Miller who almost claimed all ten wickets had bowled Fleetwood out in the first innings for 152 off 40.1 overs.

However a second innings return of 6-17 by Joseph Mc Cluskie saw Kendal bowled out for 117 off 52.5 overs.

Kendal struggled at the start of the game after Jarrod Coombe and Mat Clark put on a first wicket stand of 43.

Miller finished with a return of 9-55 after taking the wickets of Adam Sharrocks,James Wilson,Alex Ryder, Joe Bell and Christodoulos Bogdanos.

However The Kendal Captain was denied all ten wickets after Saeed Bariwala collected the wicket of Fleetwood Professional Neels Bergh who top scored with 60 off 75 as the hosts were all out for 152.

The Auld Greys continued to collapse after Oliver Tyson fell to Sam Bell, with Kendal in trouble on 26-5.

Joseph McCluskie finished the game off with a return of 6-17 after trapping Toby Tyson for LBW after 52.5 overs as Kendal were all out for 117.

Lancaster v Preston

(Match details courtesy of The Lancaster Guardian)

Lancaster were beaten by struggling Preston at Lune Road by four wickets on Saturday.

In the Lancaster innings only three batsmen reached double figures as they were bowled out for just 59.

Lune Road Captain Ben Simm won the toss and elected to bat first, but openers Jamie Heywood 0 and Joseph Hills 2 failed to make any kind of impact, both dismissed by Lukman Vahaluwala 4-24.

Charlie Swarbrick came in at number three and managed 12 but he was caught by Geeth Malinda with Vahaluwala grabbing his third wicket.

Kieran Moffat 2 was then caught and bowled by the rampant Vahaluwala leaving Simm 20 trying to get the innings back on track at the other end.

However, he was dismissed after being caught by Andrew Starkie off the bowling of Sabbir Patel 3-5 who also then swiftly removed Lancaster professional Kasun Madushanka 12, Irshad Desai taking the catch.

Jitendra Kumar 3-9 also got in on the act bowling Brendan Hetherington 3, Lewis McGinley 0 and Liam Moffat 0 while Iain Perrieman 0 also failed to trouble the scorers when he was bowled by Patel.

Callum East finished on one not out as Lancaster were bowled out for a well below-par score.

Preston reached their target in just 14.1 overs, although Liam Moffat 6-27 refused to give in and continued to try and take the game to the visitors as he took all six wickets to fall, Madushanka 0-29 also giving it a go with the ball.

Sajid Patel top scored for the visitors with 19 but he was caught by Perrieman, a Heywood catch bringing about the end of Malinda 0 while Yasin Patel 16 fell when he was caught by Kieran Moffat.

Vahaluwala failed to make any impact with the bat, falling for nothing thanks to the bowling of Moffat and a catch by Madushanka.

Desai 6 was clean bowled by Moffat as the hosts tried to stay in the game and Abdul Rehman Shah managed a knock of eight before being trapped in front.

However, Jitendra Kumar and Rizwan Ali remained unbeaten and Preston were able to get over the line, finishing on 61-6 to take all 15 points.

Morecambe v Penrith

(Match details courtesy of The Morecambe Visitor)

It was a tough day at the office for Morecambe on Saturday after another batting collapse from the top order saw them fall to a two-wicket defeat at Woodhill Lane against Penrith.

Ryan Pearson's side slumped to 127-9 after being put into bat on home soil with the Cumbrians getting home for the loss of eight wickets.

The result leaves Morecambe joint bottom of the table with Penrith on 47 points as their up and down Northern Premier League Division One season continues.

Morecambe were 30-5 in no time after Greg Hall took four quick wickets, including that of professional Ashan Priyanjan for a duck.

Penrith's paid man Bhanuka Rajapaksa also got in on the act removing Pearson for 13, a dismissal which brought Luke Pearson 31 to the crease.

He played a mature 90-ball innings on a tough wicket as he tried to drag the Morecambe score towards some level of respectability.

First Pearson added 40 with Eddy Read 22 before putting on another decent stand with Tommy Clough 17.

With the lower order continuing to battle hard, an unbeaten 18 from youngster Steven Fisher as least gave Morecambe something to bowl at and gave them a sniff of victory against the league's basement boys.

Hall finished with 4-31 and Rajapaksa 4-40.

The small chance the hosts had of picking up the 15 points improved when both Read 2-27 and Jamie Cassidy 1-21 took wickets in their first over, meaning Penrith were 10-2 and then 21-3 as their reply got off to a stuttering start.

There was no let-up from the change bowlers as wickets fell at regular intervals with Clough 1-30 and Priyanjan 3-47 getting in on the act.

The Woodhill Lane side sensing that the game was there for the taking. They had just one problem, as wickets tumbled at the other end Rajapaksa stood firm playing almost a lone hand.

Morecambe knowing that as long as he remained at the crease victory wasn't guaranteed. Owen Jones being run out by Gert Maartens had Penrith perilously placed at 74-8 but the professional then added 55 with Bruce Glendinning to see his side home, the visitors finishing on 129-8 in the 41st over.

Sri Lankan Rajapaksa ended the day unbeaten on 73, his 65-ball innings including three fours and four sixes.

The result was a hammer blow for Morecambe who missed the chance to go 30 points clear of the relegation zone and were dragged towards the bottom of the table.

Netherfield v St Annes

(Match details courtesy of The Westmorland Gazette)

Netherfield climbed to the top of Northern Premier Cricket League Division One after an emphatic 7 wicket win over St Annes at Parkside Road.

Netherfield broke the partnership after Bains was caught behind by Lewis Edge off the bowling of Mark Clarkson.

Durrani and Matthew Breetske guided the visitors onto 40 before Breetske was caught and bowled by Lewis Richardson.

Marc Hadwin brought into the attack dismissed Andy Drake who picked out Obus Pienaar before the leg spinner trapped Henry Higson LBW as St Annes slumped onto 70-4.

Durrani and Tom Higson offered some resistance after the visitors pushed onto 103 however Netherfield broke the partnership when Higson was stumped by Lewis Edge off the bowling of Marc Hadwin.

Hadwin picked up the wicket of Richard Staines, before St Annes slumped onto 115-8, when Nathan Chambers dismissed Matthew Derham before Hadwin finished with a return of 5-25 as Mustafa Durrani picked out Brad Earl for a top score of 48.

Nathan Chambers claimed his second wicket after Mitchell Bolus was dismissed, before Tom Williamson ran out Matthew Grindley as St Annes were all out for 125 off 44 overs.

In reply Netherfield were reduced to 55-3 after Ben Barrow was clean bowled by Matthew Grindley before Mitchell Bolus picked up the wickets of Brad Earl and Obus Pienaar.

However Netherfield soon recovered after Josh Dixon and John Huck restored parity, as the Field edged closer to victory.

Dixon who scored an undefeated knock of 29 batted sensibly throughout, however John Huck who batted for the first time in a number of weeks was in relentless form while St Annes toiled.

Huck brought up his half century and scored the winning runs at the same time with a big six as Netherfield closed on 128-3 after 31.3 overs.
