Blackpool climbed to the top of Division One, while Netherfield closed in after victory over defending Northern Premier Cricket League Champions Leyland.
DIVISION ONE:
Barrow v Preston
Aaron Keverne Onyon returned second innings figures of 7-19 as Barrow defeated Preston by 62 runs at Ernest Pass.
Preston would have fancied their chances of victory after bowling Barrow out for a below par first innings total of 117.
Lukman Vahaluwala 3-34 and Sabbir Patel 3-23 were the main wicket takers.
However Aaron Keverne Onyons second innings of 7-19 which was well supporter by Daryl Wearings 3-30 saw struggling Preston bowled out for 55 in just 22.3 overs.
Blackpool v Kendal
Blackpool defeated Kendal by 112 runs as they climbed to the top of the league.
Kendal had done well in the early stages of the first innings after the hosts were in trouble on 97-7.
However the lower order batting of Ben Howarth who posted 50 off 111 balls saw Blackpool all out for a competitive 164 with Jason Dawes returning figures of 6-44.
Kendal made a bright start in the first innings after Jason Dawes trapped Ciaron Johnson LBW before the West Indian picked up the wickets of Matthew Houston and Dan Barling as Blackpool were reduced to 32-3.
The Auld Greys continued to take wickets after Saeed Bariwala bowled Stephen Twist, before Chris Miller bowled Andy Furniss and dismissed Joshua Boyne, while Blackpool toiled onto 56-6.
Jason Dawes picked up the wicket of Tom Jefferson who fell for 39 off 92 balls before Blackpool found themselves in further trouble on 97-7.
However Blackpool fought back after Ben Howarth frustrated Kendal with a knock of 50 off 111 balls. Howarth and Paul Danson led the recovery as they guided their team onto 130.
Kendal broke the partnership after Danson picked out Chris Miller off the bowling of Bariwala, before Jason Dawes finished with a return of 6-30 after taking the wickets of Jake Muncaster and Ben Howarth as Blackpool were all out for 164 off 49.4 overs.
In reply Kendal were all out for 52 off just 21.1 overs.
Kendal made a terrible start after both Ryan Shephard and Oliver Tyson were dismissed by Chris Baines.
Things continued to get worse after Zachary Mc Caskie picked out Stephen Twist off the bowling of Tom Jefferson as Kendal fell further behind onto 35-3.
Kendal from that point collapsed to 50-7 in quick succession after Joshua Boyne ripped through to dismiss, Joseph Dodds, Ben Phillips,Jason Dawes and Saeed Bariwala.
Boyne finished with a return of 6-11 after seeing off Richard Dakin and Chris Miller, before Tom Jefferson saw off Paul Dodds who picked out Paul Danson as Kendal were all out for 52 off 21.1 overs.
Lancaster v Penrith
Penrith defeated Lancaster by 4 wickets at Lune Road on Saturday.
Batting first, the home side were bowled out for 191 with Charlie Swarbrick 69 the pick of the batsmen.
The Cumbrians got home in the 45th over however, 79 from Greg Cameron helping them finish on 195-6 to pick up a much-needed 15 points.
Having been put into bat, Jamie Heywood and promoted captain Ben Simm opened up for the hosts. Heywood's recent fine form deserted him as he fell without troubling the scorers thanks to a Kieron Trevaskis's catch off the bowling of Greg Hall 1-28.
Swarbrick and Simm then combined however with the former dominating their partnership of exactly 100.
Lancaster's number three hit nine fours and three sixes in his 65-ball 69 before Ted Stamper 2-30) claimed his first wicket of the day.
Simm 36 was next to go after adding 33 with Kieran Moffat, Jesse Dinnie 6-50 taking his first of a fine afternoon.
Dinnie took his second wicket immediately after when Moffat 18 was trapped in front to leave the Lune Road side on 134-4.
Professional Kasun Madusanka 7 was then bowled by Stamper before Stuart Phillips 4 became another victim of Dinnie when he was out leg before wicket to leave the innings stuttering on 148-6.
Brendan Hetherington hit a maximum in his 16 before becoming the latest to fall to Dinnie.
The score became 180-8 when Bhanuka Rajapaksa claimed the wicket of Lee Sparks for just two, Scott Sparks then falling for one thanks to a Rajapaksa catch off Dinnie's bowling.
When Iain Perrieman 17 fell Lancaster were all out for 191.
In reply Samuel Hall 32 and Eddie Robson 12 got Penrith off to a good start.
Madusanka 2-46 claiming the wicket of Robson at 25-1. A caught and bowled by Madusanka then removed Dinnie 2 before Hall was caught by Liam Moffat off the bowling of Simm to take the score to 58-3.
Rajapaksa 5 was the next to go as Liam Moffat 1-59 took his only wicket of the day with brother Kieran claiming the catch.
At 71-4 Penrith took control however, Cameron and Greg Hall 31, adding 85 for the fifth wicket.
Hall was bowled by Simm 3-48 but it was Cameron, who hit 11 fours and a six, who ultimately won the game for his side.
Simm eventually got his man but at 191-6 it was too little, too late as Trevaskis 18 not out saw them over the line.
Morecambe v Fleetwood
Morecambe had a day to forget at Woodhill Lane as a poor batting display saw them comprehensively beaten by Fleetwood.
Unable to back up their win over Chorley, Ryan Pearson's side were dismissed for just 94 batting first on Saturday.
The Fylde coast visitors then had no trouble in knocking off the runs, romping to a seven-wicket win in the 22nd over.
After losing the toss and being put into bat, the hosts were in trouble in no time at all, Joseph McCluskie removing Viraj Bhatia and Lewis Smith to leave Morecambe 9-2.
Professional Ashan Priyanjan 43 and captain Pearson then set about rebuilding the innings and had taken the score to 40 in the 11th over when one over from young Fleetwood seamer James Amor changed the course of the game.
The score went from 40-2 to 40-5 when Amor removed Pearson, Eddy Ready and Luke Pearson leg before wicket.
Morecambe felt they were hard done by, the skipper believing he had got an inside edge before the ball crashed into his pads. But the heart had been ripped out of the innings,
Amor bowling with great control to end with figures of 3-11 from his seven overs.
Veteran Tommy Clough 15 then combined with Priyanjan to attempt the second rebuild of the innings.
A partnership of 30 ended when a ball from Joe Bell crashed off Clough's off stump leaving the Sri Lankan all but stranded and looking to salvage something from nothing with the tail.
Unfortunately for Morecambe he was the ninth wicket to fall as he looked to hit boundaries and push the score on.
It meant the hosts innings was wrapped up inside 30 overs with Fleetwood sensing a comfortable afternoon's work.
Despite Morecambe's best efforts it turned out to be just that. Read, Smith and Priyanjan toiled away with the professional taking two of the wickets to fall as he finished with 2-9 from his six overs.
Read, 1-30, also got rid of Mat Clark, but Fleetwood cruised to the 15 points as they finished on 95-3.
Netherfield v Leyland
Netherfield moved to within five points of league leaders Blackpool after an emphatic eight-wicket win over Leyland at Parkside Road.
Marc Hadwin's first innings return of 6-40 saw Leyland collapse from 95-1 to 142 all out, while Obus Pienaars 77 not out from 51 balls eased Netherfield to victory as they closed on 144-2 from 26.2 overs.
After putting the visitors in first, Nathan Chambers claimed the early wicket of Karl Cross who picked out John Huck as Leyland were 2-1 in just the second over.
Leyland recovered as Sri Lankan Professional Pabusara Waduge and Henry Thompson pushed the visitors onto 95.
Both Waduge and Thompson had a lot of joy off the Netherfield seam bowling attack, while Hadwin was also conceding early runs.
However a bowling change that saw Pienaar come into the attack settled things down while Hadwin began to find his range.
The changes had an instant impact as Thompson's mistimed shot at a Pienaar delivery fell into the hands of Stuart Nixon as Netherfield made the crucial breakthrough.
Once Thompson had been dismissed Netherfield began to dominate, as Hadwin picked up the wickets of Waduga and Ross Bretherton. Waduga was dismissed for a top score of 60 off 97 balls while Bretherton fell for eight after both were caught by Josh Dixon.
Pienaar closed with a return of 3-27 as the South African despatched of Andrew Makinson and Tom Reece, before the visitors were reduced to 136-7 when Hadwin bowled James Rounding.
Hadwin completed his impressive haul when the leg spinner picked up the wickets of James Chaplin, Steven Pallett and Jacob Wright who was stumped by Lewis Edge as Leyland were all out for 142.
Netherfield made a slow start in their reply as Brad Earl fell for 0 off the bowling of Bretherton, however Ben Barrow's quickfire 28 from 28 balls restored parity before the club captain was caught behind by Jacob Wright as Bretherton picked up his second wicket.
However South African professional Pienaar and the steady batting of Josh Dixon guided Netherfield across the finishing line. Pienaar was in relentless form as he went on to reach 77 off 51 balls in a knock that included eight fours and four sixes, while Dixon posted an undefeated 38 off 75 balls.
The Field finished the game off when Dixon hit the ball across the boundary ropes as Netherfield closed on 144-2 off just 26.2 overs.
St Annes v Chorley
St Annes good run of form continued after they defeated Chorley by 6 wickets.
Matthew Grindley returned figures of 5-53 as Chorley were all out for 145 off 41.1 overs. Chorley's main run scorer was Andrew Holdsworth who scored 38 off 61 balls.
In reply Matthew Breetzke's knock of 56 off 77 guided St Annes to victory as they closed on 146-4 off 36.5 overs.
Gurman Bains contributed with 31 off 52 before Henry Higson got the hosts over the finishing line with an undefeated knock of 22 off 57 balls.
