Rosbottom who became the first of three wickets in four balls for Will Moulton
Rosbottom was caught by Kyle Dixon for 8 (7 balls) 28-3, two balls later Ben Parkinson was bowled for 0 (2 balls) 28-4 and next ball Zach Proctor was lbw 28-5, things did not improve for the visitors with two wickets falling with the score on 34
Will Mouton struck again taking two wicketts in two balls Lewis Wellings lbw for 0 (3 balls) 34-6, Jon Fenton was out next ball lbw for 0 34-7.
Charlie Rossiter joined Sonal Dinusha and they dug in and kept the scoreboard moving, their partnership was 70 when Rossiter fell caught by Edwin Moulton off Roshen Silva for 29 (71 balls) 104-8
Dom Jackson replaced Rossiter and continued the fight back with Dinusha until he was out for 23 (28 balls) 146-9, Chris Brookes came in at eleven , the visitors were all out on the last ball of the innings with Sonal Dinusha caught behind by Harry Barclay off Edwin Moulton for 109 (145 balls), Chris Brookes was 8no (19 balls)
Will Moulton took 5-32 from 14 overs, Edwin Moulton 3-64 off 15 and Roshen Silva 2-44 from 9
Alexander Howarth and Will Moulton opened but soon lost Moulton lbw to Jon Fenton for 1 (19 balls) 19-1. Harry Barclay came in at three, he lost his partner Alexander Howarth caught by Lewis Wellings off Jon Fenton for 21 (25 balls) 22-2
Roshen Silva joined Barclay and they were going along steadily until they both fell with the score on 74, Silva was caught behind by Mike Sambell off Lewis Wellings for 29 (43 balls) 74-3, Barclay was also caught behind by Mike Sambell but off Sonal Dinusha for 22 (63 balls) 74-4
Alfie Dobson and Edwin Moulton were the new batsmen, Moulton was out for 5 (15 balls) caught by Ben Rosbottom off Zach Proctor. Disaster struck for the hosts with the loss of two wickets on 92, Alfie Dobson was stumped by Mike Sambell off Dom Jackson for 11 (29 balls) 92-6, two balls later Jackson had Sam Steeple caught by Chris Brookes for 0 92-7
One run had been added when Kyle Dixon was caught and bowled by Sonal Dinusha for 1 (8 balls) 93-8, Dom Jackson bowled James Dunn for 10 (15 bals) 104-9, Sonal Dinusha claimed victory for the visitors having Gauav Dhar caught by Chris Brookes for 1 (7 balls) as Chorley were 106 all out in 40.4 overs with James Lee 1no (19 balls)
The Fulwood & Broughton wicket takers were Dom Jackson 3-17 from 7 overs, Sonal Dinusha 3-32 off 9, Jon Fenton 2-25 from 9, Zach Proctor 1-5 off 2 and Lewis Wellings 1-19 from 6
Garstang v Vernon Carus
Garstang won the toss at the Riverside Sports ground and invited the visitors to bat first, the opening pair were Alan Maguire and Bob Bridges, with the total on 7 Alan Maguire was run out by Ryan Pearson for 3 (26 balls) 7-1
Kasun Ekanayake Mudiyanselage was coming in at three and with Bridges moved the score to 37, Bob Bridges was caught by Michael Walling off Punit Bisht for 12 (49 balls) 37-2,
James Rigby came in next but after nearly doubling the score he lost his partner Kasun Ekanayake Mudiyanselage for 34 (64 balls) 62-3, Rigby soon followed with only one run added he was bowled by Rizwan Patel for 12 (20 balls), 63-4, Christian Ash and Greg Cameron knuckled down and moved the score on, Ian Walling was brought back into the attack and he soon bowled Cameron for 22 (27 balls) 116-5
The incoming batsman Jacob Hooland became Walling's second victim bowled for 9 (10 balls) 126-6, Walling then accounted for Christian Ash bowling him for 30 (44 balls) 129-7
Number eight Jack Ashworth was Ian Walling's fourth victim caught by Ryan Pearson for 7 (11 balls) 138-8, Joel Anthony Derham cleaned up the tail, bowling David Sullivan for 8 (14 balls) 145-9, followed by having Gabriel Douthwaite stumped by Matthew Crowther for 5 (11 balls) as Vernon Carus closed on 153 all out in 47.3 overs with Matthew Timms 3no (8 balls)
Ian Walling took 4-39 from 15 overs, Rizwan Patel 2-30 off 9, Joel Anthony Derham 2-30 from 7.4 and Punit Bisht 1-20 off 7
Michael Wellings and Michael Walling opened and got the visitors off to a good start, their partnership was broken by Matthew Timms trapping Michael Walling lbw for 25 (47 balls) 49-1
Punit Bisht came in at three but lost Michael Wellings caught Christian Ash off Jacob Holland for 31 (45 balls), 57-2. Mark Walling replaced Michael Wellings, Matthew Timms struck again having Punit Bisht lbw for 17 (15 balls) 75-3
Ryan Pearson was the new batsman but was soon out lbw to Matthew Timms for 3 (11 balls) 87-4, Matthew Crowther joined Mark Walling and they kept the scoreboard moving along until Mark Walling fell stumped by Bob Bridges off David Sullivan for 50 (67 balls) 147-5
Tom Wells was Matthew Crowther's new partner and they saw the hosts home on 155-5 in 38.3 overs, Crowther was 13no (42 balls) and Wells 8no (4 balls)
Matthew Timms took 3-57 from 15, David Sullivan 1-28 off 4.3 and Jacob Holland 1-31 from 8
Kendal v St Annes
Kendal won the toss at Shap Road and invited the visitors to bat first, Tom Higson and Ashton Charles opened, Higson fell caught by Rongsen Jonathan off Toby Tyson for 4 (7 balls) 5-1
Yohan De Silva was in at three but was quickly out caught behind by Sam Fletcher off Toby Tyson for 1 (9 balls) 7-2. Lukman Vahaluwala joined Charles and had made 20 (23 balls) when he was caught behind by Sam Fletcher off Kuldeep Singh 20-3
Kuldeep Singh then accounted for Ashton Charles caught by Chris Miller for 10 (33 balls) 27-4, the two new batsmen Nathan Bolus and Nathan Armstrong knuckled down and began the fight back, their partnership of 89 was broken by Toby Tyson trapping Nathan Bolus lbw for 53 (81 balls) 116-5
Nathan Bend was the new batsman but fell quickly caught by Oliver Yarker off CHris Miller for 0 (3 balls) 117-6, Alex Bradley joined Armstrong but Armstrong's fighting innings came to an end falling lbw to Chris Miller for 41 (84 balls) 126-7
Tom Bradley was next in but was bowled by Chris Miller for 10 (15 balls) 144-8. Mitch Bolus replaced Tom Bradley but was run out by Sam Fletcher for 4 (4 balls) 149-9
The St Annes innings closed on 156 all out in 49.1 overs with Alex Bradley lbw to Chris Miller for 10 (32 balls), James Bradley was 5no (4 balls)
Chris Miller took 4-26 from 12.1 overs, Toby Tyson 3-55 off 15 and Kuldeep Singh 2-19 from 9
The Kendal reply mirror imaged that of the visitors, Harry Lee was bowled by Lukman Vahaluwala for 0 (12 balls) 10-1, Mitch Bolus had Paul Dodds caught behind by James Bradley for 10 (32 balls) 12-2
The Kendal no3 David Batty was caught by Ashton Charles off Lukman Vahaluwala for 1 (17 balls) 18-3, it was Rongsen Jonathan and Oliver Tyson's job to rebuild the innings, Lukman Vahaluwala broke the partnership bowling Rongsen Jonathan for 29 (36 balls) 53-4
Chris Miller was the new batsman but lost Oliver Tyson caught by Nathan Bend off Tom Bradley for 17 (27 balls) 62-5, Sam Fletcher joined Miller and they looked to be steering the game in the hosts favour until Lukman Vahaluwala had Chris Miller caught by Nathan Bolus for 32 (72 balls) 124-6
Vahaluwala gave the visitors hope trapping Sam Fletcher lbw for 34 (46 balls) 133-7, Oliver Yarker in next with game poised 24 runs required by the hosts or three wickets for the visitors who would come out on top.
Kuldeep Singh replaced Fletcher and with Yarker took the score to within three runs of victory when Yarker was bowled by Tom Higson for 10 (18 balls), 154-8. No 10 was Toby Tyson who saw Kuldeep Singh hit the winning runs as Kendal closed on 158-8 in 46.1 overs. Singh 17no (13 balls) Tyson 0no (5 balls)
Lukman Vahaluwa;a was the pick of the St Annes bowlers with 5-37 from 15 overs, Tom Bradley 1-32 off 7, Tom Higson 1-40 from 14 and Mitch Bolus 1-47 off 10.1
Lancaster v Leyland
Leyland won the toss at Lune Road and batted first making 216-8 in their 50 overs thanks to Nasir Nawazz 54, Karl Cross 42 and Andrew Jacques 36
For Lancaster Ben Simm took 4-55 from 15, Liam Moffat 2-44 off 10 and Jamie Heywood 2-58 from 12
In reply Lancaster were 157-9 in their 50 overs, Ifan Khan top scored with 40 and Jamie Heywood making 38
The Leyland wicket takers were Nathan McDonnell 4-54 from 15, Nasir Nawaz 3-26 off 8, Karl Cross 1-17 from 8 and Andrew Jacques 1-25 off 8
Penrith v Longridge
Longridge won the toss at Tynefield Park and put the hosts into bat first, Nicky Burns and Asher Hart opened with a partnership of 64 broken by Caleb Bradford having Nicky Burns stumped by Tom Turner for 19 (36 balls) 64-1
Ollie Greenwood came in at three and battled away until on 8 (32 balls) he was caught by Luke Platt off Jake Durnell, 93-2, Mohit Kale joined Asher Hart and they gave the innings momentum until Asher Hart was caught behind by Tom Turner off Tom Howarth for 88 (113 balls) 165-3
James Bowman was Kale's new partner and they kept the run rate up, Kale was next out caught by Tom Howarth off Matt Greenall for 78 (77 balls) 211-4, Owen Jones replaced Kale and soon lost Bowman bowled by Jake Durnell for 33 (24 balls) 230-5
Alister Craig was next in but lost partner Jones caught by Rhys Morgan off Matt Greenall for 0 (3 balls), 233-6, Caleb Bradford trapped Alister Craig lbw for 5 (7 balls) 236-7
There was only one over remaining and the Penrith tail fell chasing the runs, Caleb Bradford bowled James Ellis for 4 (2 balls) 240-8, the next ball he bowled Bruce Glendinning for 0, 240-9
The innings closed on the last ball of the innings with Ben Ellis caught behind by Tom Turner off Jake Durnell for 2 (3 balls) as Penrith were 244 all out with Dylan Simpson 2no (3 balls)
Caleb Bradford took 4-67 from 15 overs, Jake Durnell 3-71 off 12.3. Matt Greenall 2-25 from 7.5 and Tom Howarth 1-40 off 8.1
James Whitehead and Joshua Mullin opened for the visitors, James Ellis broke the partnership by bowling Joshua Mullin for 5 (13 balls) 11-1, new batsman Tom Howarth fell to Ellis caught behind by Alister Craig for 4 (7 balls) 15-2
Zac Christie came in at four and with Whitehead began to build a score until Bruce Glendinning removed them , Whitehead went first caught behind by Alister Craig for 12 (30 balls) 38-3, he then bowled Christie for 19 (21 balls) 43-4
The visitors were in trouble and things got dramatically worse with the loss of four quick wickets, Tom Turner was the first to go caught by Ben Ellis off Mohit Kale for 1 (4 balls) 44-5, next to go was Luke Platt bowled by Mohit Kale for 2 (20 balls) 45-6.
Bruce Gledinning had Rhys Morgan caught by Ben Ellis for 0 (8 balls) 45-7, Dylan Simpson had Caleb Bradford caught behind by Alister Craig for 1 (12 balls) 46-8
Jake Durnell and Matt Greenall battled to stem the flow but with the score on 69 Durnell was caught by James Bowman off Mohit Kale for 9 (33 bals) 69-9
Defeat for the visitors was only a matter of time and it all came to an end with Jonathan Millward caught by Owen Jones off Dylan Simpson for 5 ( 9 balls) as Longridge were 80 all out in 29.1 overs with Matt Greenall 15no (20 balls)
