The Northern Cricket League Review

Round 19 of the Northern Premier League saw only one game completed Kendal defeating St Annes. The remaining games were abandoned

Blackpool need one win from the remaining three matches to win the championship.

Blackpool v Chorley

Chorley won the toss at Stanley Park and invited the hosts to bat first. Blackpool made 170-5 in 41.1 overs when rain stopped play

Tomas King was top scorer with 75 supported by Ciaran Johnson 42no, Sam Dutton 30 and Jake Muncaster 21.

The Chorley wicket takers were Gaurav Dhar 3-48 from 12 overs and Louis Johnson 2-30 off 7

Fleetwood v Garstang

Garstang won the toss at Broadwater and put Fleetwood in to bat. The hosts made 173-6 in 43 overs before rain stopped play

Adam Sharrocks lead the way with 47no with Declan Clerkin 37, Tom Wilson 30 and Dyllan Matthews 26

Mohammed Yusuf took 3-65 from 13 overs, Danny Gilbert 2-45 off 13 and Thomas Speake 1-19 from 7

Kendal v St Annes

Kendal won the toss at Shap Road and asked the visitors to bat first, Tom Higson and Luke Jardine opened but were parted with the last ball of the first over,Higson caught by Toby Tyson off Chris Miller for 0 (6 balls) 0-1

Nathan Bolus joined Jardine but on 14 Jardine was out lbw to Miller for 7 (10 balls) 14-2. Nathan Armstrong came in at 4 but when he had made 5 (16 balls) he was bowled by Chalana De Silva, 21-3

Chris Miller took his third wicket that of Andy Drake caught by Chalana De Silva for 0 (6 balls) 26-4. The Miller/De Silva combination were in action shortly afterwards removing Alex Bradley for 3 (14 balls) 30-5

St Annes were in trouble and things did not improve when Chris Miller took his fifth wicket that of Nathan Band bowled for 1 (17 balls) 32-6, Miller struck again two balls later bowling Harry Birkman for 0 (2 balls) 32-7

Nathan Bolus had been keeping one end going but he was out caught behind by Shane Hyland off Chalana De Silva for 18 (48 balls) 34-8, Wicket number seven for Chris Miller came with James Bradley caught behind by Shane Hyland for 0 (5 balld) 35-9

Mitch Bolus 20no (33 balls) did what he could but lost Curtis Fletcher for 2 (30 balls) bowled by Kuldeep Singh as St Annes were bowled out for 56 in 31.1 overs

The Kendal hero was Chris Miller with 7-20 from 12 overs with Chalana De Silva 2-8 off 11 and Kuldeep Singh 1-13 from 4.1

Due to the weather Kendal were set to get 55 in 36 overs, they achieved their target taking 6.1 overs to reach the 55 runs required.

Chris Miller was 33no (25 balls) and Darren Nightingale 22no (12 balls)

Lancaster v Longridge

Longridge won the toss at Lune Road and invited the hosts to bat first, Steven Fisher and Jamie Heywood batted carefully against the Longridge attack but on 24 Fisher was caught behind by Thomas Turner off William Vause for 11 (34 balls) 24-1

Atharva Taide joined Heywood but the introduction of Jake Durnell into the attack changed everything, in his second over he bowled Jamie Heywood for 25 (52 balls) 56-3. then in his third over he did the hat-trick, firstly Atharva Taide 17 (24 balls) 56-4, next ball David Rippengal lbw for 0 56-5, then his hat-trick ball bowling Sandy Richards for 0 56-6

Eddie Steinson was next out caught by Rhys Morgan off Daniel Wilson for 6 (14 balls) 60-6. in Wilson's next over he had Ben Simm caught by Nick Wilkinson for 0 (6 balls) 62-7.

Jake Durnell got back into the act having David Steinson caught by Joshua Mullin for 5 (30 balls) 66-8. Daniel Wilson then had Damar Graham caught behind by Thomas Turner for 0 (2 balls) 68-9

The innings ended with Jake Dunell bowling Lee Sparks for 2 (7 balls) 71 all out in 30 overs with Irfan Qayyum 0no (9 balls)

Jake Durnell took 6-12 (including Hat-trick) from 8 overs with Daniel Wilson 3-4 off 5 and William Vause 1-29 from 7

The rains came and there was no further play

Leyland v Fulwood & Broughton

Leyland won the toss at the Stanning Memorial ground and put the visitors into bat, Mark Smith and Matthew Rosbottom opened but were separated with the score on 8 Matthew Rosbottom caught by Karl Cross off Saliya Saman for 3 (18 balls) 6-1

Saman took his second wicket bowling Mark Smith for 13 (44 balls) 23-2, three overs later the rains came to end play for the day on 31-2 in 17 overs with Matthew Smith 12no (29 balls) and Mike Sambell 3no (11 balls)

Saliya Saman took 2-14 from 8 overs.

Morecambe v Netherfield

Morecambe won the toss at Woodhill Lane and elected to bowl first, Ben Barrow and Josh Dixon opened and took the score to 15 when Barrow was caught by Rongsen Jonathan off Liam Moffat for 10 (23 balls) 15-1.

Moffat struck again trapping Josh Dixon lbw for 3 (29 balls) 32-2, James Bowman became Moffat's third victim bowled for 20 (38 balls) 41-3, Shrikant Mundhe and Finlay Richardson moved the score on to 76 when Liam Moffat took too wickets in two balls firstly having Richardson lbw for 10 (13 balls) 76-4 then bowling Bradley Earl for 0 (1 ball) 76-5

Shrikant Mundhe was next out lbw to Liam Moffat for 30 (30 balls), 85-6, twelve runs had been added when Lewis Richardson was bowled by Kieran Moffat for 10 (16 balls) 97-7 Thomas Anderton and Oli Wileman batted carefully but on 119 Anderton was caught by Kieran Moffat off Rongsen Jonathan for 21 (56 balls) 119-8

The Netherfield innings was 123-8 in 40 overs when rain stopped play with Oli Wileman 8no (27 balls) and Isaac Medhurst 2no (11 balls)

The Morecambe wicket takers were Liam Moffat 6-50 from 13 overs, Kieran Moffat 1-17 off 8 and Rongsen Jonathan 1-18 fro 8
