The Northern Cricket League Review
Round 13 of the Northern Premier League saw Chorley win again. There are also wins for Fleetwood ,Fulwood & Broughton and Lancaster,
The matches between Blacckpool v Garstang and Leyland v Longridge were abandoned
Blackpool v Garstang
This match was played at the Riverside gound due to the Stanley Park gound being unfit, Blackpool won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first
Michael Wellings and Michael Walling opened and add reached 21 when Wellings was bowled by Jamie Thomson for 20 (19 balls) 21-1
Punit Bisht was in at No3 and with Walling moved the score to 61 when Walling was run out by Matthew Siddall for 13 (52 balls) 61-2, Mark Walling in at 4 was trapped lbw by Joshua Boyne for 0 (2 balls) 62-3
Things got worse for the home side with Punit Bisht out caught by Joshua Boyne off Matthew Siddall for 27 (41 balls) 64-4. Matthew Crowther and Dan Curwen tried to halt the collapse but Curwen was out lbw to Matthew Siddall for 0 (18 balls) 70-5
Siddall struck again shortly afterwards having Ian Walling caught by Joshua Boyne for 4 (8 balls) 76-6. Matthew Crowther's battling innings came to a close when he was caught and bowled by Matthew Grindley for 9 (40 balls). 87-7
The rains came and the match was abandoned
Matthew Siddall took 3-12 from 7 overs, Joshua Boyne 1-13 off 7, Matthew Grindley 1-25 from 9 and Jamie Thomson 1-32 off 8
Fleetwood v Netherfield
Fleetwood won the toss at Broadwater and put the visitors in to bat, Netherfield were bowled out for 136 in 44 overs, They had three batsmen out in their twenties, James Bowman and Daniel Gaunt both scoring 26 and Finlay Richardson 23
Dyllan Matthews did the damage for Fleetwood with 4-28 from 13 overs, the other wicket takers were Jeremy Davies 2-19 off 6, James Amor 2-35 from 13 and Declan Clerkin 1-24 off 6.5
In reply Fleetwood knocked off the runs reaching 137-4 in 29.2 overs thanks to Dyllan Matthews 49 (58 balls) and Jeremy Davies 36 (75 balls)
The Netherfield wicket takers were Samuel Medhurst 2-34 from 9 overs, Bertie Medhurst 1-25 off 5 and Matt Jackson 1-34 from 8.2
Kendal v Fulwood & Broughton
Fulwood & Broughton won the toss at Shap Road and decided to bat first, Mark Smith and Matthew Rosbottom progressed steadily to 49 when Smith was lbw to Chalana De Silva for 27 (68 balls) 49-1
Matthew Smith joined Rosbottom and they added 38 when Rosbottom was caught by Chalana De Silva off Chris Miller for 29 (85 balls) 87-2. without further addition to the score Matthew Smith was trapped lbw by Chalana De Silva for 25 (27 balls) 87-3
The new batsmen Lewis Wellings and Abhay Negi kept the scoreboard ticking over and their partnership was 52 when Wellings was bowled by Kuldepp Singh for 24 (43 balls), 139-4. Ben Parkinson was Negi's next partner but fell after making 15 (11 balls) caught by Darren Nightingale off Chalana De Silva. 162-5
De Silva struck again bowling Mike Sambell for 0 (1 ball) 165-6. Abhay Negi 54no (58 balls) and Jon Fenton 4no (7 balls) saw the visitors to the close of their innings on 187-6
Chalana De Silva took 4-61 from 15 overs, Kuldeep Singh 1-36 off 10 and Chris Miller 1-49 from 15
Kendal got off to a bad start losing Chris Miller trapped lbw by Abhay Negi for 3 (9 balls), 12-1. Seven runs had been added when Harry Lee was bowled by Jon Fenton for 3 (20 balls) 19-2
Darren Nightingale and Chalana de Silve were slowly rebuilding the innings when De Silva was bowled by Abhay Negi for 12 (22 balls) 50-3, The backbone of the Kendal innings went when Darren Nightingale was bowled by Dominic Jackson for 43 (58 balls) 72-4
Chris Brookes's introduction into the attack had dramatic consequences, he bowled David Batty for 9 (30 balls) 80-5, Terry Hunte fell to Dominic Jackson caught by Zac Proctor for 4 (12 balls) 83-6
The home side then collapsed losing four wickets without a run being scored, Brookes trapped Oliver Tyson lbw for 2 (5 balls) 83-7, Murray Fisher fell next ball lbw to Brookes 83-8, Dominic Jacson had Joseph |Dodds lbw for 0 (3 balls) 83-9
Chris Brookes gave victory to the visitors having Toby Tyson stumped by Mike Sambell for 0 (5 balls) as Kendal were bowled out for 83 in 28.1 overs, Kuldeep Singh was 0no (5 balls)
Chris Brookes took 4-7 from 4.1 overs, Dominic Jackson 3-28 off 8, Abhay Negi 2-12 from 10 and Jon Fenton 1-30 off 6
Lancaster v St Annes
St Annes won the toss at Lune Road and elected to bat first, they were bowled out for 92 in 37.1 overs, Four St Annes batsmen reaching double figures, Luke Jardine 21, Alex Bradley 20, Nathan Bolus 14 and Nathan Bend 12
Atharva Taide did the damage for Lancaster with 5-21 from 13.1 overs with support from Ben Simm 3-7 off 5, Damar Graham 1-21 from 7 and Irfan Qayyum 1-30 off 7
In reply Lancaster knocked off the runs reaching 96-5 in 29.3 overs thanks to Atharva Taide 26, Jamie Heywood 19, Laurie Atkinson 19 and Steven Fisher 12
Tom Higson took 3-12 from 9.3 overs and Harry Birkman 2-26 off 6
Leyland v Longridge
Longridge won he toss at the Stanning Memorial ground and invited the hosts to bat first, Leyland made 132-9 in their 50 overs, James Rounding top scored with 45 with support from Iain Critchley 35 and Joe Wallwork-Woods 18
For Longridge William Vause took 5-32 from 10 overs, Jonathan Millward 2-30 off 12 and Daniel Wilson 2-39 from 15
In relpy Longidge were 33-2 in 11.2 overs when the match was abandoned with Luke Platt making 21 (37 balls)
For Leyland Kutis Watson took 1-14 from 6 overs with Ben Weaver 1-19 off 5.2
Morecambe v Chorley
Morecambe won the toss at Woodhill Lane and elected to bat first, Gareth Pedder and Luke Pearson gave the home team a steady start reaching 31 Pearson was bowled by Will Moulton for 12 (20 balls), 31-1.
Rongsen Jonathan joined Pedder but were soon parted when Pedder was caught by Keiran McCullagh off Samuel Steeple for 29 (56 balls) 49-2, Ryan Pearson was next in and with Jonathan put on 67 runs when Jonathan was caught by Will Moulton off Keiran McCullagh for 37 (79 balls) 116-3
One run had been added when Pearson fell to the same combination caught Moulton bowled McCullagh for 31 (35 balls) 117-4. Siddesh Lad was reintroduced into the attack and he trapped Lewis Smith lbw for 10 (15 balls) 134-5
Keiran McCullagh had Alex Briggs caught by Andy Flear for 10 (35 balls) 146-6.
The game was tken over by Siddesh Lad he caught and bowled Kieran Moffat for 9 (28 balls) 149-7 then took three wickets in an over Reuben Orr lbw for 2 (9 balls) 153-8, bowled Liam Moffat for 0 (2 balls) and closed the innings bowling Joel Derham for 0 (1 ball) Morecambe 153 all out in 47 overs. Lloyd Smith was 2no (3 balls)
Siddesh Lad took 5-18 from 8 overs, Keiran McCullagh 3-28 off 9, Will Moulton 1-11 from 5.3 and Samuel Steeple 1-42 off 10
Siddesh Lad and Lewis Johnson batted carefully but with the total on 21 Johnson was caught by Rongsen Jonathan off Liam Moffat for 5 (28 balls), 21-1. Harry Barclay joined Lad and they took the score to 53 when Lad was trapped lbw by Rongsen Jonathan for 30 (62 balls) 53-2
Keiran McCullagh was in at No 4 and with Barclay took the score to 76 when Barclay was caught by Liam Moffat off Joel Derham for 22 (53 balls) 76-3. Derham struck again having McCullagh caught by Alex Briggs for 14 (26 balls) 83-4
The two new batsmen Alfie Dobson and Ben Simpkins moved the score on to 104 when Simpkins was caught and bowled by Rongsen Jonathan for 15 (17 balls) 104 5, Andy Flear joined Dobson and had made 19 (21 balls) when he was caught by Alex Briggs of Lloyd Smith, 127-6
That was the last success for the home team as Alfie Dobson took control to see Chorley home on 154-6 in 46.2 overs. Dobson was 30no (64 balls) with Will Moulton 2no (7 balls)
Joel Derham took 2-27 from 8 overs, Rongsen Jonathan 2-47 off 15, Lloyd Smith 1-17 from 3.2 and Liam Moffat 1-29 off 12
